306 Chapter 305: The real battle begins

Linchester had been completely overrun by the enemy and had been taken as a stronghold for the enemy. The inhabitants of this part of the city were being forced to pray to the God of death and destruction.

Statues of Damon were being erected in these places and it was obvious both sides were finally shedding all pretense and preparing to join this war with all they have.

The war wasn’t rushed as after they took Linchester and other cities in other provinces and each army was led by well-known figures amongst Damon’s demonic army in the past. These people include Cassius and the other blood mountain family and more.

In essence, the true power of the palace of death was revealed in this war. It was the only single group that had the chance to take the empire.

Meanwhile, Cecile has been living the celebrity life after the first defeat. Even though Damon didn’t win, he didn’t lose and the Beyond had completely lowered her guard when concerning Cecile. His ability and position were made public, alongside his achievements so far, instantly making everyone know him, at least within the southern province.

****************

“We have to fortify Olanka and Naz... These two are the neighboring cities to Linchester and through these two places they can finally gain access to Light Tower city of the southern province, completely surrounding us and wiping us out at the center” Damon said with a deep frown as he gazed at the massive map on the table.

His face was twisted into a deep frown as he analyzed everything and considered all possible outcomes. The enemy attacked all provinces with the exception of the imperial capital. It was obvious this was not a war aimed at destroying the empire, no! These people planned to conquer the empire and take it!

“A very bold tactic indeed but we can’t be too sure that this may happen. They can simply choose not to go around and attack the center directly.” The Gravity spirit shrugged his shoulder and Damon frowned.

.....

The man clearly did not think taking advice from a kid of this level is necessary. How can a kid born in this century tell gods that have lived for over a millennium how to fight the war? Deep down he found it insulting and Damon could tell.

He could feel all negative emotions.

“I suggest we fortify our defenses here or our chances of losing the southern province are high. The center is too heavily guarded, I doubt the enemy would want to face us head-on. In terms of military might we surpass them and in terms of star generals we have stronger generals on our side. The only way around it now is to raise an even stronger army as they go. As they keep introducing the God of death into each territory and raising his power of faith, naturally the strength of his believers will rise as well.. this is common knowledge” Damon said with a calm look on his face and that was what made it even worse.

The look of superiority lay in those eyes!

The maid silently gazed at the map with a pensive look, ignoring Cecile and his actions directed at the gravity spirit. The Beyond seemed to be thinking deeply on the matter and after a while, he turned his attention to Cecile and asked a question.

“To you plan to have us defend?” She asked in a calm but threatening tone.

“I’m trying to limit unnecessary conflicts!”

Buzzzz!

Everyone in the room was startled by this as they didn’t expect such a reply. The conflict was normal in war, clashes tend to happen. This is the Frist time they have heard about winning a war without actually fighting much.

“And when they finally reach the imperial capital the God of death and destruction will awaken and take back all that is his... The only way this can happen is through the chaos. This is what they wish to create to resurrect the God of death. If that’s the case, doesn’t it sound better to limit all possibilities of reckless fights and fight only when it matters? That way the awakening of the God of death will be delayed... Only in chaos can one find absurd opportunities. This is me trying to seal that gap” Damon said with a deep frown, shaking the hearts of everyone in the room.

They never considered this as they never even considered this as the enemy plan. They had assumed Damon had already risen and was hiding amongst them but now it has been put this way it made more sense. What if he has not risen, rather they have found a way of awakening him through chaos?

If that’s the case, they can just avoid unnecessary deaths and force the enemy to engage in only decisive battles.

Unfortunately, that’s not Damon’s plan. He simply wished to be present in all conflicts happening in this part of the empire. It was the only way he could make good use of all the sacrifices thrown his way and his way alone.

Within the darkness of Cecile’s mind, Cecile sat in the darkness with Damon standing beside him with a stern look on his face.

“You are really brilliant, this explains why you got this far in your past life,” Cecile said with an eye filled with excitement and admiration for the powerful demon lord standing by his side.

“The real work only starts now and your body keeps limiting me. I will have to reap a lot of profit from the next conflict about to happen. From there we can proceed” Damon said.

“What happens if we completely fix this body to be able to contain your power?” Cecile asked.

“Your body will finally become mine and your appearance would have changed to suit mine,” Damon said with his hands hidden within his long sleeves.

“Let me guess, a god soul and a normal soul are not the same. mine is the weaker one and that’s why my appearance will change to yours” Cecile complained with a frown.
