Rex blinked his eyes as he retained a portion of his sanity.

It felt like he was the third person in his own life.

He couldn't move his body freely but he reckoned he could still talk properly.

But even then, he at least retained his consciousness, so that he wouldn't need to piece back the puzzles of what had happened during his rampage when the Demon Moon passed, and it is a good thing.

Rex watched the Order Beasts as the three were surprised to meet each other.

However, they were smart enough to realize that they were lured here by those Dark Elves.

Even then, the air around them was tense, filled with the law of the wilderness.

"Say, Kyran..." Rex whispered, his back against Kyran. "Do you really care about Naela?"

"Yes, I now know what you feel. How do you get rid of this sinking feeling? It's suffocating"

Just like Rex, once they were close, Kyran's sanity returned enough for him to think.

It was not his rampage self before, this was really Kyran.

Recalling how Naela looked when he visited before—Rex nodded, Kyran did feel what he felt and that was not false. Although maybe not as painful as Rex's, who had his parents killed, it was close.

Grinning, exposing his sharp fangs, Rex answered.

"Getting rid of it? Why do you want that?"

"It's suffocating... remembering her state makes me hard to breathe"

"Good, that's good. That suffocating feeling is a reminder of what would happen if you're not strong enough—don't find a way to erase it but remember it. Learn to live with it so that next time you will anticipate the bad things before they could happen"

Upon hearing this, Kyran's eyes widened.

He reached for his chest, the sinking feeling was inside of him and it made his heart throb.

'Is this feeling what made Rex keep those he cared about, safe...? He learned to live with this feeling? How? It's impossible—I don't think I could but...' Kyran turned to look behind, he saw Rex's side face and felt a newfound admiration. 'I want to be like him!'

Oblivious to what was going on inside Kyran's mind, Rex focused on the moment.

System, how did I retain my consciousness right now?

Rex nodded his head, Kyran being here with him was a good thing.

"Stay close to me for a moment," He said and glanced to the left.

A mutated hedgehog was there, it was massive and its entire body was rock solid.

Scanning the mutated hedgehog, Rex's frown deepened as it was extremely strong.

It's almost as strong as Dravitar? No way, it's only a Knight.

<Notice: An Order Beast needs a couple of weeks or even months before the energy inside of them can mold their bodies properly—and in Kragos' case, its Elemental Order is already mature and molding its body>

Upon reading the notifications, Rex's heart began to race.

Just from the notification alone, he deduces that Dravitar hasn't finished maturing.

It was still in the early stage and the stat Rex scanned back then wasn't its full power.

Rex then turned to his left, to the mutated rock snake.

Just like Kragos, the mutated rock snake—Brassik was of the same race, Ground Titan—and also had the same power, Stone Terra Titan. Because of that, their stats were similar, Kragos is more durable while Brassik is faster.

But the most troublesome one was the mutated hare.

Even during the earlier exchange, it held its own and was even able to retaliate fiercely.

It was very fast due to being a Lightning Knight.

Scanning all three of the Order Beasts lured to this place, it might seem like Rex was trying to achieve the impossible, but he has the help of the Demon Moon right above him—and even if it somehow goes wrong, he still has the Moon Order skill.

It should be fine, the night is still young.

"Living with the feeling should be a priority, but you still have to punish yourself," Rex said, he was going to guide Kyran on how to be better. "If there's no punishment—your mind wouldn't think your blunder was wrong. So, kill that hedgehog. Just think that if you fail Naela will die"

"I won't fail..." Kyran muttered, his eyes burning with determination.

But determination alone wouldn't allow Kyran to win against the hedgehog, Rex knew that.

However, if these Order Beasts also fought one another, Kyran would be able to perform and take that hedgehog down. As for me, failing is not an option too. If I fail here—I won't be able to protect everyone, including saving Edward!

I need to upgrade my talent and reach the tenth-rank re-.

Just as Rex was thinking that, his breath hitched in his throat.

Unlike what he expected, the three Order Beasts that were surprised earlier suddenly made a change of heart. All three of them were smart enough to reckon that they were lured here by those Dark Elves from earlier, and in their eyes, Rex and Kyran were a part of that group.

Almost in sync, the three Order Beasts growled and slowly turned towards Rex and Kyran.

Rex and Kyran felt a chill once all three beasts turned toward them.

A massive amount of killing intent locked onto them.

Gritting his teeth, Rex lowered his stance and shouted, "Get ready, they're coming!"

CRACK!

As soon as he shouted that, the ground cracked open with a violent stomp, from Kragos that caused a mini earthquake. Rex—and Kyran leaped skyward to avoid the quake but they were now exposed to aerial attacks.

Glaring to his right, Rex saw a streak of lightning that was moving incredibly fast.

It was so fast that it reached Rex first before the booming sound it created.

Rex was thrown away and so did Kyran, both landed on either side of the glade.

Tch! Separating us? A beast shouldn't think and form plans like this.

But being separated caused a pang to his head again, making him dizzy.

Luckily, Kyran was able to regroup with Rex, he already marked the entire glade, so that he could teleport around with his dark element. Kyran reappeared beside Rex, easing the pain before Kyran looked downward.

He saw countless rock snakes were already biting and climbing their legs.

Must be Brassik's underlings.

Kyran turned to ask Rex whether they should go through with the plan or not but before he could do that, a violent gush of energy exploded from Rex. His King Mark glowed, however, there was a fourth, prominent color that overpowered his other kingly energies.

It was the Demon Moon's moonlight energy.

Rex flexed his eyes and growled, the Demon Moon got to him again as his body swelled even further. He became bigger and in the next second—he galloped on all fours like a beast more than a man.

Responding to his attack, Voltara picked up its pace and charged head-on.

Blitz!

Boom!

Upon colliding with Rex, a powerful shockwave radiated, peeling the ground.

But even then, their strength was about equal as they both recoiled backward.

Swoosh!

Pulling nothing back, Rex activated his Unholy Claws of the Reaper Skill, channeling Origin energy into his claws and swiped Voltara. His attack threw it to the side hard, but Rex was following closely behind, his speed matched the speed of Voltara's roll.

Before Voltara could even recover, he was poised to strike once again.

However, his arm was suddenly bonded by Bassik's tail as it coiled—and wrapped around his entire body, choking him with bone-crushing strength. Rex's body grew so big, that even the snake's length could only wrap around his right arm and body.

Roar!!

Rex bared his fangs and bitten Brassik's rock skin.

He enhanced his fangs with the Alpha Predominance Fangs skill.

Even then, its skin was too hard, his fangs couldn't pierce completely through and got stuck.

As he was restrained by Brassik, rock rapidly encased his entire body.

Then, Brassik threw Rex to the sky for Voltara to strike him with a powerful lightning charge, shattering the rock, and also hitting Rex, cleanly. But the combo was relentless—Rex's body was caught mid-air by Brassik's tail.

He was then slammed multiple times into the ground, each slam quaking the ground.

Despite the Demon Moon's enhancement, he was overwhelmed.

But as this process continued, his hunger climbed higher inside.

Rex was thrown once again, sent rolling across the ground with bruises marring his entire body—and once he recovered and raised his gaze, he saw Kyran was pierced by multiple sharp quills.

Falling right next to him, coughing blood badly.

More rock snakes began climbing Kyran, biting on him viciously.

Each one of these rock snakes was at least eighth-rank realm, they were not pushovers.

As opposed to feeling stressed, Rex grabbed Kyran by the head and lifted him.

"What's wrong, Kyran? Is that all you got?" He whispered devilishly. "I can still see that damn hedgehog still fresh and in top condition, you did not even wound it. Where's the confidence you had earlier?"

Rex cackled but Kyran was still silent.

At least eight quills were impaling his body, blood drizzling down to the ground.

He wasn't dead, his regeneration was kicking in but he was weak.

Glancing around the place Rex swiped his claws—sending red force slashes to the ground—killing dozens of the rock snakes with each swipe. He then knelt down, grabbed a handful of rock snake carcasses, and shoved them into Kyran's mouth forcefully.

"Here, eat, let me give you a hand" Rex laughed, shoving carcass after carcass.

His entire body was brimming with the Demon Moon's light.

Even though the Demon Moon allowed him to recognize friends from foes, that didn't mean he would also be sane. Since the battle had only begun—Rex can't have Kyran falling down like this.

Compared to Kyran, Kragos was way stronger.

It was quite impossible for him to beat Kragos, not at his current power level.

But since he agreed to fight Kragos, he has to see it to its end.

Being fed by the carcasses, Kyran's wounds closed up rapidly and the quills fell down to the ground one by one. His eyes then jolted open, the surge of power inside of him, was rapid—devouring those carcasses was giving him power.

Knowing Kyran's constitution, he would gain power temporarily the more he devours.

Due to that, Rex fed Kyran relentlessly.

Recovering fully, he slapped Rex's hand away and roared at the Order Beasts.

"That's it! Keep on fighting, don't stop until that thing is dead!" Rex laughed hard.

He was basked in the sensation of battle, the Demon Moon's influence made him happy and hungry to battle a strong opponent. Just like that, both of them resumed the battle. It was a bloody scene and their clashes scared the other mutated animals away.

Since Rex fell to the hunger again, Kyran was also pulled the same, both becoming insane.

On the other hand, Iris and the other Dark Elves were watching from a cover.

Rex could battle one Knight but three at the same time was doubtful even with Kyran.

But even when the night was still young, their powers were increasing rapidly.

Kyran, in particular, his aura was way below the Knights earlier.

Now, his power was rapidly increasing, and nearing the Knight.

He now has a chance.

'If they're this strong now, what happened when the Demon Full Moon reaches its peak...?'
