Chapter 312 Core Disciples
Shen Yuan inclined his head respectfully, his expression calm but pleased. As the applause died down, he stepped back from the platform.
[Spectacular, Yuan'er. You really did a big favor for the sect. But now you are just that much more important to them. Will you be able to leave the sect?]
Yue Lan's voice held a hint of teasing as it echoed in his mind.
Shen Yuan lightly shook his head, 'That doesn't matter. This was something I had decided to do long ago. And as for leaving the sect? If I want to leave, then no one can stop me.'
She fell silent, knowing what he had said was true.
As Shen Yuan descended from the raised platform, the applause gradually settled, though the atmosphere remained charged with admiration and awe.
Disciples parted respectfully as he approached, their gazes filled with curiosity and reverence.
His recent display had not only cemented his status as a key figure in the Radiant Lotus Sacred Sect but also painted him as an enigma to his peers.
He smiled softly, his demeanor calm yet approachable. Despite the intensity of his earlier speech and the gravity of his contributions, he carried himself with an ease that made him all the more magnetic.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
A group of Core Disciples was the first to approach him. Among them, a young woman with striking emerald eyes and a confident bearing stepped forward. "Fellow Disciple Shen Yuan," she began with a hint of respect in her tone. "Your words today resonated deeply with all of us. And your alchemical and artifact refinement skills are… astonishing."
Shen Yuan inclined his head, his tone modest. "Thank you. I've always believed that we should contribute to the sect in every way we can. The Radiant Lotus Sacred Sect is a shared home, and its strength is built on the unity of its disciples."
Another Core Disciple, a tall girl with a reserved demeanor, stepped forward. "Fellow Disciple Shen Yuan, your display today was nothing short of extraordinary. I can't imagine the dedication it must have taken to refine such pills and artifacts. If I may be so bold, would you consider sharing some of your insights into alchemy?"
Shen Yuan chuckled softly, his gaze kind. "Alchemy requires not just talent and skill but patience and understanding of the materials you work with. If there's an opportunity, I wouldn't mind sharing what I've learned. But keep in mind, each path is unique. What works for me may not work for another."
[Says someone with Emperor Grade Talent in Alchemy.]
The disciples exchanged glances, clearly impressed by his humility despite his evident mastery.
As the interactions continued, more disciples—both Inner and Core—gathered around him. Some sought advice, others wanted to express their admiration, and a few subtly tried to build connections, knowing full well the influence Shen Yuan now wielded.
"Senior Brother Shen Yuan," a shy Inner Disciple said hesitantly, her cheeks flushed. "Your speech was inspiring, and your contributions to the sect are incredible. It's an honor just to stand in your presence."
Shen Yuan's smile softened as he responded gently, "There's no need to feel nervous. We are all disciples of the same sect. If anything, I should be grateful for your kind words."
The young disciple's face reddened further, and she quickly bowed before retreating into the crowd.
Amidst the polite exchanges, Chen Yue and Zhao Lian reappeared, weaving their way through the gathered disciples. Chen Yue's playful grin widened as she approached. "Senior Brother, I leave you alone for a moment, and you already have half the sect wrapped around your finger."
Zhao Lian chuckled softly, her tone teasing. "It seems you're even more popular than we thought, Senior Brother."
Shen Yuan laughed, his tone lighthearted. "What can I say? I'm just that charming."
Chen Yue rolled her eyes, though the smile on her face betrayed her amusement. "Charming or not, you've certainly outdone yourself today. Those pills and artifacts… You really didn't hold back, did you?"
Shen Yuan shrugged casually. "They were just sitting in my inventory. I thought they'd be more useful in the hands of our disciples."
Zhao Lian raised an eyebrow, her expression incredulous. "Just sitting in your inventory? You say that as if they're ordinary items. Senior Brother, most alchemists would consider those pills their life's work."
Shen Yuan smirked. "Well, I've always aimed a little higher."
"Ahem, Senior Brother, you haven't forgotten your promise of making a custom weapon for us, right?" Chen Yue said with a sly grin on her face.
Shen Yuan chuckled softly. "Of course not. Do you want me to make your weapon now? I can do it after getti—"
Chen Yue hurriedly waved her hand. "Ah, no, no, I'll save that for later. I can make do with the sect's weapons for now. I'll ask for your help when I'm at a higher level."
Shen Yuan nodded his head in understanding. "I see. That's smart. We can do that then. What about you, Lian'er?" He turned his gaze to Zhao Lian.
"I will save the offer for later as well, Senior Brother," Zhao Lian respectfully rejected the offer for now.
Shen Yuan nodded his head and began talking about different subjects.
The three of them shared a laugh, the lighthearted moment easing the lingering tension in the air.
As more disciples approached, Shen Yuan handled each interaction calmly and with grace.
From the sidelines, Huo Rong and Bing Rong watched with pride, their expressions a mix of amusement and admiration.
"Looks like he's handling himself well," Huo Rong said, her tone teasing.
Bing Rong nodded, her gaze following Shen Yuan. "He always does. That's what makes him so infuriatingly impressive."
Huo Rong laughed. "True. But it's also what makes him who he is."
As the informal gathering continued, Shen Yuan's role shifted seamlessly from a figure of reverence to one of camaraderie.
His ability to connect with his fellow disciples, regardless of rank, only served to solidify his place within the sect.
And though no one dared challenge him due to his recent contributions, the bonds he had formed would undoubtedly be helpful once he decided to vie for higher authority in the sect.
…
As the informal gathering began to wind down, the disciples and elders gradually started dispersing.
The glow of admiration still lingered in the gazes of many as they exchanged final words with Shen Yuan or simply offered respectful nods before leaving.
Chen Yue stretched her arms with a satisfied smile. "Senior Brother, your speech was really something. I feel like I've been slacking off too much lately. Time to make up for it."
Zhao Lian nodded with a calm expression but an unmistakable resolve in her eyes. "Yes, Senior Brother. Your words reminded me of the importance of perseverance. I'll take my leave to continue cultivating."
Shen Yuan smiled warmly, nodding his head. "Good. Use that motivation to reach new heights. If you ever need guidance, don't hesitate to come find me."
Chen Yue gave him a playful wink. "We'll hold you to that promise, Senior Brother." With a wave, she and Zhao Lian turned and walked away, their lively chatter fading into the distance as they headed toward their respective cultivation chambers.
