Spirit Soul

Chapter 184 Little Incident

Revealing each other's secret trumps was important if one wanted to trust the others as teammates.

However, it was not only a sign of trust, because one would reveal the hidden traits one had.

Instead, one could say that revealing all the secret tricks one could utilize was comparable to leaving oneself unguarded in front of someone else.

Choosing the wrong person might as well be considered lethally dangerous, but Kyle couldn't bother about that right now.

He was already slightly frustrated about the fact that Beatrice and Yasmine had no idea what they were currently doing.

In his opinion, this was even more dangerous than exposing their secrets.

Still, he couldn't believe that Yasmine was unable to know what was going on.

After all, her parents were by her side, and they were supposed to teach her common sense.

Unfortunately, this was not exactly the case because Yasmine, who trusted both Kyle and Beatrice fully, exposed everything she knew before adding in a small voice,

"...I know that I don't have much to tell, but my parents told me to figure out the secrets of my body and its strengths and weaknesses by myself. Other than that, they didn't tell me much.

To be honest, I don't even know what race my father belongs to!"

Apparently, she didn't even need a reason to like them, she just did.

It was great that Yasmine trusted them, but Kyle couldn't help but be displeased with the information they had received from her.

It was simply useless, and he figured that it was important to tell her everything that had happened just a short while ago during their first scuffle against the small horde of beasts.

However, before he explained everything to her, he averted his attention to Beatrice, hoping to hear a favorable answer as he suddenly recalled something.

"Ah…right, nobody knew what kind of race you belong to, to begin with…you're struggling to figure out more about your racial traits and heritage on your own. Sorry, I forgot that for a moment!"

Scratching the back of his head, Kyle couldn't help but sigh, and the atmosphere turned a little bit weird because Beatrice had truly no idea about what kind of race she might belong to.

She felt even a little bit embarrassed about that, which caused her to sigh as well.

Her sigh was soft, but audible enough for Kyle to hear it and sense the accumulated frustration of several thousand years in that one sigh.

As such, he lightly patted her back while consoling her, only to see a familiar glint in her eyes the moment Beatrice lifted her head.

"Do you need more blood? I think you used up quite a bit before!"

The glint in her eyes was extremely dangerous because it represented her lust.

This was something Kyle wanted to avoid facing right now as the place, timing, and to be precise, the entire situation was completely wrong for her to give in to her desires.

Beatrice knew this too, but she was barely keeping her act together, and staring into the depths of Kyle's eyes intently, that revealed his worry.

Unfortunately, the worry in his eyes was the final trigger that caused her exhausted body to be unable to hold back her urges anymore.

Emerging in front of Kyle, she coiled her hands around his neck, forcing him to look into her eyes as she moved closer to him.

Swallowing nervously, he could barely think clearly as he stepped backward.

In the end, he didn't want to take advantage of anyone's weakness or unique condition, even less Beatrice, who was unable to control her urges.

Nevertheless, he was but a man, and Beatrice was a beautiful woman.

As such, Kyle had some difficulties controlling himself perfectly.

Yet, the moment he took the first step back, he tripped and fell to the ground with Beatrice who fell on top of him.

When his back crashed into the ground, Kyle let out a groan as he felt Beatrice's weight on himself.

She was basically lying on him and was slowly moving towards his face the moment she perceived an opportunity.

Her eyes were glowing faintly, and she licked her lower lip in a seductive manner, making it hard for Kyle to resist her. He couldn't help but feel slightly bewitched.

The glint of lust in her eyes had intensified, and her hands began to move wildly, trying to untie Kyle's leather armor.

Fortunately, she fumbled with all the straps and fastenings, giving Kyle the time to think of a solution without losing his reasoning.

This was much more difficult than he had first assumed because the scent she began to release was slowly depriving him of his rational thinking, preventing him from thinking clearly as his desire began to fill his body.

'Is she really not a Succubus?' Kyle began to wonder, but he had no time to waste questioning her race right now.

He was powerful enough to push her away, but doing so would not be exactly helpful to give her some of his blood to suppress her desires.

In the end, he had one idea, but that might as well have the exact opposite effect to what he wanted.

'Will that help her?' He wondered, keeping himself in check as he used the Nurture ability on her, giving her some vigor.

Kyle desperately hoped that this would help her regain her senses, but from the looks of it, invigorating her made no difference.

This was bad and there was not a single advantageous point he perceived.

Instead, Beatrice's movements became more energetic as she began to dig into his armor and pull it aside.

Using her long fingers, she tried to tear open the parts of his shirt that were exposed from underneath the leather armor.

When his skin was revealed, her eyes seemed to gleam even brighter, as she lightly touched his collarbone, making him involuntarily shiver.

A sly smile appeared on her face as she started moving her hand up to his neck, stroking it with the tip of her fingers.

Afterward, she had almost reached his face, causing Kyle to sense that the scent Beatrice released was only becoming denser.

Thus, his mind was slowly going blank as he enveloped her in his arms.

He was almost completely unable to think rationally, and it was only when she moved a slightly bit ahead, bringing her face close to his neck that Kyle used the last bit of his remaining willpower to tightly embrace her.

When he lifted his head, the light greenish-blue veins were clearly visible under his pale skin and Beatrice licked her dry lips again.

'Please, just bite me…'

Unable to tell how long he could hold her down while simultaneously suppressing his own desires that were slowly overwhelming him, his body was beginning to move of its own accord.

One of his hands was slowly moving towards her bum without him being able to control it, causing Kyle to curse out inwardly.

Meanwhile, Yasmine was looking at the scenario that unfolded in front of her with a blush.

Her cheeks were burning, and she tried to cover her eyes with her hands.

Yet, subconsciously, Yasmine's hands that were ought to cover her eyes moved slightly, allowing her to get a glimpse of what was going on.

When she took a peek to see what was going on, she saw that Kyle had grasped Beatrice's bum, while Beatrice kissed his neck.

However, it was only a moment later that Kyle had already let go of her butt, quickly moving his hand towards Beatrice's head, pressing it lightly towards his neck.

The kiss on his neck had given him the last strength he required to regain some of his sanity.

As such, by pressing Beatrice's head on his neck, he prevented her from doing anything else than paying attention to it, and the veins that pulsated with fresh, warm blood flowing through them.

Thus, it was not surprising that she bit him a moment later causing a faint smile to emerge on Kyle's face as he mumbled.

"Finally!...My goodness…this was exhausting."

Allowing her to drink as much blood as she required, Kyle kept lying on the ground with his eyes closed as he slowly felt the bewitching scent of Beatrice disappear from around him.

Taking a few breaths, he could only feel that the weight of Beatrice was lifted off his body a few moments later.

As he was now able to think clearly, Kyle didn't hesitate as he murmured.

"I will set aside some blood for you…it doesn't work if you pounce at me every single time something happens…"

He was exhausted, far more than before, but at least Beatrice's thirst was quenched for the time being.

Thus, he then grasped Starbreaker and transferred some soul energy to his body which he used to utilize the Nurture ability to invigorate himself.

Yet instead of getting up from the ground, what he heard a moment later caused him to frown as he kept lying on the ground, feeling the wet grass that scrunched softly beneath his skin.

"Would it really be that bad?"

Kyle didn't expect Beatrice to ask something like this only moments after she had regained her senses and deprived her of the urges her body made her want to fulfill.

'Bad?..Not really, I guess?' He thought, only to bluntly state his opinion of the given situation.

"Rather than bad, it's just an inconvenience because of the timing at which you get these sudden and unexpected outbreaks of your urges. Furthermore, it's not really something that you want to do. Your body moves without allowing your mind to give you the time to decide what you really want to do.

Beatrice was certainly a beautiful woman, but Kyle didn't feel as if he had the time to spend on being romantically involved with anyone.

There were far more important things for him to do. With his current strength, he was not even able to protect the people that were important to him.

As such, Kyle told himself that it was not yet time!

He was attracted to Beatrice. This was an undeniable fact, but he wasn't sure if it was romantic, or if the blood pact might have caused this too!

However, he could also be said to feel a bit attracted to Yasmine and even Selene, if one were to solely focus on their appearance.

After all, they were extremely beautiful too, and each of them had a unique personality, just like their appearance.

Yet, by not even imagining having a romantic partner, for the time being, everything became much easier for him.

Right now strength was much more important than being in love with anyone, and as long as he survived and became stronger, the right timing to find love without the constant fear of dying would arrive.

It might take time, but that was something Kyle had more than enough of, at least in this case.

His life had just started, and there was no need to be desperate about anything like finding a lover.

"Yeah..that's right, but…"

While Kyle's was of the opinion that there was no need or time for him to fall in love and it was more of an unnecessary distraction, Beatrice seemed to think differently about this topic.

She stared daggers at him, wondering if he had feelings for the Lohar he wanted to reunite with by all means.

However, just before Beatrice was able to continue imagining the same and devise plans to keep him away from her, she began to ask herself something.

'What but? Is there a but, to begin with? My body moves before I can think of what I'm doing….right?'

If Kyle could be said to have been confused by Beatrice's situation, she herself was in an even worse state.

Right now, she didn't even know what she wanted and what she did not.

It was evident that Kyle was her soulmate because she only required his blood to survive.

This was an undeniable fact, but there was also no denying the fact that he could not be the only one.

What if she didn't have one but multiple soul mates out of which she could choose?

Was she forced to have feelings for Kyle, and could she live without him, or most importantly, was she just by Kyle's side for his blood?

The answer to all of these was a crystal clear 'No', however, that was something Beatrice had yet to comprehend.

Even her old age wouldn't help her figure out what kind of feelings she had.

After all, her entire life she had been imprisoned in the Razkadan castle, and nearly everything was new to her.

Kyle understood this too.

As such, he kept his calm, and slowly pushed Beatrice away after she had bitten him while drinking his blood.

The sensual sensation of her scent that had made him hard to control himself had disappeared, giving Kyle his reasoning back again.

Taking a few deep breaths, he took a few seconds to recall what they had been up to before the little incident happened.

"We were talking about our secret trumps, right? Should I tell you two everything now, or shall we wait for a few minutes? Maybe, we could even leave to search for a new group of beasts while moving!"

Kyle suggested being on the move and continuing traveling in order to avoid a repeat of the incident with Beatrice yet again, and even Yasmine to feel embarrassed.

The young halfling was still flabbergasted about what she had seen.

Meanwhile, Kyle was, by far, the calmest, but that was also only on the outside.

'Fuck, that was close…'

It was not that he didn't want Beatrice, but taking advantage of someone's situation was against his principles.

After all, he wouldn't be better than someone violating a beautiful girl.

Furthermore, Kyle ought to travel with Beatrice for a long time.

As such, everyone had to be sure about what they were doing.

Otherwise, incidents dozens of times worse than what had just happened might even cause their team to split or maybe turn against each other.

Little did Kyle know that today's incident was just the beginning of something grand, something that would change the lives of everyone involved with him, the oblivious youngest reincarnated Soul of the Old Universe!
