Chapter 1265 The Past and Present III
1265 The Past and Present III
"Why don't you ask Jack, doesn't he open a Guild there?" Serena was baffled why from all the people he knew he should asked her, the fugitive?
"I cannot, I don't know if they already watching him, besides is no secret I was a former Ultima member" Gavin click his tongue.
"And what about the other ex-ultima members, don't you maintain connection using that shameful porn hub forum, what is it called...'Shake 'til you make it?" serena scoffed.
"You like it? it's my idea though" Gavin said proudly. n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
"...."
"Nah, I don't want to involve them with this" Gavin sighed.
Serena sneered "Yet, you involved me"
Gavin laughed out loud "Well, unlike the others, you already have experience with them so you should have a tip or two to share with me"
Serena's eyebrows furrow "Who are we talking about anyway?"
"It's Dragxtarn and Argus agent" Gavin snickered coldly.
Serena's eyes widened for a moment, she held her breath before shouting at Gavin, "How did you get into trouble with them, are you tired to live?!" her voice was strained with panic.
"It's perks of the job, unfortunately," Gavin said with a resigned voice.
"Then leave the job, are you crazy—" "I can't...this is not just a job, this is important....you should understand this, right" Serena leaned her back weakly on the chair. She understood, how could she not understand she had lost all her life for her job even after all this time she still did not regret it if there was any regret left she hadn't finished what she started which is to know what really happened between Nazareth and the Lucien family, perhaps if she unravels this secret she would understand why all that horror happened.
"I will give you a number, but there's a way to call him so remember, when you called him hung up your phone after the third ring, then you called again but hung up after you heard the second ring after that you called again only then he would answer, understand" Serena carefully explained.
"You always find the weirdest dude" Gavin didn't know whether he should admire her or worry about her.
"When he answers the phone, tell him Serena sent you" "Okay, thanks" Gavin cheerfully said.
"Thanks my as*, you owed me five million Roms!" she will never work for free!
"Five million! I don't have that much!" He exasperated.
Serena didn't care for someone in her situation nothing is more important than money, she need money! "Give me the money and I will give you the number, your choice!" she adamant.
Gavin grits his teeth, he wrecks his brain on how to persuade this money-grubber woman. even though he had the money still, five million Roms is not little so he couldn't give his money just like that. Gavin didn't know what to do but an idea crossed his mind, "Yo, Serena, how about a photo of Lloyd after working out, let me be clear he's only wearing underwear and I have three with different angles, so what do you think are you—" Gavin hasn't finished talking yet, Serena suddenly scream.
"SOLD!"
"Uh?"
"Give me all of it!" her voice deepens.
"Got it!" Gavin answers readily without a shred of guilt after selling his own comrade.
After taking a photo of Lloyd in an inappropriate situation, he was beaten by Lloyd but then Lloyd forgot to delete the photo, who would have thought years later Gavin would benefit from it! Gavin was grateful that he was not beaten for nothing.
Elsewhere, Lloyd suddenly felt a chill run down his spine.

It's been three days since they arrived at Eagle Rock City during that time Jay and Clift found the animosity between two Powerful Families in this city, the Augburn Family and The Hamilton Family.
One of their interests in the hostility of these two families because the Hamilton family is building in collaboration with the Poko-Poko company and for both of them Poko-Poko is an unforgettable part of their lives, so much so that Lucas sends one of Harland's big companies which Is the Luminescent company to provide some assistance to revive the Poko-Poko brand.
"Do you know the feud between Hamilton and the Augburn family started after the accident of Hugo Hamilton's son" Clift suddenly said as they drove to The Slayer Beast Guild after another dissatisfied investigation into Gavin's whereabouts came to naught.
"I didn't pay attention to it, why do you care?" Jay's eyes were still on the laptop in his lap.
"I sent Noxcra agents to monitor the movements of the S.A.I.N.T. organization and also Luxemborough and also find out who was connected with them then I got interesting news that a representative of the S.A.I.N.T. organization had met Hugo but it was not clear for what reason but we know the origins of the founding of the Ellecant group "It was from making weapons that only after the Dark Age War ended they switched to making electronics, especially for households," said Lloyd.
"It's a drastic change but not strange, maybe he thinks nowadays it's more about making household electronics than weapons but why would such a suspicious organization contact them?" Jay felt there was something strange about this.
"Unfortunately we don't know for sure, but what is certain is that the relationship between the S.A.I.N.T. organization and the Hamilton family is not good because I heard they refused to send the Saintess to save their comatose child at that time?" Lloyd said.
"Maybe they think the Hamiltons aren't that important..." Jay answered.
"Well, whatever the reason, it put the Hamilton family into despair, they even sent an official letter asking for your help?" Clift looked at it meaningfully.
Jay withdrew his gaze from his laptop "I don't remember..."
"Of course, you don't remember after all at that time Lucas' condition was..." Clift didn't continue his sentence but Jay knew what he meant when they were trying to deal with the foreign object that was eating away at Lucas' body.
"Then what happened to the Hamilton family, is his son...—" Still, Jay felt a bit guilty for ignoring the request of a desperate man.
"He was saved though," Clift answered briskly "The Hamilton sent a hunter to hunt Zhyger to get the liver for his Son" Clift raised his eyebrows as they both knew what that meant.
"The Ice Queen cursed, huh," Jay said knowingly.
"If that reason is no wonder the Hamilton family becomes desperate," Clift said.
"But the liver can only alleviate the symptoms, they must find the real cause which would be the priest-level beast Maren" Jay's brows gradually furrowed.
"Based on reports from the accident site, Ethan Hamilton and his team had an accident at Quiet Peak Mountain, from there we can confirm that the monster they faced was The Maren."
"Did they succeed in subduing the creature?" Jay was curious.
Clift grinned "They were"
According to Jay, not many hunters can face Maren, especially nowadays when most of the strong, experienced hunters died during the Dark Age War.
"Who are they?" Jay closes his laptop as he finally gives full attention to their discussion.
"Two people from the great saber group, Garrof Windfield and Lloyd Bryner, and guessed what, they were all ex-ultima members which means Jack Quaid would know them as well" a conspiratorial smile spread across Clift's face.
"What a coincidence but is it just the two of them? Even though they are former Ultima members it would be impossible for just the two of them to face Maren" Jay has faced Maren before so he knows how strong Maren is.
"Well, the strange thing is, there is no clear information on the other two people who joined the hunted other than they were a pair of husband and wife, maybe we should ask Mr. Quaid about that." Clift parked their car.
"Is it important, we have more important matters to deal with," Jay frowned, he couldn't stop worrying about Lucas' condition?
"Just guts feeling, just think about it, Jack Quaid, Garrof Windfield, Lloyd Bryner, and Gavin Austin, they were all former members of Ultima, so you could say we were all involved with the S.A.I.N.T. organization and Luxemborough one way or another, so who knows it might lead somewhere...." Clift said while opening the car door.
Jay's mouth curled down, Clift's words made sense, he hoped something satisfying would come out of this because time was running out and he didn't know how much longer Lucas could hold on.
When they arrived at the Beast's Slayer guild Maddy immediately greeted them, "Welcome, sir, Jack has been waiting for your arrival, let me take you there." Her smile was a bit stiff out of nervousness.
Jay smiled while giving a polite nod to the young girl, "Thank you, Madeline"
"It's a pleasure and please call me Maddy" Her cheeks reddened she was still not used to Jay and Clift's friendliness but again that was to be expected for the Archknight, they were very different from other high-ranking officials who liked throwing weight around the ordinary people.
"Your guild seems more packed than usual," Clift glanced at the line of hunters queuing at the counter.
"Yes, more and more Beasts are appearing, not to mention the appearance of that strange tree-like beast, as a result, we now have to report it to the WGA, the World Guild Association, after which they will follow up with the Paladins and the Saintesses," Maddy snorted derisively.
Guessing from the way Maddy spoke, Jay became curious. "It seems you don't like the idea of working with them?"
Maddy reflexively covered her mouth, realizing that she had acted unprofessionally by outspoken her personal opinion to the client, as someone who worked in the Guild she was expected to always be neutral without taking sides with any particular organization or group if she couldn't then she must keep her thought for herself.
"Um, I'm sorry....It was inappropriate" she smiled shyly.
"It's fine, Maddy" Jay comforted her.
Soon after they arrived at Jack's office, "Good evening, Mr Tornbery - Mr Equillan, how are you?" Jack held out his hand for a handshake.
"We're fine, how are you, Mr. Quaid?" Jay shook his hand.
"Please call me, Jack" he then shook Clift's hand "Please have a seat, would you like coffee or tea?"
"We're fine with everything" Jay politely said.
Maddy bowed her head and then left the room to prepare drinks for their esteemed guest.
"So...I guess you were going to ask about Gavin, unfortunately, he still hasn't contacted any of us," Jack said with an apologetic face.
"What do you think is the reason why he didn't contact you guys?" Jay asked.
"There are three possible reasons," said Jack, holding up three fingers. "One, he died, second, he was caught or third....the third reason is the reason I'm most worried about..." Jack said with a troubled look.
Clift raised his eyebrows and chuckled in amusement "More worrying than getting caught, or getting killed?"
Jack wasn't joking at all, he took a deep breath and then said "The third reason is that he might think our position was compromised..."
