Reincarnated as incubus: I didn't mean to seduce you!

Chapter 175 - 133: Hassaka Cleaning Up Traces and the Sweeping Craze Across the Duchy (12000, 48/65)_3

"Lord Luxius, Lord Fox, the Lion Heart Duchy requests your presence," said an elderly housekeeper, approaching Luxius and Fox with courteous demeanor.

Luxius glanced at him and realized that this man had been specifically sent by the Lion Heart Duchy to hasten their departure.

He didn’t insist on staying; instead, he saw it as a direct opportunity to clarify his stance to the Lion Heart. Thus, he simply followed Fox upstairs. n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

"Baron Helois, please wait here in the hall for a moment." Another housekeeper bowed his head, and after seating Kael, the maids around began to serve refreshments.

As they settled Kael, most of the people chose to leave the scene, leaving only one housekeeper standing by, ready to serve Kael at any moment.

Kael bowed his head in thought, What does this mean?

A show of force? No, it didn’t seem like it!

Just as he was pondering this, he heard the sound of horse hooves from outside. After taking a sip of tea, he saw a familiar figure stride in.

Well, actually, they weren’t very familiar, as the person who came rushing over was Harry D. Charles, who had once had a slight conflict with Kael.

"Kael, how come you are here?"

The young man who followed his elder inside, upon seeing Kael, opened his mouth in surprise, wondering why Kael would be here today.

He looked somewhat puzzled, instinctively glancing at his father beside him.

But his father acted as if he hadn’t seen Kael, standing there as if pondering something.

"Isn’t this classmate Harry? It’s quite a coincidence to encounter you here," Kael said leisurely while sipping his tea, his expression utterly unchanged. He hadn’t expected to meet his seemingly cousin here.

Of course, his gaze didn’t linger on Harry, instead, he turned to look at another elder who had accompanied Harry to this place.

"This is supposed to be our first formal meeting, right?" The middle-aged man saw Kael’s gaze and said in a deep voice.

No, perhaps calling him middle-aged was a bit too much, as he looked quite young. Harry by his side seemed like a younger brother following his older brother...

Somewhat frail, pitiful, and helpless.

"Hello, Count Rezhe, greetings from my father to you," Kael said.

Count Rezhe gave Kael a cold glance, neither shouting in anger nor giving him a disdainful look, just deeply eyeing Kael a few more moments, nodded, then turned his head to Harry and said,

"You stay here, waiting for the message from the Lion Heart Ducal."

Having said that, he then stepped toward the loft.

Kael vaguely grasped some clues, but felt he was missing some key information, making many things unclear.

But he certainly hadn’t expected that his first interaction with his nominally uncle would be so subdued, even restrained.

It was as if they weren’t enemies but merely strangers who didn’t know each other.

This strange sensation lasted until Count Rezhe disappeared from his view, then Kael suppressed it.

"Kael, I’m very sorry…"

Harry, having seen Kael, whispered a quick apology.

"There is nothing for you to apologize for, so why mention it?"

Kael shook his head. For this somewhat idealistic cousin, he had no complaints.

After all, considering all the assessments from the academy and from personal interactions, this guy indeed was a kind-hearted idealist. Continue reading at empire

Unfortunately, what Kael despised the most were those who focused only on ideals and disregarded reality.

He believed, instead of daydreaming about an ideal future and playing word games, it was better to realistically accomplish things and then consider how to transform the world into what one desired.

So his reaction to Harry’s performance was not of dislike, but he also had no desire to deepen their acquaintance.

Perhaps sensing Kael’s strong wariness, Harry opened his mouth to say something, then closed it again, choosing to remain silent.

Just as the atmosphere between them was becoming increasingly awkward, suddenly, a crisp chirping noise erupted.

A bird, chirping frantically, was darting around on the Stone Plate outside the door, fluttering and flying into the hall as if scared and flying aimlessly.

The bird flew into the hall, circling overhead, seemingly looking for a way out, but after searching for a long time, it found none.

The next second, it seemed to spot something interesting and suddenly, flapping its wings, it flew towards Kael.

Suddenly, a spell from the direction of the front door shot directly toward it, instantly knocking the bird in mid-air to the ground.

The fallen bird "thwack" landed on the table before Kael, motionless.

Kael looked up in the direction of the attack, seeing two young men walking and laughing from that direction as if they had done nothing all along.

"Those are Earl Campbell’s children, there’s rather a poor relationship between their family and ours,"

Harry, sitting beside him, sadly picked up the lifeless bird, took out a small cloth from his Space Equipment, wrapped it up, and placed it back inside his Space Equipment.

Kael bowed his head slightly, looked at the bird wrapped by Harry, and remained silent.
