Chapter 81: Destroying All Hope

Chapter 81: Destroying All Hope

What Zeke and his companions do not know is that, a wave of soldiers, the primary ones, have already been deployed in every continent. In short, they arrived a second too late in order to stop Gallio. And this is mainly due to Pier's tampering of the transportation.

He made it so that, Zeke and his allies would come to Elysium a week later. This is possible because, the god of mischief and deceit has a hundred minor gods backing him up. Within this span of time, a lot of things have already occurred. The first is Gallio's deployment of his forces to every other continent.

In a war, information is everything. The two key figures in this fight learned this through different means. Zeke understood this from all the strategy games that he played. Skill cooldown, terrain advantages, special buffs, single use items, all this and more contributes to gaining more chances in wining. As for Gallio, he learned this lesson after he got burnt in one of his fights a thousand years ago. Without knowing that his enemy is a half dragon, he went into a fight thinking it would be another normal soldier.

Gallio applied this when he began the invasions. None of the continents were aware of the horrors Gallio did in order to strengthen his troops. They did not know of the mutations, the trainings, the experiments, and the forges. With this, the succeeding events aren't shocking anymore.

Magic nullifiers.

Mutations imitating ancient monsters.

Technologically advanced weaponries.

Half Blood Elves

This is what fed Gallio's forces. Aside from the initial shock of portals suddenly opening up within their continents, the surprise of all this coming from a land that six supposed to be filled with peace loving elves caught all continents by surprise. This led to a lot of regrets painted by the massacre of their forces, destruction of towns and, looting of resources before any proper countermeasure has been formed. This is also the reason why Zeke and his companions did not see any war brewing within Elysium.

Gallio handled everything so well that no harm came to the elven continent. With his forces pushing forward with overwhelming strength, the natives of each continent had no other choice but to focus on defense, with very little to offer when it came to offense.

And, just as Zeke and his companions began fighting back, Gallio also had his fair share of fighting in the front lines. An act he continued even as Glade finally contacted him.

"My King." Glade began.

"This better be a reasonable excuse as to why the second wave of our forces haven't been deployed yet." The king said, swinging his blade and destroying three gigantic robotic contraptions made by the dwarves.

"My report is actually something concerning that my King. You see, we seem to have gotten ourselves into a bit of trouble." The king couldn't see it but Glade is actually wearing a wide grin on his face at that very moment. And although Zeke and his comrades have yet to even halve the troops of Gallio, Glade found the perfect opportunity to end it all.

"Well? Spit it out then!" Gallio commanded, with the sounds of screaming and explosions being hard over the communication channel. Gallio ran on top of another mechanical contraption that began spewing lava on the ground. This melted some of Gallio's troops but, not for long as the elven king hurled the machine back to the elves. This sent the lava spraying everywhere. Gallio also got stung but, with his level of regeneration, a few third-degree burns aren't a problem for him.

"There are intruders that have entered our camp and, our forces are rapidly getting decreased by them. The most problematic of these is the one in the capital, that's why I diverted some of our forces there." Glade continued.

There was a short pause and, Glade got nervous over this. He thought that his cover might have gotten blown by something he said but, this didn't seem to be the case as the King laughed a second later.

"HAHAHAHA" The king roared, making the dwarves back away a bit from the intimidation they felt.

"Ahh all this fighting got my head clouded for a bit. Glade, it seems like part of those intruders are my wife and son." The king replied, in a tone which Glade could recognize to be full of excitement and thrill.

What Gallio said is due to the trackers placed on his wife and son. Ever since Zeke and crew left Mythos, Gallio couldn't sense nor track Sylvia no matter how hard he tried. This intrigued and infuriated him who developed that tracker to have no flaws whatsoever. After two months of being unable to track her, he finally gave up and as such, he forgot that the sensor even works in the first place.

With Glade's report he finally realized that it activated. Meaning only one thing, they are both back. The last pieces of the puzzle are now back carrying Windsprite DNA. The final ingredient to creating his perfect vessel, one which could release his whole potential and strength.

"What should we do?" Glade continued.

"That much should be obvious. Release those creatures once the number of deaths has reached the necessary number. Find out where my wife is located and, transport me there as soon as you can." Glade could hear a whole wall collapsing over the communication channel. He also heard the sound of more flesh being slashed and more screams being offered because of the war begun by the mad king.

"Understood." Was Glade's short response as he performed the command.

This short response explains what happened to the Windsprites. At their current location, Glade released [Chimeras] and, if only Zeke could see them with his [Analysis] this is what would've shown:

[Name: None]

[Species: Chimera]

[Specification: Summoned Chimera]

[Rank: Unranked]

[Information: A creature which died off during the time of the Dwellers in Mythos, the chimeras were a source of fear to all the original inhabitants. These creatures could adapt to any situation and, evolve accordingly if not killed off. The Dwellers decided to finish all of these creatures off in order to make Mythos safer, succeeding in the act but finding out later on that researches were conducted on the summoning of the creature.]

[Information: A summoned chimera take the shape of whatever it is that has been offered in order to awaken it. Adding some parts from monsters in the mix, it nevertheless retains the shape of the sacrifices made.]

[Information: Although overwhelmingly powerful, the conditions in order to summon a chimera are very difficult to accomplish. The first is that, a single blood type amounting to as much as a lake's worth of water should be present. The second is that, the offerings should be in a close enough distance with one another, otherwise the summoning would fail.]

[Information: Once released, Chimeras will register every mana emitting object as an enemy. The only way to stop them is for the summoner to say so or, to have their timer of (1 minute) wear off, dissolving the summons completely.]

The conditions could be met because, all of Gallio's solders have his blood flowing through their veins. With the war ensuing, Gallio knew that a wild card such as this would be needed in the long run and, he is proven right. Even on the battlefields of war, he has already summoned a couple of Chimeras and, since their summoning time is so short, the enemies do not even have any time to analyze them. Either they run away from the creature in fear or, die before they could even begin stepping back.

Glade can also perform this summoning. As Gallio's most trusted aide, Glade was given this skill in order to defend Elysium. Not because Gallio loves the continent but because, all his research laboratories and information gathered are located within the continent.

"Summon." Glade commanded, activating Gallio's blood and creating [Chimeras], monsters whose presence cannot be felt unless one has the ability to see mana.

This led to the succeeding events wherein, both Sylph and Allesiah got easily taken down by the Chimeras. However, Glade did not finish them off. Unlike Sylvia, Gallio ahs no tracker placed on these sisters and, he knows that there is a chance to make them indebted to him somehow. Hence, he stopped the Chimeras from dealing the finishing blow and instead, ordered these creatures to hide the Windsprites before their summoning duration expires.

Of course, Glade did not spare Zeke. He also summoned two [Chimeras] in his area just as soon as the human defeated one of Gallio's generals. This does not breach their contract as it is not Glade who is causing Zeke harm. It is Gallio, who's intention is extended through Glade.

"If you can't beat those, then don't hope to even come close to denting Gallio." Glade thought to himself, waiting for the results as he finally opened the portal which lead Gallio to Sylvia's location.

The Blood Elf Monarch watched everything from a distance. He couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in having Sylvia as his wife although, she is technically not his but rather Hark's. This much didn't matter anymore because he dominated Hark's body completely, without any resistance from the human for a long time now.

The next parts came quickly. He entered Sylvia's field of vision and immediately activated a virus he planted within Keith's body. This is enough to leave Sylvia's head in a haze on what to do next.

Gallio moved swiftly, jumping up and reaching Sylvia by the throat. He got Keitha and threw the boy on a nearby tree, deactivating the virus as he felt the child would already be dead. He then slammed Sylvia to the wall over and over again until, he felt consciousness drift away from her.

The king roared in laughter as he saw the battered elf and the half-dead child. With a single tear dropping from his eye, Gallio felt Hark fighting back for control for the first time. A resistance which the king found to be futile as he showed all his teeth in a hair-raising smile and, saying merrily to Sylvia.

"Honeeey. I'm home."
