My Divine Pet System

Chapter 42

C42 – The Door Opened!

Ji Buyu’s “White Tower” issued a threatening sound before a swift tail swipe struck him across the face.

Propelled by the immense force, Ji Buyu tumbled across the ground, rolling several times before coming to a halt.

By this time, Qin Hongyu had regained much of his Spiritual Energy. Alongside Fu Tian and Bo Miaojiao, he closed in on Ji Buyu, effectively cornering him.

“What are you planning to do?” Ji Buyu, clutching his bloodied face, quivered as he spoke.

“Isn’t it obvious what we intend to do? An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth!” Qin Hongyu cracked his knuckles menacingly, inching closer with each step.

“Don’t be reckless! My uncle is Ji Yin, the esteemed director of Sacred Heart Academy. Lay a finger on me, and you’ll regret it!” Ji Buyu struggled to rise, failing repeatedly, and could only prop himself up with his hands, retreating desperately.

“So that’s your secret. You’re bold because you’ve got a protector at Sacred Heart Academy! But I don’t recall the academy forbidding the seizure of Spiritual Cards, do they?” Qin Hongyu’s expression hardened as he let out a cold laugh.

Without further ado, Qin Hongyu reached for the Grimoire of Demon Spirits floating beside Ji Buyu.

He flipped to the last pages of the Grimoire, where Spiritual Cards were temporarily stored. Once officially absorbed, they could never be retrieved.

Qin Hongyu discovered three Spiritual Cards in Ji Buyu’s Grimoire and swiftly pocketed them.

“I was expecting a treasure trove of Spiritual Cards, but you only have three? That’s a letdown!” Qin Hongyu mocked.

“Give me back my Spiritual Cards!” Ji Buyu lunged to reclaim his cards but Qin Hongyu easily sidestepped him.

“You’ve crossed me repeatedly. Taking your Spiritual Cards and ensuring your elimination is already more than generous!” Qin Hongyu’s sneer was sharp as ice.

“This isn’t over between us!” Ji Buyu retorted defiantly.

“We’ll see if you ever get that chance!” Qin Hongyu’s sneer turned into a smirk.

With those final words, Qin Hongyu delivered a swift chop with his hand, knocking Ji Buyu out cold, and left him lying on the ground.

“Let’s get moving! It’s about time we head out,” Qin Hongyu said, glancing at his watch.

“Are we letting him off too easily?” Fu Tian sneered as he looked down at Ji Buyu, his voice dripping with contempt.

“He’s nothing but a dog! Besides, without his Spiritual Card, he stands no chance of getting into Sacred Heart Academy,” Qin Hongyu reassured with a dismissive wave of his hand and a nonchalant tone.

Qin Hongyu had never taken Ji Buyu seriously. To him, Ji Buyu was merely a jumping jack, unworthy of his attention.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

Besides, she was still a student. Even as a Battle Spirit Fighter, she couldn’t afford to flout the law until she had achieved the desired level of realm and strength.

“Alright then, let’s head out now. With that, we’ve all cleared the second stage of the assessment,” Fu Tian said with a smile.

Before long, the trio made their way back to the entrance of the Iron Woods. A large crowd of candidates had already gathered there, eagerly awaiting the opening of the gates.

It was clear, though, that the crowd was significantly smaller than the one that had entered the Iron Woods the day before—nearly half the size, in fact!

As the sound of mechanical gears turning filled the air, the gates to the Iron Woods swung open once again.
