Natural Disaster: I Started By Hoarding Tens Of Billions Of Supplies

Chapter 326:  Reckless And Foolish

Chapter 326  Reckless And Foolish

After laughing for a while, the short man said, "If there are only about a hundred of them, we can just gather more people and head over there. If they refuse to let us in, we will kill them and take their place by force. Then, we will decide who stays and who leaves."

Listening to the short man's words, the tall man was tempted. After a long pause, he said, "Brother, I heard they have guns."

The short man snorted when he heard the tall man's words. "If they have guns, we can just steal some from the military before we leave this place. Are you still afraid of them if we have more people and more guns?"

Seeing the tall man still wavering, the short man sneered, "If you don't want to do it, then don't. I will do it alone. But when I take over that place, don't come begging me to let you in."

Hearing this, the tall man quickly replied, "Brother, how could you say that? I'm the one who found this information for you!"

"Then will you join me or not?" the short man asked impatiently.

Seeing the short man's determination, the tall man gritted his teeth and nodded, "Alright. I will join you."

Satisfied with his answer, the short man patted the tall man on the shoulder and said, "Great! With your help, gathering thousands of people will be easy."

"Brother, what should we do now?" the tall man asked after a moment of silence.

The short man pondered briefly before replying, "First, we need to gather people. Once we have enough manpower, we will steal weapons and supplies from the military and then leave this base."

Hearing the short man's plan, the tall man nodded, "Alright, I will immediately start gathering people."

Outside the tent, Chen Zizhen was deep in thought after listening to their conversation. Of the more than three hundred people who had followed him from Juncheng City, less than two hundred survived to this day. Most of them had died from starvation, sickness, or overwork.

If he could lead his teammates to that place, they might have a chance to survive the incoming natural disaster. However, following these two men was risky. Not to mention their plan to rob weapons and supplies, which seemed doomed to fail.

Just from the crudeness of their plan, Chen Zizhen could tell these two men were reckless and foolish.

As he was thinking, Chen Zizhen noticed movement inside the tent and decided to leave. The information he had now was enough. He just needed to gather more details before making a decision and informing his teammates.

Meanwhile, Ling Yi, Yuan Rihui, and a few of their comrades were discussing in the villa area. Due to the sudden arrival of the fog, they couldn't go out, which meant their business had come to a halt. Without business, their supplies can only last for half a month at most.

Yuan Rihui looked at his elder cousin and asked, "Cousin, what should we do now? We still have a long list of supplies that need to be picked up and delivered to our clients by the end of the week. If we fail to send them, we might lose our clients—or worse, be beaten to death by them."

Ling Yi's frown deepened as he listened to his younger cousin's words.

Seeing that their boss remained silent, the others exchanged worried glances. Noticing their unease, Yuan Rihui added, "Cousin, please say something."

Ling Yi looked at his anxious younger cousin, then at the worried expressions on his comrades' faces.

Working as a black market dealer was lucrative but also extremely dangerous. Most of his clients were from influential families or powerful individuals, and breaching their contracts would end their lives.

Understanding why his younger cousin and comrades were so anxious, Ling Yi finally said, "Let me think about it for a moment."

He fell silent, mentally reviewing everyone he knew. Of the long list of contacts, none seemed able to help him in this situation. As the weight in his heart grew heavier, his eyes suddenly lit up.

He slapped his thigh and exclaimed, "That's right! How could I forget about her?!"

Seeing the spark in his cousin's eyes, Yuan Rihui quickly asked, "Cousin, have you thought of a solution?"

Ling Yi turned to him and asked, "Rihui, how many supplies and how much gasoline do we have left?"

Yuan Rihui thought for a moment before replying, "Our supplies can last us half a month, and we have about six hundred liters of gasoline left."

With this information, Ling Yi calculated the distance between their base and Long Yu's air raid shelter in his mind.

After finishing his mental calculation, he said, "Prepare the trucks. Once the fog thins, we will visit Miss Yao."

Yuan Rihui's eyes lit up when he heard this and hurriedly said, "Yes, Cousin!"

With Ling Yi's orders, everyone quickly got to work. While they were busy preparing the trucks and contacting their clients, Yao Ran and her friends just noticed that the world had been shrouded by thick fog.

Watching the live surveillance feed displayed on the screen, Yao Ran's expression was grim.

"With this level of visibility, it will be hard for us to go out and patrol the area," she said.

Long Yu nodded, "You are right. Thankfully, the air circulation system is good enough to purify the fog. Otherwise, we might have died in our sleep last night."

Yao Ran and Shi Xuan nodded in agreement. As they continued monitoring the surveillance feed, Shi Xuan suddenly paused the video and pointed at the screen.

"Captain, Yao Ran, look at this," he said.

Both of them turned to the screen and noticed something moving.

"Zoom in," Long Yu ordered.

Shi Xuan typed a few commands, zooming in and shifting the image to the main screen. With the enlarged view, the three of them could clearly see the creature shown on the screen.
