Chapter 676 Beacon Of Hope
Chapter 676 Beacon Of Hope
"Oh no…he destroyed it…" Reva mumbled with a crestfallen look. The reason she and the other two women felt shaken was that they couldn't even fix the formation.
Damien had already told him that an energy from another dimension named the nethereal energy was bad for them, and now the island was filled with it, even if it was not too high in concentration like it was in the central lands.
They could feel the suffocating sensation getting worse every second and how a strange sense of numbness was spreading through their body and mind.
They couldn't even tell when they would all succumb to this atmosphere.
There was only one formation active, but Damien had already warned them where this formation would lead to.
But right when everyone was drowning in despair, Lily stepped forward with a determined expression as she said, "Yuria, can you augment my ethereal core? I have to try something."
"Lily…Okay…" Yuria coughed as she quickly walked over to Lily without asking any questions. They just exchanged glances, and that was all that Yuria needed.
She was feeling weak, but Yuria was trying her best to augment Lily's cultivation which was already at the Late Stage of the Heaven Ethereal Realm.
With Leon joining the Forsaken officially, the cultivation of all three women had jumped over the past month considerably with the help of their own training and Leon's pills.
"Unnnng…" Yuria grimaced as she felt it very taxing to augment someone's ethereal core in her state. But she held on and didn't give up since everyone's lives were hanging in the balance.
Lily felt her cultivation gradually increasing level by level, even to the point she had already temporarily entered the Profound Ethereal Realm!
But even though Lily was feeling better than before, she was still feeling that suffocation sensation eating away at her body.
The moment Yuria was done, she was about to fall to her knees with an exhausted look, sweat trickling down her temples.
But Reva suddenly caught her behind and gently supported her back as she said, "Good work, Yuria."
"I have to go back to where the others are," Lily said as she quickly flew to where Elor and the others were.
Reva and Yuria looked at each other before they followed Lily as well, with Reva carrying Yuria.
Lily descended right in the middle, where most were lying unconscious with serious injuries, while Elor and Irene, who were eagerly awaiting her return, had their expressions turn into dismay when Lily mentally conveyed that the formations were destroyed.
They didn't seem that surprised as if they expected Ruthren to do something like that, but they just didn't want it to happen since that would mean their fates were sealed.
But Lily also told them she was about to try something, which made them look on eagerly. They had tried their best with the help of Leon to give healing pills to the others, but if even the ethereal energy in the bodies of the injured couldn't properly channel itself, how can the pills work their magic?
It was like the black miasma around them was crippling the ethereal energy within their bodies slowly.
Up in the sky, Ruthren had already left and presumably went back outside through the only formation active. Damien couldn't even try to fight him since he had bigger problems at hand. For the first time, he was feeling so helpless despite having so many abilities.
The nethereal energy in the island was actually beneficial for him, but that didn't mean he could get rid of it.
"Luna….my Heavenly Fire seed…Surely, it can get rid of the—"
"Nethereal energy? No way. You just gained such a volatile seed, and you can't even summon its power without hurting yourself. Using such a seed, especially for someone with your constitution, requires years of developing powerful focus. If you try to use it now in the present situation, you will be killing yourself first, let alone saving others. Even if you were even able to bring about a wisp of it outside to get rid of all the nethereal energy in this island, you definitely would need to have more power and expertise."
Damien clicked his tongue in frustration and disappointment. He knew Luna was right, and the reason he never tried using the Heavenly Fire seed was due to its volatility. Even if it was seemingly in a stable state inside him, it would be a different scenario if he tried to harness its power.
It would eat away at any darkness, including his own nethereal energy inside his ethereal core.
But right when he was deciding whether to take the extreme step and try it anyway while risking his life, a brilliant ray of white light reached his face from within all the cloud of darkness below.
"Lily…her light…" Damien's lips parted in awe and relief as he looked at her, standing below in the middle of where everyone was, her entire body radiating a brilliant white light. She looked just like an angel who had manifested before them in their darkest times to save them.
Everyone, including Elor, Irene, and Leon, felt the same thing as they basked themselves in the healing light, making them feel as if they were getting bathed in the light from the heavens.
They couldn't understand what this light was or how Lily was doing this. But at this moment, they only took comfort in the fact that not all hope was lost. And that the proof was right before them.
Even Yuria and Reva were captivated by the beauty of her light and how their surroundings no longer looked so dark while making them feel rejuvenated in soul and body.
From Damien's view, it looked just like a beacon of hope was glowing right in the middle of the island.
