Sovereign of the Firmaments

Earlier, Lucas was fighting a couple of rank 3 spirit beasts when the items in the sovereign shop and later, he was hunted by a rank 4 spirit beast. 

After escaping from that rank 4 spirit beast, Lucas forgot about the items in the sovereign shop until now.

'System, sovereign shop.'

Without wasting any more time, Lucas asked the system about it.

'Ding,

          Sovereign shop (level 1)

          1) Rank 3 Mages inner armour - 500 sovereign points.

          2) Movement technique - 100 sovereign points.

          3) Viscount-level talent crystal- 250 sovereign points.

Soon, the list of the items in the Sovereign shop appeared in front of him; however, didn't think any item from the list would help him with the Vampire bats.

'Since I need to buy all items, I will just buy them as I am not lacking the Sovereign points anyway.'

After staying in the Myriad primordial forest, Lucas not only earned the gold coins by selling the spirit beasts' corpses, he even accumulated a lot of sovereign points.

'Ding,

        The host has spent 850 sovereign points and bought all three times from the sovereign shop.

'Ding,

        Remaining balance:- 3300 Sovereign points.

'Ding,

          Please buy all three items in the next week to upgrade the Sovereign shop to level 2.

After he bought all the items, he got the usual system notifications in his head; however, looking at the last system notification, Lucas nodded his head because he was looking forward to it.

'Huh? Did they find their prey?'

Just when he was thinking about checking the information on the items he bought, Lucas saw the flying vampire bats in the distance slowly descend onto the ground.

'I wonder which unlucky spirit beast it was.'

Even though the trees were hindering his sight, Lucas didn't move any closer because he would be taking the place of that unlucky spirit beast and became the vampire bats' meal.

'Let them have their meal, while I check the new items.'

With that thought in his head, Lucas checked the information on the items one by one.

'Ding,

          Item name:- Mages Inner armour.

        Grade:- Rank 3

          Effect:- 1) Reduces the attacks or spells from tier 5 lesser knights or lesser mages and below experts by 50 percent.

                      2) Reduces the attacks from General knights or others by 10 percent.

          Weapon skill:-  Spell absorb

          Skill Information:- When any spell lands on the armour, it will be absorbed by the armour and later that the armour wearer can release it whenever he wants with the same power.

          Note:- Only one spell can be absorbed or released in a single day.

'What?'

Even though Lucas already knew that a rank 3 weapon would have a good effect and a special skill, it was very rare. 

Surprisingly he got a special rank 3 weapon with good life-saving skill.

'Even though it was limited to only one spell absorption and one spell release, it is a good one.'

Lucas knew how to use the weapon skill and controlled his surprise, Lucas checked the information on the other items.

'Ding,

          Item name:- Ghost steps (Movement technique)

          Grade- Earl

          Effect:- A technique that can increase the user speed by 100 percent and at the same time, reduce the sound to a minimum, making the others very hard to notice until the user is close to them.

'An earl-grade movement technique? Nice.'

Lucas looked at the red-coloured scroll in his hands and revealed a surprised look on his face.

Once the Knights and Assassin become the lesser knights and lesser assassins, they could start cultivating the cultivation techniques to increase their battle prowess.

Cultivation techniques are five types and they are attacking-type, movement-type, defence-type, support-type and miscellaneous-type.

Moreover, they are classified into various grades just like the talent levels, Baron, Viscount, Earl, Marquis, Duke and Sovereign.

'Kacha'

Without wasting any time, Lucas crushed the scroll in his hands as the mysterious energy from the scroll rushed out and entered Lucas' head.

'Ding,

        The host has successfully learned the Movement-type cultivation technique 'Ghost steps'.

'I don't know who was able to make these things for others to learn the spells, cultivation techniques but they must be very powerful.'

Looking at the system notifications in front of him, Lucas silently muttered as he thought about the creator of these things and how powerful he must be to be able to create such things.

          The system detected the host is curious about the refinement of the Scrolls for spells, cultivation techniques and other things.

'Ding,

          Do you want to create such things for yourself?

Just as he was wondering about the creator, the system sent two notifications, making him a little surprised.

'System, are you saying that anyone can create these things?'

Lucas asked the system about it; however, before the system could answer his question, Lucas could already guess the answer.

'Ding,

        To create the scroll with spells and cultivation techniques, the host needs to follow the path of 'Scroll refiner'.

'Ding,

        Just like how the weapon refiner creates the weapons, the scroll refiner will create the scrolls that are capable of making others learn the spells and the cultivation techniques stored in them.

'Interesting. So, there is a path like this.'

Even though Lucas knew about these scrolls from the moment he attended his talent evaluation ceremony, he didn't think about their origins until now.

'Anyway, I have to awaken a talent for this rare profession just like the weapon refiner.'

Lucas shook his head as he kept his thoughts on the rare profession aside to check the information on the last item.

          Actually, there are another two ways for the host to become a Scroll refiner without awakening the talent; however, it mainly relies on luck and the host's determination to become a Scroll refiner.

'Huh?'

Just as he was about the check the information on the last item, the system sent a notification that made him raise his brows before asking the system,

'What is it, system?'

Since there were two ways, Lucas thought he could give it a try because if he could refine the scroll and sell them, he would become rich just by creating these scrolls.

'Ding,

          One, the host has to find a talent crystal related to the profession.

'Sigh...next one please.'

Lucas sighed as he asked about the other methods.

'Ding,

          Two, the host has to find a system called 'Scroll creation system'.

'The second method is impossible as to where I can find a system in such a big world?'

Just from a look, Lucas directly rejected the first option because it would need him a lot of luck to find.

Moreover, he had to be wary of the system host because he will have his own trump cards.

Currently, he was not strong enough to go against other system hosts. So, he asked the system about the last method.

'Ding,

        The third method requires the host to use his spells or cultivation techniques to cast on the scrolls until he awakens a 'Scroll refiner' talent.

'What?'

Lucas was speechless when he saw the third method to get the 'Scroll refiner' talent as he asked the system, 'System, are you toying with me or what?'

The thing is, if he used his spells or cultivation techniques,  it would destroy the scroll; however, why would it give him the talent for the Scroll refining profession?

'Ding,

        During this process, the host will gain insights into scroll refining; however, it is a tedious process and no one knows how long it will take.

        Host, please believe me. It will definitely work; however, once you start this process, you have to continue until you awaken the talent. Otherwise, it will be just a waste of time for the host.

The system politely replied to everything, making Lucas nod his head.

'If what you said is true, then I can give it a try.'

Lucas was only after the riches that could come by selling the Scrolls. 

Even though the basic spell scrolls are not very costly, advanced spell scrolls are priceless as they were very rare to find.

'Anyway, before the vampire bats move away, I have to check the last time before thinking of a plan.'

Nevertheless, Lucas stopped thinking about the 'Scroll refining' as he checked the information on the talent crystal in his hands.

'Ding,

          Item name:- Talent crystal.

        Talent stored:- Weapon refining (Earl)

'Hmm'

Lucas nodded his head as he wanted a talent crystal for Knight. Nevertheless, weapon refining talent crystal was also good for him as he was planning to refine weapons in the future.

'Since it is a consumable item, why waste storage in the inventory.

'Kacha'

With that thought in his head, Lucas crushed the crystal as he upgraded his weapon-refining talent to Earl-level.

'Now, it is time to think.'

Next, Lucas resumed his thinking for a plan as the items in the sovereign shop were not much use to him for his current situation.

'Wait a second. After I assassinate a vampire bat, I can use the 'Invisibility' spell to disappear from them; however, I need them to move away from me. So that, I can complete my breakthrough to the Lesser assassin rank.'

Finally, Lucas found something; however, it was still missing something. So, he started thinking about what he could do about that missing piece/

'Got it.'

It didn't take much time for Lucas as he was racking his brains for an idea and he finally got what he had to do.

'I hope it will succeed. Since it is less risky, I think it is worth giving it a try.'

With a slight smile on his face, Lucas started searching his surroundings for something.
