After thinking for a while Nozomi gave a little nod before speaking again.
“Then, could you transform? I think seeing you transformed yet still you would help.”
“Sure”
With that Tomoka’s body became covered by a black smoke as her body changed. Soon enough, as the smoke began to disappear, instead of the usual red-head stood a strange looking lizard. Ivory white bone for a face and jaw with emerald green eyes. It scales a tar black color that reflects little to no light. On its head a mane of bright scarlet hair.
“So what do you think?” Tomoka’s voice came out gravely and deep like that of a chainsmoker yet it still contained tinges of femininity to it.
“You look different.”
“Well duh, I am a big lizard now.” Tomoka knew what Nozomi was talking about. She was also surprised the first time she saw her transformation and the changes it had.
“Really?” Said Nozomi with a deadpan. She was a hundred percent sure Tomoka knew what she was talking about.
With a small laugh Tomoka turned back to her usual self. Though the after effects of the transformation could be seen with the naked eye. The girl looked like she had been beaten all over with bruises everywhere that healed with incredible speed.
“See, I was still me, so nothing to worry any longer.”
“Yeah, though that joke was awful.” A small smile formed on Nozomi’s lips. The joke was one of those that is so bad it becomes a little funny from how bad it is.
“Then why are you smiling?”
“I’m not!”
“You are~”
Like that the two continued to act like girls their age for a while longer. Though soon enough they had to meet up with their sensei for their daily training before doing their super dull and boring D-ranked mission.
“Alright, before we start training I have a question for you” Yamato looked at Tomoka with a tinge of curiosity as he spoke next.
“Why haven’t you used your dojutsu again Tomoka?” Hearing Yamato’s words, Tomoka's easy going smile became cramped. Ever since it evolved she had been trying to train it by herself. The fact she didn’t use it during their training sessions is because she hasn’t been able to fix the problems that appeared after it’s evolution. So with a sigh she gave her answer.
“Well, guess the cat’s out of the bag. My kinagan evolved recently and it gives me a massive headache when I use it now. The amount of info it gives is stupidly large and my brain can’t cope with it.”
That wasn’t the end of the problem either. The chakra absorption feature also caused her a lot of problems now. Normally, her eyes would only steal chakra from one objective in her line of sight. Now it would steal from everything in her line of sight. With a kilometer radius sphere of sight you could already guess what the problem is.
That’s right, Tomoka’s eyes would try to steal energy from everything in a kilometer radius around her. The chear amount of energy being enough to surpass what her eyes can manage causing them to bleed mangekyou sharingan style.
“I see, I guess you are training by yourself to try and get the hang of it.” Tomoka just gave Yamato a simple nod to which he nodded back.
“Alright then, let's train after which I need to tell you all something” Yamato had to force a small smile down to not give away the surprise he had prepared.
Two hours later the group of four sat around resting after a rather intense session of training. Even Yamato felt a bit strained. To make things fair for the trio he had to fight at their level. The problem with doing so is that he would need to compete with the trio’s stamina. Thanks to Tomoka’s intense training the trio has a lot and due to their teamwork they would get small rests here and there while they kept Yamato pressured.
“Well, I have good news. I talked with the Hokage and he has decided to assign us our first C-ranked mission.” As soon as Yamato finished speaking Tomoka raised her hand. She didn’t need to but doing so seemed to annoy her sensei so she did it for the funnies.
Seeing Tomoka’s raised hand Yamato couldn’t help but sigh. He had told Tomoka on multiple occasions that doing so wasn’t necessary. Not only that but the action bothered him for some reason.
“Go ahead”
“Has the mission been assigned already? And if so, what is it?” Tomoka wanted to steal team 7’s first C-ranked mission. Now that they had permission she would need the answer to her question to see what she could do to make that happen.
“Yes actually, we are going to the land of waves and escort a bridge builder there. We will also keep guard while he builds it.” Hearing this, Tomoka thanked her lucky star.
‘Heh, looks like I got what I wanted without even doing anything.’
