Chapter 249: Return of Belize
Chapter 249: Return of Belize
Hearing his words, Derik was stunned. He finally understood why the shadow dragons were reduced to such a pathetic level. Not only were they weakened but the other dragon clans never gave them the chance to recover! They are victims of circumstances and not the weaklings Derik expected them to be.
He assumed that the eggs on each of the structures harbored the injured ancestors of each clan but this one had the least aura. While the others had enough power of faith to heal their injuries, the shadow dragons were lacking in this aspect. It was only a matter of time before they disappear from existence!
"Now I understand... Allow me to apologize for overreacting earlier... I just find it irritating when weaker life forms are at the top of the food chain" Derik said calmly.
The fierce light in his eyes had died down and his body was no longer surrounded by his death aura. To the dragon ancestor, this can be considered a sign of goodwill. He is lowering his defense to prove he bears no ill intentions, unknown to him that wasn't what Derik felt. He simply let himself feel free because he saw no reason to keep releasing his aura. He didn't want to attract too much attention already.
"If the other ancestral dragons are as strong as it, then they should already know we are here... Beings at the demigod realm! We can't evade them so easily, especially since we caused a scene here" Lucien suddenly spoke up and Derik frowned.
He had this feeling at the back of his mind but tried to ignore it. He was a bit annoyed that Lucien said It out and Belize even nodded in agreement. They either leave now or fight!
"What do you plan to do?" Belize asked with a hint of curiosity in his tone. He wanted to know the type of person Derik is and that's why he only asks questions more and speaks little.
"No matter what my allegiance remains with the human race... Your invading force, alongside the other invaders heading to the central continent, will be wiped out by me... The only reason I am yet to make a move against you is my love for those with the dark elements, so this is a one-time offer... Join me and we will wipe out the competition and I will take you back to the central continent and give you a new home!" Derik said so easily, even Lucien was stunned.
Derik's confidence she speaking, even when others are involved can be considered as one of his most admirable traits. His actions exude unnatural confidence, one built through countless victories.
Hearing those words Belize kept gazing at Derik with a cold look in its eyes, it hated that fact it could not see through this persona and this made it even more exciting! It proves that Derik's power is as boundless as he expected even with the limitations placed by the world.
"Do I have a choice?" Belize said in a bitter tone.
If it doesn't join Derik, its clan will be wiped out eventually but joining Derik also means losing its freedom. It can only blame itself for being unlucky.
"Dont get the wrong idea I have no plans of controlling you... I have no plans of making your clan indebted to me... Wiping out the forces here is a major win for me. We are simply helping each other out... All I ask is that you control your people when we reach the central continent and refrain from attacking humans or causing chaos... Apart from that, we are on equal terms! I do not believe those with our nature of power should be subdued, it feels strange" Derik said, leaving both Lucien and Belize stunned.
They never expected to see this 'righteous' side of Derik! Who would believe that the monstrous death god has a soft spot like this? If they heard this from anyone's mouth, they would have beat the person to death for lying!
"You have my thanks" Belize said with a lowered head but Derik only nodded in reply and stretched his hand forward!
His eyes turned golden and a sacred halo appeared all over him. Stretching his hand forward Derik allowed the life energy surge into Belize's festering wounds, healing him slowly. While Derik didn't have the life authority like Cyrus, neither did he have the abundant life force to support this intense operation so he could only substitute with the life force of the dead residing within him!
Healing Belize of his injuries cost him his entire undead army, leaving him with only thing strongest ones which he saved for the last. Sacrificing so much life force from the souls of his undead army he ended up recreating healing capabilities almost comparable to that of Lucien.
Utilizing so much life force in a short amount of time was tiring even for Derik. He staggered back and watched as Belize's massive body dealt with other minor injuries left.
The immense aura around the egg vanished and the shadow dragons waiting outside were stunned. All they could tell was that immense holy aura appeared and suddenly the aura of their ancestor vanished! They wondered if they made a mistake by bringing Derik and Lucien here?
Could they have killed the founding ancestor?
Many questions surged into their minds and many began to panic while the elders were sweating profusely. Suddenly, a man stepped out of the shell. He wore a purple sleeveless robe with countless draconic ancient letters written on his arms. His eyes were bright purple and his long shoulder-length hair was black with purple stripes.
Behind the man was Lucien and a slightly exhausted Derik, walking slowly behind. Seeing Belize back to his youthful days again, they couldn't help but wonder what Derik did in there. Even Belize was shocked that not only was he healed but he was made younger.
"How did you do it?" Lucien asked and Derik sighed.
"I used up the remaining time magic power stored up in my devour to reverse his time and return him to his peak condition! I don't want the shadow dragon leader dying a century after I healed him and save them... They are more useful with him alive" Derik said calmly
