Chapter 442 Key 3
"Worth more than your life?" she teased, her tone playful and charming all at once.
The man in front of her, couldn't help but take another glance, appreciating her beauty.
She was on a level beyond most humans—ironic, considering she wasn't even human.
"My name is Nero," the man introduced himself, his voice calm and confident. "You might've already figured it out, but I'm not really from around here."
"I know. You're from the East, right?"
"Smart guess," he said with a small smile. "I didn't think it would be that obvious."
Lilith giggled, picking up on his sarcasm. "Please, anyone with eyes would know you're not from around her."
Nero's smile widened slightly, "Well, I'll take that as a compliment. Standing out isn't always bad. I got to meet you because you're pretty hard to miss yourself."
Lilith raised an eyebrow, amused. "Flattery, huh? Don't think it's going to work on me."
"I won't lose anything by trying," he replied smoothly, not missing a beat.
She couldn't help but let out a soft laugh, momentarily taken aback by his boldness
"You must really like danger, then . But be careful what you wish for. You might just find yourself in over your head."
"Is that a warning or an invitation?" he teased.
"A warning," a voice echoed from across the room.
Another man stepped into view, drawing attention with his unique white hair and bright blue eyes. The newcomer was no slouch either; in fact, one might even say he was more attractive.
And Lilith could vouch for that, as her heart beat faster this time around.
'What is happening? Since when did this city become a hub for pretty boys?' she muttered to herself, taking a sip of her wine to calm her racing emotions.
Even a devil like herself had to admit that the two were gorgeous in their own way.
Nero had an aggressive type of aura, his monolid eyes holding a mystery that drew her in, while the white-haired man radiated purity and innocence that made him really pleasing to the eye.
Lilith couldn't help but wonder how she'd ended up in this situation.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
She had come here for a serious meeting, not to play games with a couple of charming strangers as if she were in some kind of teledrama, where a bunch of hot guys, who were also extremely rich, fought over her.
"Are you the one meeting her?" the black-haired man stood up and asked with a friendly tone. He didn't let those earlier words get to his head.
Reign paused for a moment, glancing at Lilith. It didn't seem like she recognized him.
"I don't have time to waste. Send this idiot away, Lilith," he ordered, his tone sharp and authoritative.
The words caught her off guard. She narrowed her eyes to figure out if she knew him.
As she connected the dots—the white hair, the rude attitude, and the all-black coat—recognition struck her like a lightning bolt.
"Wait a minute…" she stood up, eyeing him with confusion. "Is that really you ?"
Your adventure continues at empire
"Who else would come in a place like this and talk to you like an idiot without setting up a meeting? Of course it's me," Reign sighed, unintentionally throwing a jab at someone.
Nero's face darkened, and his friendly demeanor slipped for a moment. "You're really rude, aren't you?"
"Stop bothering me and get the hell out of here." Reign stepped forward slowly, closing the distance between .
He really didn't care who flirted with Lilith—as long as it didn't affect him. But now this idiot was actually wasting his precious time.
"Do you know who I am?" Nero asked.
"No? How about you? Do you know who I am?" Reign shot back, smirking as he leaned in slightly. His height advantage added a subtle edge to the taunt, making it clear he wasn't intimidated.
Just then, a woman's voice chimed in, breaking the rising tension. "Nero, stop bothering them."
She had dark hair and monolid eyes, indicating that she was also from the East.
"You're lucky," Nero sneered, annoyance dripping from his voice as he walk away. He deliberately bumped into Reign, to humiliate him.
But as their shoulders collided, it felt like he had slammed into a solid wall.
Reign stood his ground, unflinching. He shot Nero a cold smile. "You better check your eyesight. I think you're already going blind,"
Tension crackled in the air as the two men locked eyes again, neither willing to back down.
"Nero, I said stop!" the dark haired woman interjected again.
Nero clicked his tongue in irritation but didn't escalate the issue further.
Meanwhile, Lilith couldn't help but feel a little shocked by Reign's actions. She knew he didn't do it because he liked her—his personality was too detached and evil for that type of thing.
But the way he had effortlessly asserted dominance over Nero, all without raising his voice or beating the shit out of him, was unexpected and captivating at the same time.
There was something very sexy about it that made her think that Reign could actually be cool sometimes.
'Not good. I can't believe I'm having these kinds of thoughts about a psycho like him. ' She shook her head, reminding herself not to be swayed by appearances.
'Well, at least now I know how he got Celine to fall for him.'
Looking at him, she saw he had already settled into his chair, casually waiting .
"I didn't know you had a humanoid body," she broke the silence.
"Well, figures. I never told you I have one,"
'This guy…' she forced a smile.
This was the Reign she remembered—rude and anti-social.
She took a deep breath before speaking. It was clear that he didn't want to talk about his new appearance at all.
"Alright, back to business . We need to discuss the key's location and the best way to get to it without drawing too much attention."
"Just tell me what I have to do. No need to bother with the small details; it's not like the Capitol has a lot of security," he said, letting out a bored sigh as he glanced at the window.
