Chapter 105 - Don't Die
"Yes, my lord. The situation in the mortal realm has slowly gone out of control. There are a lot of problems that we cannot possibly contain on our own The foremost of them is the fact that there is no proper board of control." Angela started speaking.
Lucas looked at Angela with confused eyes. He did not understand what she was speaking about. After droning on for minutes, she was not even close to touching the actual proper topic.
Odin nodded as he looked at Lucas.
"This woman had said a lot of things, but nowhere do I hear anything about Ragnarok. Care to explain?" Odin asked Lucas.
"There seems to be some sort of problem. She does not remember it for some reason. Maybe her memory was altered. Was Loki involved? He likes to do all this stuff." Lucas asked.
"I see." Odin stopped for a moment. He then glanced at Angela who was looking at him meekly. She was looking at him like he was his master, and she did not have any of the personality that she was showing during her time with Lucas for the past few days.
Odin stepped up and stroked her hair. Angela flinched, but she did not stop him and let him do what he wanted to do.
"I see." Odin sighed. He snapped his fingers once more, and Angela disappeared once more. Odin looked at Lucas once more.
"This is depressing. It seems that you are right. There is a problem. I cannot confirm if it is Ragnarok, but it does warrant your entrance to Asgard. Your friend's memory was altered, and her soul has a branding. We are dealing with your goddamn father again this time. I will let you continue your stay in Valhalla until all of this is cleared. Do not cause too much trouble. Do not worry, bearer of Fenrir. Your voice is heard this time." Odin said as he disappeared from where he stood.
Lucas nodded, but he was a little confused as to what was happening. For one, he certainly did not expect Angela to be suddenly affected by something, and for her to lose her memories. He felt a bout of rage towards Loki, who was probably the one who did all of this. He also did not understand why Odin left all of a sudden. He looked around in the empty space.
"What the hell am I going to do here for the next few hours? I know that this guy is not going to come back until a little time has passed. Fenrir? Any ideas? How the hell do I leave this space? I don't understand Odin's powers as much as you do." Lucas asked.
"Give me a few moments. It has taken me a lot of self control to not ravage that old man. I need to take a few breaths." Fenrir said.
"Alright. Good job, I guess? But remember, the more time that I spend here, the more bored you are going to get." Lucas said.
"I know, I know. Just give me a few." Fenrir nodded.
After a few minutes, Lucas coughed all of a sudden. His shirt started tearing, and from his back, a huge arm like pound of flesh came out. It started wriggling, and acquired a more defined shape. It had claws, which it just slashed forward. The space where the hand slashed started distorting, and there was a black space exactly where the hand slashed.
The hand went back into Lucas' back, and Lucas straightened his shirt as he shook his head.
"I can never get used to that. It just becomes so irritating. I feel like you puked inside." Lucas said as he walked into that black rift that was created temporarily.
Slowly, the area around him changed, and he was no longer in the boring room, and back in the hall. In fact, he was back exactly where he started, next to the seat that he was sitting in until Odin transported him.
"Where did you come out from? Where did you go? Why was the g833 wordsreat Odin himself here? Who really are you?" Erik, who was sitting opposite to him, blurted out as he looked at Lucas with shock.
"Quite the curious man we have here. Too bad I have absolutely no interest in answering your questions. Well then. Did any of you see Odin? He was with me for quite a little time, but he just disappeared to do something. I just want to make sure that that senmile old man is doing something important, not indulging you wasteful idiots." Lucas said.
"There are a lot of people here who heard what you just said. Aren't you afraid of any consequences?" Ragnar asked.
"Who cares about these chickens? If they want, they are always welcome to come fight. Infact, I encourage it. I promised Odin that I will not cause too much trouble, so not every one will have to die." Lucas laughed.
"Again, I am imploring you. Please do not ruin what we have going for us as well. We are actually very respected here, and you are probably taking all of that away by just interacting with us." Ragnar sighed as he said.
"Forget it. Now where is that bitch. First, she comes with me with all these requirements. I bring her all the way to Asgard, and she goes and becomes a play thing for a god? I am going to have to give her a beating." Lucas turned around as he looked at the table that he remembered seeing Angela in.
Indeed, she was sitting there, and she was eating food while talking to the women on the table. Lucas clenched his fists as he disappeared from where he stood, and he reappeared exactly next to Angela. He glanced at all the women in the table.
"Ladies." he nodded towards all of the women.
"We are warriors. Call us that. Do not disgrace us." a woman said.
"I won't be long. I am here to borrow a friend away. If you will excuse me." Lucas took Angela by the hand and dragged her away.
"Lucas! What are you doing?" Angela shrieked.
"You bitch. Just where the hell have you been? I leave you alone for just a few hours, and you went and got tired up with something complicated. I should have left a ward on you or something." Lucas said as he kept dragging her. Soon, they were in a corner of the hall. Angela looked at Lucas with fuming eyes.
"Tell me. What did I do? Just what happened for you to call me... whatever you called me." Angela asked.
"What happened over the last month that was so irritating, and caused the whole council to come together?" Lucas asked clearly.
"What happened to you? A memory loss? Of course, it was the goddamn reports. We had to draft reports regarding each and every thing that happened in the mortal realm for the last few years, and we had to submit them to the gods. That is why we are even here. How could you forget even this?" Angela asked.
"Think again, you stupid idiot. Do you really think that we would come all the way here, to Asgard, just to submit a few reports?" Lucas asked.
"That is exactly what I told you. But you kept insisting that we had to submit everything now, because the gods should know everything immediately. I told you that it could wait." Angela said.
"Unbelievable. First, you go ahead and lose your memory. Now, you are calling me the root of a problem that never even existed. When the hell have we ever concerned ourselves with stupid paperwork? The admin team under Praneeth always took care of it. Think, money, think?" Lucas shouted.
Angela paused for a moment. Then, her eyes widened.
"Isnt that right? Why the hell did we do the paper work. Don't tell me. Did Praneeth fire all the admin staff to save money, and forced all the work on us?" Angela said, anticlimatcticaly.
Lucas slapped his own forehead.
"I honestly don't know what to do right now. Alright. Because of this new altercation, we have to stay here for another few days. Maybe even a week. Just don't get into a lot of problems, and remember, do not die. You are not a part of Valhalla. If you die, that means that you are dead for real. You will not be allowed to return to the mortal world." Lucas warned her.
"What the hell are you talking about? Why would I die?" Angela scoffed.
"Because we have to stay here. Staying in Valhalla for one day isn't a problem. But the moment that it extends to another day, that means that you have to participate in all of their stupid traditions. You will see tomorrow. And all of that will be compulsory, so don't bother to complain." Lucas said as he turned around to leave.
