Temporal Pearls

Chapter 163: Aura Activator

"Your aura in you is stagnated and needs some shock to truly be affected for that reason. You are required to turn around and open your back to me, I will smack you there!"

The players already know that Seth wasn't joking even if they don't want to admit that how it should be.

The old man looked at them for help but all of them just stared at him, some even nodded for encouragement. He had no choice and he turned around and pulled his shirt off.

The chief took a deep breath and wanted to say something but he held it in.

SLAP!

The old man winced in pain as he almost tumbled forward. Seth smiled as he saw the old man having pale smoke seeping out of his body. He smiled and nodded.

"You have activated it!" The old man grimacing, stood as he tried to rub his back but failed.

The miracle happened immediately, he had bent back and couldn't stand straight, however, now he stood straight and glared at Seth but then he smiled.

"Thank you. I just became level 34 chief. God bless you in all your endeavours."

[+1 Luck]

[The luck value will last for 48 hours]

"Hmm. You are welcome. I intend to help everyone. So, gather more people"

Of course, the chef was happy as he forced everyone to come and undergo the same procedure.

Seth met all the villagers within three hours and he tried his best to remember their faces, as for the name, the notification has it.

All of them without exception activated their aura, some had sudden changes in their body while those with some illness or wounds that refused to heal began to show some soon of becoming better.

There was also a sudden exclamation to those who seemed normal outward but inwardly they felt and found something better.

Seth expected to have some additional stats, like popularity or something alike but nothing. Apart from the first time that he got Luck +1 due to the Chief's blessing, he didn't get anything.

"Wait a minute!" Seth realized something. He had succeeded in helping all of them, does this have to do with the Luck he gained?

No matter how he thought about it, that might be the case. And the reason for that was, Ash and Rena that clapped with him first didn't activate their aura, even though his eyes were showing him they will very soon.

Seth sighed as he smiled at the congregation of people before him. He then began to explain what aura is and its importance. He explained everything in the most simple term he can and also explained the effect and its future prospect.

The NPC cheered that they do not have to worry about mundane infection and disease, so also they are happy that their wound will be healed faster than normal.

"Did any of you have questions?" Seth asked. A boy from the back raised his hand. Seth walked to him and asked what it was

"I have the blood of a dragon but I didn't feel different."

The players were surprised but Seth wasn't, in his Aura sight he was able to see the boy's difference and also the notification explained the boy had a special bloodline that was awakening.

"Others will have sudden changes, while some will have slow changes. But one thing everyone should understand…" Seth raised his voice, "It's not all rosy and good. Aura may diminish some aspect you have or even get rid of it because that thing might not be good for your body in the long term!"

Some asked questions, including those that were born with blindness or some deformity. He assured them that as long as they believed they will reform, they will reform but it will not be overnight.

The lecture was exhausting and Seth slumped down tired on the bed. He still needs to recover from the intensive healing he has been through in Yellow City.

The sceptical players came and asked for activation after they gathered enough information.

"Okay, Zambia said, the dragon is on the way. Quickly help me too!" Juma said. Seth tilted his head and asked, "didn't you have an aura?"

"No. What makes you think that?" Juma asked.

"That's what I'm feeling from you."

"Not really!"

As Seth observed her well, he concluded that she did have an activated aura, but the difference was that she was not in control of it, as she only trapped it in the halo dome-like.

He asked her to move a meter from him and they touch through their fingers only. Her body vanished completely. Then she came back laughing and saying, "That was Aura. I never know but thanks anyway, I never was able to tap into it!"

But she did change, her hair was longer, her eyes were darker and akin also light. She was taller by a few centimetres. Her halo was gone too but she overall seemed stronger.

Seth felt he was indeed inferior to her.

That was when Zambia came back with the smile that stayed ever since he obtained the hourglass.

"Ah, Seth. Me too. She is on the way!"

"Man. You are scary." Seth said as he raised his for the clap.

Zambia frowned and frowned as he asked, "How so?" The way he acted was suspicious to seth, but seth just said, "You fucking clashed and survived a fucking dragon, an Adult one at that. Isn't that scary!"

It turned out it wasn't Seth only that was wary of Zambia but all the players were a bit afraid.

"Come on guys. I'm not that scary. And guess what, the Trial wanted me to get the item, and the dragon is just a baby and vastly suppressed within my capability!".

"It's not a baby, it's an adult!" Seth said. "Your hand!"

"Nah, I want it activated Asap. My back." Zambia turned and gave away his back. Slap. And then the time froze, and Seth could see and feel what was happening. Juma moved and glared at Zambia which he smiled apologetically. And everything returned back to normal.

"Zambia, you bastard!" Zero and Fist bellowed angrily

"I'm sorry, I just….!" Zambia said but then he jumped and screamed! "Haha, Woah. This is the greatest gift!"

What happened was, the number on his right hand that indicated himself as Temporal Warrior just shifted from 23:98 to 10:00:00. The first 10 indicates 10 hours, the second 00 is minutes and the last 00 is seconds.

He turned to Seth with starry eyes and hugged him and he kissed him all over his face. Seth was frozen, unable to move at all. It was Zambia's power affecting him indirectly.

"Hey, calm it down!" Juma growled, and that was when Zambia came to his senses. "Thank you, Seth. I am indebted. And… you are under my protection as long as we are together!"

"Better keep what you are promising!" Juma said sarcastically.

"I will definitely!"

"So, what is a temporal warrior?" Seth asked.

"Well…!" Enthusiastically Zambia began to explain.

The class of temporal warrior was created to enable weaker races to contend with powerful creatures such as dragons and alike.

For thousands of years humanity has tried to be the supreme race but failed to do so and no matter what they were always below average. Their intelligence, which was their strong suit, wasn't an advantage against dragons that have the intellect of a 5-year-old boy at birth and also, have inherited memories from their race.

Even beasts, animals and monsters gain intelligence over time and they have the advantage of a strong body and other aspects they were born with.

But what humans are good at was unity,  adaptability and knowledge customisation. That was the ability to learn and improve over time, even though that wasn't that special because other races were able to do that.

Dragons, in particular, have all the above but their glaring weakness was their laziness, even with their laziness humans don't stand a chance.

The first solution for humans was Collectors, by tapping on the power of dragons and other creatures humans can borrow power and achieve their goals, but, the weakness was they had to be servants of those they borrow power from.

The second solution was Bloodlines. This persists to this day. People who ingested the bloodline of some special beasts and gained their ability can even surpass those special beasts.

It's very much possible for humans to surpass normal dragons when they train and improve their dragon bloodlines.

The third solution was the most dangerous was Taming. Taming beasts were the reason why humans conquer some continents and even build kingdoms. But, if the tamed beast loses control or the race the beast was from decided to act, then it was about a time before they face destruction.

The fourth solution was Inventions but in the amalgamation of the above with added value.
