The World's most Overpowered Side-Character

Chapter 391 Dishonourable Man.

"There is an easy solution to that problem, if that is all," Zhang stared at Yu.

"What?" She began lowering her hands seeing her father calm down considerably. "Is there a way to break it?"

"Break? No Soul Bindings are permanent until one of either contractees die, I am saying you can get out of it right now if you kill the bastard." The man huffed, bemused. "He is unconscious from my attack earlier, kill him before he recovers-"

"I cannot," Yu stubbornly shook her head. "That would bring dishonour to the heartfelt fight we just had."

"Then declare yourself the winner to complete the contract so I can kill him myself-"

"Dishonour, father, Master Vestic may be a little rough but he is genuine, I think you should at least hear what he has to say before you judge him." She argued.

"Girl you are putting me in a very uncomfortable position, and why are you calling him master, are you conceding defeat?" He asked, slightly optimistically.

"No, if I declare either of us the winner or loser you will immediately attack him again without hearing anything that he has to say, how Can the Heavenly Ancestor be so Irrational and impatient?" Yu asked, staring at the man more resolute in her stance than she was before.

"How dare you?"

"I am your daughter, am I not allowed to scold my own father when he is being foolish?!" She snapped at him.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

"You know just as well as I do that this man harbours no ill intent, why are you so bent on killing him?"

"Because he comes from that place!" Zhang retorted heatedly. "The Grand Collective is not someplace that we should interfere with, they are bad news, the worst, there are enemies there that could destroy everything we have spent so much time trying to build!" He turned his back with a low growl. "I will not aid this man and expose source to those barbarians!"

"You already know what he came here for?"

"Of course I do, it is obvious, with a being of his strength, there should be a very finite amount of people capable of making him this desperate, I am unable to read his thoughts or see into his mind but I assure you, him being here is a sign that the Grand Collective is already on a path to total destruction."

"He should not have come, rather, he should have tried fixing his issues internally, there are beings much stronger than I am in the Grand, after all."

"You... bastard." Sol leaned forward and was about to fall to his knees, but Yu caught him and held him upright.

"If you already knew what I was going to ask, why not just reject my plea and send me on my way, why try to kill me?" Sol wiped his mouth of blood and stared at the Heavenly Ancestor defiantly. "All you had to do was say no, I am an understanding person, I would not have pushed the topic!" He snapped.

"You hold my little Yu captive with that cursed contract, I would rather kill you and see the Grand Collective burn to nothing, than see her defiled at the hands of a bastard from that place.

"Don't flatter yourself, either of you, I didn't come here to fuck around, I am on a mission to save my people, defile? what the fuck do you take me for?!" Sol roared in outrage, standing on his own while his brown hair began flowing, going white from the roots.

"You barely have the strength to stand, letalone fight, watch your tongue, boy-"

"Jena, come to my side right now." Sol began grinding his teeth, still enraged after overhearing the conversation while he was in a state of recovery.

"The girl is trapped in-"

"Master, you called?" Jena appeared at Sol's side on her knee wearing a modern fit rather than the traditional uniform she had been wearing before. "I am still in the process of measuring his mana and abilities..."

"Fuck that, we're moving on to the next system." Sol sneered. "This was a waste of time, the games, this system, this asshole!"

"You-"

"Father!!" Yu snapped as well, with her soul tethered to Sol's and the way she had seen him desperately fight and even challenge the Heavenly Ancestor, she could undersand his feelings better than anyone else there, even from her end, it felt like a betrayal. "You have no right to trample on the hopes of a man fighting so fiercely to keep his people alive!" She scolded him.

"Yu, listen to me, there are powers at work here that are beyond your understanding, do not raise your neck in the defence of this intruder, you will lose your head!" Zhang warned her.

"I will honour the deal I made with Master Sol Vestic, he deserves the right to fight for his home, does he not, imagine if you were in his shoes-"

"I will never be in the shoes of this barbaric creature, a filthy Godslayer, how dare you compare me with his lowly kind?"

"Master Zhang," Sol stood upright and gave the man a respectful bow. "For all the power that you have, and all the heavenly knowledge that you possess, I have met a lot, but you are by far the biggest coward I have ever had the displeasure of encountering." He stared at him after raising his head.

"You are a dispicable, sorry excuse for a man, you may be a good fighter, and a powerful cultivator, but your daughter is right; you lack honour, you have no discipline, but most of all, you're the kind of person I hate the most, looking down on what I am because you do not understand what I am capable of."

"Sol, you should refrain from angering my-"

"I don't care," Sol continued glaring at the man while he spoke. "Godslayer is a higher evolution than human, higher than even dragonkin, which I know you both are, where I hail from those who hold power and look down on others because of, it are the ones who die the worst deaths."

"You dare!" Zhang snarled, pushing past Yu and grabbing Sol by his neck, flashing and raising him off his feet.

"I do dare," Sol answered without even resisting. "Release me this instant, or go ahead and kill me along with Yu." Sol stared at him as a trickle of blood fell from his nose. "Make your choice..."

"Father, this is enough," Yu held on to his hand. "You have made it clear that he will not recieve your help, let him go, let him fight for the survival of his people."

Zhang stared at the woman holding his hand, at how her nose was bleeding as well and then released Sol with a deep regretful sigh. "Fine, I will let you leave here unharmed, but first release my daughter from that contract and then be on your way, I will accept this humiliation and remember the name Sol Vestic when the Grand Collective is long destroyed."

"I want to go with him." Yu countered her father out of the blue, causing the man to bite his lip and bleed.

"What the blazes do you mean, Yu?"

"I said I wish to accompany him," Yu clasped her hands and turned to Zhang slowly sinking to her knees and then resting her forehead before his feet. "Please, allow me to accompany Master Sol Vestic back to his home beyond Source, I want to help," She begged.

"How could I possibly allow this?" Zhang scoffed. "No, no way in hell-"

"Father, please!" Yu stood, holding her hand towards him and summoning a jade plate with a golden dragon embroidered inside of the core. "Please, accept my resignation, allow me to accompany this man!"

"Yu-"

"I will not accept no as an answer, if you refuse me I will abandon Drifting Heaven and flee to his side on my own, but I would rather ask your blessing, so please, I beg of you, allow me this chance!"

"Master, Fuhua and Lady Grecia are fleeing from the Guard of High Heaven Pavilion," Jena alarmed him of another development.

"Of course, the moment they thought that I had lost those bastards attacked them..." Sol closed his eyes and raised his hand before himself.

[Using Teleportation]

He snapped his fingers, and both women appeared before him, Grecia crashing into him and getting caught easily while Fuhua slid across the ground and ended up next to Yu who still had her hand raised toward Zhang, offering him her clan plate.

"You would abandon your duties in high heaven for this swindler?"

"I have seen his heart, Father, he is a just man, not a swindler." Yu shook her head. "Please."

"Is there nothing I can do or say to dissuade you, little Yu?" The man asked, his expression going soft and his breath becoming rigid. "You have never left high heaven before..."

"Well..."
