Chapter 145: Sleeping With The Dragons
Chapter 145: Sleeping With The Dragons
The following day, everyone got deployed to fulfill their roles based on the meeting they held. The gamer, in particular, got out earlier than the whole group; destroying fortress after fortress mercilessly. He planned to finish everything before the day ended which was the reason why he started earlier on.
As for the instructions, Zeke left everything for Heron to disseminate. The [Dragon Morpher] was able to fulfill this role without any trouble. Including the most vital part of it which was the [Party] that they were not allowed to disable.
"If there is no other question, you best be on your way." Heron said to the group after doing her part.
The elites immediately followed; making sure that the whole plan was properly up on their heads. It wasn't a problem even if they forgot because, they had the [Party] feature, allowing them to communicate with the other members anytime through the [Voice Chat]. This was only one of the few reasons why Heron specifically instructed them to never turn it off.
They made sure to bring all the things they needed especially the bag which contained all the essentials which Zeke himself produced. Aside from this, Zeke didn't forget to include additional defensive measures for them. Unknown to the members of the elites, Zeke placed another crystal on their newly repaired weapons, allowing him to teleport at their exact location if the need ever arises.
He gave them all [Teleportation Scrolls] which conveniently transported them to the locations they needed to be in. This was a new [Feature] added to his [Party] option which had this specific information attached:
[Information: Any member of the party can be teleported to an area as long as the gamer was able to explore it before. The gamer can also restrict this whenever needed.]
This also meant one thing: That they got teleported underground instead of above the surface. After all, during the twelve years when he everyone presumed him dead, Zeke was actually moving underground and creating a cave and tunnel for himself. He was constantly on the move underneath the surface; furthering his plans without anyone even noticing.
This wasn't limited to the Demon Continent however. In fact, he already had plans for the other continents but, these would have to wait for after the Demon Continent has been successfully stabilized, claimed, and protected.
Hence, out came the elites who began fulfilling the mission assigned to them. It wasn't an easy task of course and they met a lot of negative feedback and comments but, as soon as they demonstrated the power of the [Purifying Crystals], the citizens of the towns soon learned to trust and follow them. And so, without even needing half a day, every town allowed the elites to lead them.
"Miss Julia where do we put this thing?" One of the citizens said, carrying a large pile of wooden planks on his shoulder.
"Just follow Mordred sir, she'll guide you through the process." The healer Julia answered, looking at the blueprint provided by Zeke.
It was a very detailed and elaborate plan which would've made it difficult to understand but, since Zeke placed every part of the instruction clearly, the elites were able to follow through. Julia, in particular, had little trouble following it because back on earth she was an architecture student who excelled at the university.
Of course, everything didn't magically get created in a single day. In fact, construction would take at least a week to finish but, they were steadily making progress. And instead of doing everything all at once, they focused on creating the water supply and the crop fields first.
"How about the houses, can we move them as planned?" Julia asked, having a slight innovation in store for the town. She wanted all to have a backyard of their own where all the essential plants were simply within reach.
"We probably need to finish the waterways first and also feed the citizens properly. They've been through a lot ever since King Glade ruled and, frankly speaking, even with all this drive, we cannot function properly on an empty stomach." The town elder said, with Julia nodding in agreement.
"We're not in any rush sir. Plus my friend there seems to be more than willing to work her ass off until she goes limp." She continued, looking at Mordred who was carrying more wooden planks than any male citizen of the town.
"COME OOON GUUUYS IS THAT ALL YOU GOOOT!" She shouted, making the men working with her shout in unison. They suddenly got fired up even more, working as vigorously as Mordred.
The town elder laughed and Julia followed immediately. It was a fun sight to see for both of them. For one, the town elder hasn't seen the other citizens this lively in a long time. While for Julia, she just enjoyed the moment of stillness. She wasn't an active part of the fights at all. For the most part, all she needed to do was heal her subordinates.
Now that she could actually participate, she was more than happy to lead the town. She handled everything discreetly and calmly whereas, if it was Mordred, then they would not have only started on the wrong foot; they would've started with a lot of citizens getting a beatdown before realizing: "ohh they're allies."
"What about the wood supply? Have you already identified where we could get supplies while we grow our own?" Julia continued and, this was how calmly and peacefully things went for every town and village entered by the elites.
Unknown to them, Zeke actually had a hidden agenda as to why he deployed the elites to that specific mission. He thought that the kids needed a break from all the fighting. It wouldn't be good if all they got exposed to in Mythos were battles and killings because the world was so much more than this. In fact, if they weren't sent there as heroes but rather as tourists, they'd be nothing less than amazed and charmed by such a wonderful world.
That's why he cooked this mission up for them. It was technically a real part of his plan; just that, there were some changes made in order to accommodate the elites actually having time to rest and relax. And that's exactly what Julia felt. She was calm even though there were still a lot left to do.
"What are the updates on the land?" Julia asked, wondering if the demons have begun plowing it and creating areas where the water could flow through.
"We have begun everything as you have instructed. All that's needed are the waterways and we'll be able to plant the seeds." The elder replied, with Julia offering a warmhearted smile.
"Thank you for all your hard work." She said.
Before the day finished, Zeke was already done with his mission. There was a total of fifty fortresses that needed to be taken down and, Zeke never had any difficulty on any of them. In fact, he left all the fighting to his [Conjures] as he went straight into the areas within each fortress that contained the information he needed.
"Ahh pipe down will you?" He said out loud, hearing all the flesh tearing attacks and screams coming from every direction. Even the enemy generals who transformed to their [Primal State] held no chance with three of Zeke's [Conjured Knights] attacking at the same time.
There was only one thing which the gamer looked for and that was information. He needed information about the current state of Sylph and about the whereabouts of the other Windsprites. With how things stood, he was sure that the other two would also be holding high positions within the remaining continents.
"I'd prefer that rather than knowing that you're already dead." He said to himself, knowing that this may also be a probability if the other two were not converted to Sylph's state.
With all the fortresses getting dealt with, Zeke was still unsuccessful in finding any clues and this frustrated him. So, to get his mind out of this, he immediately went to the next mission area with the title of [Chaos Dragon Lair] appearing on his [Minimap].
He was able to collect this information from one of the fortresses raided. Of course, not all the generals knew of the whereabouts of the [Chaos Dragons] making it a top secret and confidential piece of information.
It was a huge rift; one located on a part of the continent so desolate that, no town was nearby. Even plants couldn't grow on the ground and the air itself was dry as it was suffocating. Down the rift, he tried to see what awaited him but Zeke couldn't make anything out of it. He didn't try throwing a stone as it may rouse the dragons. There was also an eerie amount of black mist covering whatever lay there but, Zeke was sure that the enemies were there. In fact, he could even hear them growling from his current position.
"After I'm done with you, this continent will be safe. But that doesn't mean it'll be easy." Zeke said, already feeling drained from all the enemies he needed to defeat.
Of course, the gamer had something in store for these creatures. In fact, he was so sure that it would work because, it involved making use of his [Twelve Conjured Knights] and a little extra which he needed to begin preparing.
"Unfortunately for you guys, you're not allowed to roam freely nor move without any commands. You are simply stuck there and you don't' even know it yet." Zeke said, beginning to release the same mist of mana created by [Cloud of Dreams].
"For now, let's both get some rest okay? I'll kill you all as soon as the sun rises tomorrow." He continued, setting up a tent for him to sleep in for the night.
Zeke plans to fill the whole rift with this skill. But for that to happen, he needed at least and eight-hour worth of time. The area will both be filled with the [Cloud of Dreams] while also creating a barrier for good measure. Even if he slept, the spell would continue being poured because, Zeke had [Gamer's Mind] which could function even as he rested.
"Sleep well guys." He said, finally getting some shut eye.
