Paragon of Death

Chapter 50

Chapter 50: Chapter 49: Basilisk

“If I stayed any longer there I probably would have died” Damon ignored Gin’s thumbs up and said with a stern frown.

The thought of having people capable of ending your life, actively seek you out is no minor issue. Since Damon was the one battling them and they have made bold statements about Damon, being more than enough to deal with them, Damon didn’t dare go back on his word.

The reputation of the magic academy and his friends was at stake so he had to find a way out.

That was when he decided it would be best to leave while his reputation was still intact so he used his secret weapon on those two.

It only worked because they were caught off guard!

When reports of this battle are shared with the public, Damon’s skill, technique, and overwhelming strength will be revealed to the world. It will be said that he left simply because he has more important tasks to deal with. Tasks far more important and threatening Vincent duo who are feared in the fighter academy!

This is a major win for the mage academy!

.....

“Are they that strong?” Klien asked with a confused look on his face.

His eyes carried hints of doubts since he was well aware of Damon’s capabilities, even without the death magic.

“I know what you are thinking. But imagine the young and worthless Damon Ross, son of a mere baron spitting out spells indiscriminately against the duo and each fueled with a terrifying amount of mana. In the early stages as a mage, our number one issue has always been our mana reserves... If I show otherwise, it will lead to questions which will be a serious headache on the archmage and myself” Damon shook his head in refusal to reveal too much.

Showing off his inhuman strength alone will shake tables and he won’t be shocked if he gets scolded by the archmage or Duke Hail. Right now he felt bound with chains with all of his movement crippled!

Since they accepted numerous tasks, the team was busy till nightfall. They fought goblins, attacked bandits, fought fierce wolf packs, and more stressful missions, and thankfully it wasn’t too hard since they all had astonishing strength.

Unknown to them, the news of the fight had already spread far and Damon’s fame had reached a new height.

Upon return to the magic academy, they were welcomed in an unfamiliar environment where the students who loathed them for taking all the resources loved them. People threw random praises and comments at them as they walked by, leaving them stunned.

They expected these people to treat them differently after what happened, but this abrupt change is far too much to believe easily. This went to show how much the two sides hated each other.

Damon was sure even if he is to commit a very serious offense like ****, as long as it was a lady from the fighter academy, these mages will rally behind him in defense.

He sighed and pushed the silly thoughts aside as he and his team went on turn in their tasks, collecting the reward.

After collecting the reward he quickly left the rest behind who claimed they had something else to do and went back to the chosen dorm without hesitation!

....................

In a few minutes he was already at the castle and on his way up the stairs, he noticed someone walking downstairs. It was a lady with beautiful black and green hair. Her mage robe was tight and short, revealing a lot of goods. To see someone busty and seductive at such an age, even Damon was slightly stunned.

The eyes of the lady were emerald green and enchanting, if Damon could remember clearly this lady should be Lucy, the only female within the chosen. She majored in the warden department and war mage is just a secondary choice.

Sniff!

A foul smell pierced through Damon’s nostril and his eyes lit up with his fangs showing. He turned to look at the lady who walked past him and frowned. Gazing at her now he has caught a sniff of her scent, he saw the figure of a mighty snake overlapping her image but he didn’t make a move. It was obvious she was leaving the dormitory for somewhere unknown, fighting her here will only draw the attention of other chosen which will expose the identity of both of them.

“Basilisk!” He growled in his mind

Amongst the supernatural beasts, a basilisk is one no one would like to joke with. The cunning serpent with its lethal poison and more. The most dangerous thing about this beast is that they are hard to come across, so little is known about their capabilities!

He did his best to ignore her and walked straight to his room. Unlocking the door, he walked in and closed the door, only to be stopped by someone.

Damon’s eyes narrowed as Lucy held on to the door with a frown. Before he could speak she already slipped into the room which made Damon pause for a bit as he tried to control the urge to tear her apart running through his veins.

His eyes gave out a fierce purple light as his energy surged dangerously. With great effort, Damon suppressed his fierce killing intention before turning to the lady.

“You came in here knowing what I am and what I am born to do. What happened, did life get boring? Because you must be tired of living” Damon said with a strained voice as he locked the door to his room and his voice deepened.

Lowering his hands, his claws were made visible to Lucy. His original plan was to return to him then jump out through the window and tail her. Once they get to a lonely spot he won’t hesitate to kill her but since she came to him willing to die, why hold back. By the way, the doors of the rooms were reinforced with magic when locked. Only the archmage would be able to come in as he wishes so no one will be able to interrupt this battle.
