Chapter 223 Turning Tables [Pt 2]
"Come!" I declared with a wide smile, excited about the bold act of Sarah and her men, they had walked right into it, everything was going all according to plan.
There were about a dozen of them, and they had me encircled probably thinking they had me cornered, but little did they know that they were the ones trapped in this situation.
A talk knight clad in black armour approached me, swinging his large double-handed sword to my torso. The strike was certain to cut through your average person into two.
I didn't feel the need to activate any skills or wield any weapon, this lot were all just too weak.
The blade hummed as it swept through the air and at me, and then it went silent, and everyone stopped. My eyes turned to Sarah, seeing her mouth agape in shock, clutching her dress.
'Hmmm, you don't know what you're dealing with, amateurs.'
I had the tip of the sword in my fingers held up and unmoving. The soldier was befuddled by this at first, but then swiftly began pulling at his sword once he realized the situation, but his sword didn't budge, he simply lacked the strength.
"So much for an ambush." I said and swiftly delivered a punch, knocking the wind out of the man, my fist like blasted iron, and he turned limp and fell.
"Go!" Sarah cried, throwing her arms and snapping the men out of their shock. Surprisingly, they still listened to their lady and came at me.
Fortunately Drius kept a number busy while I defended Theo and neutralized those who came too close, it was much too easy.
Drius pulled his weight greatly against the men, the wooden armor, sword combined with his martial arts gave him great advantage over the men, and he easily overwhelmed them as much as I did, and soon, there were no men left to be thrown at us.
"What?" Sarah blurted, afraid, her face white as if she saw ghosts of those she had killed in her climb on the ladder of power.
She looked at her daughters and they were just as lost as she was. She certainly didn't expect her so-called powerful guards to be neutralized so quickly, her dire plan fell so easily, like a tower of cards.
"But… Th–They, Th-Theo." She stammered, her mind scrambling for thoughts to convey.
Theo was sitting the whole time, then he stood, and at that moment he seemed taller than all of us in the room.
"Grandmother, you threatened to spill blood in a Lyma's home, in my home, just weeks after your son's blood was spilled. Is that what you wanted Sarah? Coming to console me, to visit and see how all was going, they were all lies weren't they? I can't believe you, you two as well, Fiona and Margarette." The two sisters bowed their heads in shame soon as they heard their names, to think a boy like Theo could be so articulate, could sound so powerful.
"I hereby banish you all from the realm of Lyma, begone and pack your things!" Theo declared.
Sarah felt herself cringe in fear and I smirked at that.
"You insolent…"
"Sarah" I called her name.
"You heard the Lord, you're not to be here any longer, you have more than overstayed your welcome. Killing you, and the guards would be justice, but we don't want to soil this mansion with blood, especially since it's new and all that." I paused, watching her eyes and body language, she had lost, and she knew she couldn't do more.
"If you do intend to bring the law to this, I assure you, you would totally lose, and embarrassingly so for we have recorded the shameless events that transpired here, you should be ashamed Lady Sarah." Mikey said and took a stride, closing the gap between them.
They all saw what those gloved hands could do, they didn't want to be on the receiving end.
Fiona was the first to dash out of the dinning room, Margarette followed, and then Sarah, but before Sarah left, she looked at us and fought to utter the words,
"This isn't over."
She then opened the doors and walked down the hallway.
"Drius, ensure they're leaving." Theo commanded, and the trusted knight left his side and went after the women.
When Drius left did the room feel relaxed, though bodies of men laid around.
"Luke, how did I do?" The refined noble leader demeanor was gone, and before me was a ten year old boy, trying his best to be useful to his subjects.
I smiled and brushed his hair lightly, "You did well Theo, your father would be proud."
"Let's just hope Sarah doesn't get too shameless about this, otherwise we might need to spill some blood, but just a hitzy little bit."
I really didn't want to have to kill in this mansion, it would rub off wrongly doing so in the family's home, and though I believe Luke to be able to accept the fact that some people needed to die, I wasn't totally comfortable killing with him around him.
Realizing this, I smiled,
'When did I start becoming responsible, I feel like an older brother.'
Indeed, I did feel like an older brother, and little Theo was the little one I had to make sure grew right.
Theo left where he stood and walked to one of the windows and peered outside, sighting his cousins, aunts and grandmother being led out of a place they were once welcomed in.
And though, I know he understood, it still did hurt him, he was after all still a child, and he had known them to be family for a while.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
It was a betrayal, and he was pained.
"What are you going to do about them?" Theo asked of the guards that laid around.
"Don't worry about that, I'll get them out of here to join your grandmother, don't sweat it."
Yes I couldn't kill them, though they've been shameless, I had no desire to be as shameless as they were, their men may live only this once.
"<Grand Rock>" I summoned my trusty companion.
