Nozomi could only watch in Horror as her girlfriend, the light of her life, turned into a monster and yet deep down, despite the fear, she wanted to help her. She saw, powerless, how Tomoka rampaged and killed Danzo. She hated the man, but she hated seeing Tomoka like this even more. She hated the feeling of fear coursing through her body at the sight of what her sun had become.
Paralyzed by fear Nozomi couldn’t control her bladder as the smell of ammonia assaulted her nose. She was scared for her life. Would Tomoka kill her in this state? Could Tomoka even turn back? Doubt creeped into her mind like a vile disease, one that highlighted her fear. Maybe it was all a nightmare, maybe she would wake up and everything would be back to normal.
“This is no dream, this is no nightmare.” Even though she wanted to believe otherwise, Nozomi kept whispering those words to herself. She knew deep inside that this was real and worse of all was the fact that Tomoka’s suffering was real as well. Nozomi saw how the monster began charging an attack. A sphere of death and destruction that would bring the end to all.
“No, she is no monster. I just need to get her back!” Nozomi gathered every single shred of courage she could. She didn’t want to give up, not now, not ever, at least not when it came to her sun.
“Tomoka stop!” Nozomi could feel how her body fought against her. She felt her throat trying to clamp up, trying to drown her words. Nozomi was more than aware of how her legs shook under her. However, she wouldn’t give up.
Tomoka had stopped, she stayed there, unmoving, the only sign of life being the eyes that now stared towards Nozomi. This was proof enough for the girl that her loved one was still in there somewhere. At that moment Nozomi made her mind, she would get her Tomoka back or she would die trying because a world without her isn’t one worth living in.
With difficulty and against all her instincts Nozomi forced her body to walk towards Tomoka. Standing in front of her she felt small, powerless but her resolve wouldn’t waver. She would save Tomoka, she has to.
“I don’t know what you are going through.” Nozomi’s throat tried to close up once again. However, this time it happened due to the heartache she felt.
“You have given me so much and yet I feel like I have done nothing for you.” She felt hurt. Now that she was this close to Tomoka she could feel it. Nozomi could feel how hurt Tomoka truly was, how broken she truly was. It hurt her to know that her sun, her light, her love carried such a burden silently.
“So please, please let me carry some of that pain for you.” Nozomi felt lost and yet she wanted to help with all her heart. Rummaging through her pocket she picked up a piece of paper. Holding it gently she showed it to Tomoka.
“Let that be my request.” She couldn’t help but give Tomoka a sad smile. She felt useless and yet here she was trying her best to make things better. Perhaps it would all be for naught but at least she had to try. At that moment, when her determination, when her love, when she was prepared to let go of all she is and would be for the one she loves. At that moment her eyes changed.
Her black eyes turned red as three tomoe appeared around the pupil spinning faster with each second. After a moment the tomoe mixed together forming what looked like a flower in Nozomi’s eyes. With emotions overflowing from her heart she placed her hands on Tomoka’s bony lower jaw.
“Please.” With that the ball of death and destruction that had been floating half a meter above Nozomi simply melted into nothingness. Tomoka closed her jaw and eyes as a calming presence flowed through her. The burning hatred she had been feeling disappeared as if it had never been a thing.
As the two stayed still Tomoka’s monstrous body began shrinking as her figure melted into a black smoke that sipped into the many cuts all over her body. The red head felt tired yet safe as Nozomi kept cradling her face as the two’s foreheads touched.
“From now on, I will.” That's all Tomoka managed to say before she blacked out.
