Chapter 78 - Mo Han's Recording
It took a few seconds for the screen to load, and when she saw the author of the post, the grim expression on Li Yilan's face immediately disappeared.
An Luxia wrote this?! She was shameless enough to write a reply? Li Yilan pressed her lips together as she scrolled down to begin reading, narrowing her eyes as she wondered what An Luxia could possibly say.
'Good afternoon, everyone. This is An Luxia, and I am writing this as a reply to the post about me and my biological family story. First of all, I would like to tell the writer of the post to please get her facts straight before writing a post that defames someone else. I have no problem with sending you a lawyer's letter for defamation.'
Li Yilan furrowed her eyebrows together as she leaned back against the bed and continued to read. It was good that she used her small account so no one knew who wrote the post.
'The previous post graciously left out some very important details of my story with my biological family. To begin with, the post made it seem like my biological parents had accidentally thrown me to an adoption center and now they are back for me after finally finding me after all those years.'
Li Yilan's heartbeat sped up as she continued to read, but she calmed herself down upon thinking of the fact that An Luxia had no evidence.
'However, the true story is that my biological parents had thrown me away to an adoption center when I was 3 because my biological mother had found out that she was pregnant again. The doctor had told her it would be a boy, and without the ability to raise two kids, of course they threw me away, the girl. However, to their surprise, the baby ended up not being a boy, but a girl, who turned out to be Li Yilan. I am sure whoever wrote the post also knew about this, but purposely decided to leave this important information out.'
Li Yilan clenched her fists together and scanned the page faster, scrolling through furiously.
'In addition, the images the author of the post included all had false captions. The image of my biological father on the ground was not because I did not give him a seat, but because he sat on the ground himself after I refused to give him 100 thousand dollars. My biological parents did not come back for me because they finally found me, but for money so they could pay for the college tuition of their other beloved daughter. And yes, Li Yilan's college tuition was paid by me.'
"Urghh!!" Li Yilan chucked her phone across the room, and it hit the mirror on her vanity, creating a large crack before the phone rolled down onto the floor.
The lit screen immediately turned black and it was obvious Li Yilan would need to get a new phone.
Her chest moved up and down as she clenched her fists together before she got off her bed and walked over to her phone. She picked it up and only got more furious when it wouldn't turn on. She threw it back down onto the floor and grabbed her laptop before sitting down at her vanity.
She opened up the laptop and went to the school forum, clicking into the article again to finish reading it.
'Therefore, whoever the writer of the article may be, words can kill, but images can too. So, please know what the story is before cluelessly writing captions. The image of my biological mother on the floor was also because she was being shameless first, so my boyfriend had to keep her away. She suffered no injuries whatsoever, and my boyfriend's actions would most likely be deemed as self defense.
In addition, the man next to me is my boyfriend, and he is around my age, so it would be great if the author of the article could remove the photoshopped white hair off of my boyfriend's head, thank you very much. I don't think there is anything wrong with me having a boyfriend, is there? But in a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship, I do not think it is right for me to ask for money from my boyfriend to pay for my own family troubles. Is there anything wrong with that? I don't think so. I am not as shameless as my biological parents.
I do not want to include too many details, because this is my own private matter. However, I do not wish for these false rumors to spread any further, so as evidence, below is a short recording of the meeting in the pictures of the post about me. I am sure that after listening to the recording, everyone will know what is true, and what is fake.'
The writing ended there, and below it, there was indeed a short 30 second recording. Li Yilan shakily moved the cursor up to press play, and she immediately recognized her mother's voice.
'Okay, if you don't want us as parents, that's okay. However, your sister needs money for going to college and we also need money for a house. You - No way'
The recording ended when her father asked for 100 thousand, but it was sufficient to prove that An Luxia's article was true and the article she had written was fake. She did not have any recording and it was obvious that few people would believe her article now with An Luxia's response.
"Ah!" Li Yilan screamed as she slammed the laptop close, refusing to look at the comments because she knew what they would say.
An Luxia! Why did she ruin everything?! Where did the recording even come from?!
---
As they ate dinner, An Luxia couldn't help but ask, "Hanhan, where did you get the recording from? Were you recording it?!"
---
A few hours ago, she was about to click post on the article after reading it through another time, but when she read through it, she couldn't help but worry because there was absolutely no evidence to support her empty words. Would her words be enough?
Her cursor moved over the post button, and she pressed her lips together, lifting her finger up. Just as she was about to click it, a sudden voice stopped her, "Do you need a recording?"
An Luxia whipped around, her heart beating fast for some reason after being scared by Mo Han's sudden words, "Recording? What recording?"
Mo Han pulled out his phone as he ran a towel through his damp hair, "I recorded the conversation at your house when your biological parents came. Would it be of use to your article?"
An Luxia's eyes widened slightly as she turned her chair around, "Really?!"
"Here it is. I'll send it to you."
With the recording now, An Luxia did not have to worry about not having sufficient evidence. A recording was definitely more trustworthy than words.
--- Present
Mo Han smiled as he placed the chopped steak onto An Luxia's plate, "I had started recording after they came in."
An Luxia pursed her lips out, "Why?"
"I had thought that something was off. It was obvious they were up to no good. I had thought just in case, I would record it. I didn't know that it would be of use one day."
An Luxia's smile widened as she took a large bite of the steak, "My little Hanhan is the smartest!"
---
After eating dinner, An Luxia followed Mo Han into his office so she could accompany him while he did some work.
She brought her laptop and opened it up to read some of the comments that had accumulated under her post during this time.
The top comment was short and seemed like a response to the top comment of Li Yilan's post: 'Judge a person by their appearance.'
An Luxia chuckled softly. Although she did not agree with it, it was quite funny for the person to directly respond to the top comment of the original post.
As she scrolled down, she realized that the response to her post was quite positive. Most people chose to believe her with the recording and now the comments were either against the original post or were pitying her.
She originally did not want to accumulate pity with this post, but humans were like that. Now that the true story was out, not only did they stop hating on her, but now they were pitying her and even apologizing to her.
'I knew it! I told you that she was a nice person, and no one believed me!' The one who posted this was the same one who was talking for her underneath Li Yilan's post.
'Ah, I had a bad feeling when the first post came out. I never really believed it either.'
An Luxia sighed and closed the forum, thinking how people were so easily changed. At least they were not spreading false rumors about her anymore.
However, she wasn't done yet.
An Luxia licked her lips as she shut her laptop and stood up, walking over to where Mo Han was seated. She sat down on the armrest of his chair, very close to him, and he immediately froze, looking up at her suspiciously.
An Luxia grinned softly, grabbing onto his arm and shaking it softly, "Little Hanhan, can you help me with something?"
Mo Han raised one eyebrow, turning his chair around slightly so An Luxia lost her balance and fell straight onto his lap, "My pleasure."
An Luxia couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed from the sudden physical contact, but she had to continue with her request, "Do you know how to hack into a phone?"
--- Cute note:
This is so random but thought I would share! I have a boy pet bird and today, we went and bought another girl birdie to be his girlfriend hehehe ^o^
