Rise of The Anti God

Chapter 724 They Could Be In Danger

"My father was found dead?" Damien felt a stifling sensation as he heard it. But he couldn't believe that his mother had a part in it. Why would someone go so far as having his father's child to sabotage him?

"Yes, but when I came back again to get his corpse, it was not there. Somebody stole it. I am sure humans did it. They couldn't even leave him alone after his death," Akira said with a vengeful look and added, "It is his fault for being soft on humans and not recognizing them for who they are."

"But humans can't be all bad. I mean, I am part human too, and my…wives are human as well. So will you hate us for being humans too?" Damien asked, seeing how Akira had some kind of prejudice against humans, though he knew he couldn't judge her without knowing what she had faced. He could understand her to some extent since she lost her only brother because of humans.

"You have wives?" Akira asked with an astonished look and then sighed as she gently looked at him, "I really don't care what you are since you are family. And the same goes for your wives. But all of you grew up in a very safe place, and the humans over there aren't like the ones in our part of the world. Here, these humans will hurt and kill us the first chance they get. They think this world belongs to them even though they are in the minority. And when you take into account the history of our world, then you might understand why things are like this."

Damien felt relieved to see that his aunt was quite an understanding woman. He didn't expect her to be so open-minded, especially considering the fact that she was a ghoul.

But as she said, he didn't know the history of this world other than the brief glimpse Anton Vahn showed him.

"I know, but…I have to first find my wives. They could be in danger," Damien said with a worried look as he tried to get up.

Akira's brows raised as she got up and made him sit down, "What? Your wives are here with you? I even forgot to ask…how did you all end up here? The barrier couldn't be that easy for you all to cross," Akira was so distracted by the fact that her dear nephew was alive that she forgot about how he even got here in the first place.

"Anton Vahn had left a passage for us to get out from the inside for emergency purposes. An Abominable Fiend somehow got inside, and we had to lead it out before it could destroy our continent. I am sure my wives followed me here since I can feel it, but we didn't arrive in the same place. We got separated, and I don't know where they are now or if they are even alright. That is why I have to go," Damien said in a determined tone.

Akira's lips parted in surprise, but she stopped him from getting up as she said, "But I just got you back. There is no way I am letting you out and risking your life. You have no idea how much it hurt me to think that something very bad happened to you for eighteen years. If I let something happen to you again, then I would never be able to forgive myself."

Damien's lips pressed together in a slight grimace as he could understand where his aunt was coming from, yet at the same time, he was feeling restless and uneasy, thinking about the safety of his wives.

He had already witnessed how even more brutal this world was compared to where he was coming from, and since there were so many monsters and ghouls with cultivations that surpassed even his own, how could his wives survive against them on their own?

He would never be able to live with himself if something happened to them just because he was not there. It would be no different than when Sofie died due to not being there for her.

Akira saw the determination in his eyes and didn't expect him to care about them so much. There were hardly any men who would be willing to jump into hell and risk their lives to save their lover.

This only made her feel even more proud of him as she said before he could say anything, "Okay….then let me take care of it. I will help you find your wives. Look at your condition. Your arm is even more damaged than I thought and all I can do is not let you feel the pain till I find a way to heal it. If I let you go out now, you might end up in a worse situation than when I first saw you. Do you think that is what your wives would want? You have barely arrived in this world, and you have no idea what kind of dangers exist outside, nor are you strong enough yet to face them all alone," Akira held nothing back to make Damien understand his current state and that being reckless wouldn't achieve anything.

"But I—" Before Damien could finish his sentence, Akira placed his hand on her chest as she leaned closer to his face, "I know I might be like a stranger to you despite knowing the truth. But you can trust me. I don't know how you have lived your life all this time, but I sure as hell would want you to be happy or happier from here on out."

Damien could feel the warmth on her chest as he felt her heartbeat. He could see that she was trying her best to show how sincere she was about her words, and he felt as if he could put his entire life into her hands and not worry about it.

He also calmly thought about it and understood that she had a point. Going out there alone might end up with him getting killed by ghouls or monsters he can't handle.

"Okay…I trust you. But I won't sit still and do nothing but instead do everything I can here to get stronger," Damien said with firm determination.
