You're My Only Star

There was a long silence on her part. Her heart was in turmoil and Song Xing Xing did not know what she should say to Lu Xun at this time. She should be happy upon receiving his confession, but surprisingly, she did not feel that way.

At this time, her feeling was a little complicated.

Her heart would still beat furiously whenever she saw him. However, she did not want to agree easily either. There are still a lot of questions in her mind.

Song Xing Xing took a deep, staggering breath. Her head lowered. She did not dare to look up to meet his gaze lest she would give in to him too easily.

She did not want to become the person for Lu Xun to fall back on and bounced back up. If that happened, her heart would be broken again and she did not know whether she would be able to take it.

Lu Xun stared back at her helplessly. He did not know how did his words get misinterpreted.

He felt as if something was stabbing at his heart.

"I didn't mean it that way. Xing Xing, I am not using you." His grip around her wrist tightened. But after a few seconds, Lu Xun loosened his hand as he was afraid of hurting her. "I really like you." Taking a deep breath, Lu Xun leaned his head on top of her shoulder. "Tell me… What should I do to make you believe me?"

Her eyes started to sting and Song Xing Xing did not know whether she wanted to believe in his words or not. Everything between them happened so fast that she did not know what she should do.

Song Xing Xing quickly scolded her heart for being unable to make up her mind regarding Lu Xun.

The man was too close to her and she was unable to think straight because of him.

She took a few deep breaths to calm down and moved to get away from him. "President Lu, you are still unwell. You should go and get rest first."

Lu Xun tightened his hand into a fist as he watched her walked away. As the door shut closed, Lu Xun placed a hand on his eyes and laughed.

Even after he had told her everything, she still walked away from him.

Lu Xun wondered if perhaps, his luck in making money was too good that it had taken away his luck in the romance department.

He finally found the person that he liked. But due to his own mistake, he had driven her away.

Could it be that he was destined to live as a single man for the rest of his life?

Lu Xun sat down on his bed and lowered his head. His mind was replaying everything that had happened earlier.

All of the sudden, a light flashed in his eyes. Lu Xun looked up again and the depressed look on his face gradually disappeared.

Song Xing Xing had not agreed or rejected him. He could still pursue and convinced her that he was not using her or telling her lies. He could still try to win her heart, right?

Lu Xun walked down the stairs and saw that his breakfast was already prepared on the table.

Because he was living alone, he had hired a helper, Auntie Lin to look over his place as well as to prepare breakfast for him on weekdays.

Lu Xun walked towards the kitchen and saw that there was a pot of fish porridge on the stove. Auntie Lin had probably heard that he was hospitalized last night and had prepared light breakfast for him.

The doorbell rang as he was about to scoop the porridge into the bowl. Lu Xun glanced at the time and frowned.

It was still too early for Assistant Bei Yuan to come over to his place. Moreover, he had already told his assistant that he wanted to rest and will not be accepting any work.

After Bei Yuan had picked him up at the hospital last night, Lu Xun had already dumped his work to his assistant.

With a puzzled look on his face, Lu Xun walked over to the door. As the door swung open, Lu Xun was surprised to see a familiar face in front of him.

"Yu Han?" Lu Xun pushed the door to open wider. He looked out the door and found that his friend had come alone. Lu Xun then shifted his body to let his friend into the house. "Why are you here?"

"I heard about what had happened to you last night," Zhang Yu Han said. "The incident happened at my hotel. Of course, I have to book the first flight and come to visit you."

Lu Xun raised a brow. "You come alone? Your wife and kids are not here?"

As far as he knew, ever since his friend, Zhang Yu Han was involved in an accident a few years ago, he and his wife have become inseparable. It was a little strange to see him coming to visit him alone.

"I sent my wife and the kids to her grandparents' place. The elders missed their great-grandchildren."

"I was about to have my breakfast. Do you want to join me as well?"

"You cooked?"

Lu Xun chuckled. "Auntie Lin made some fish porridge before she left."

Zhang Yu Han shrugged. "Sure."

The two men walked into the dining room. Zhang Yu Han took a seat and waited for his friend to return with two bowls of porridge.

"How are you?" Zhang Yu Han asked as he looked at the porridge in front of him.

"I'm alright." Lu Xun passed his friend the cutlery and nodded. "Come. Let's eat."

Zhang Yu Han took a deep breath and spoke, "I'm sorry. I didn't expect such a thing to happen to you in one of my hotels. The staff who was involved in this incident has been fired. Fortunately, Song Yi's cousin was around and had recognized you. Or else, everything might be too late."

Lu Xun lowered his head as he thought about Song Xing Xing. Fortunately, the girl had helped him to get out of a troublesome situation. However, this made him wonder how did Song Xing Xing know what that woman had tried to do to him?

"The girl who had drugged you. Do you know who she is?"

"She's one of the actresses who was involved in a recent production," Lu Xun said. "Recently, she has been trying to get my attention by creating too much coincidental. I have always rejected her but I did not think that she would choose to drug me. Don't worry.. This girl will no longer be able to stay in the entertainment industry."
