Chapter 165 Strange Anna

The governor naturally had his own palace, which was also made of wood but each piece of wood was extremely strong.

It became his residence as well as the place where he practiced so he did not allow anyone to live with him including his wife and children.

They lived in different places and his adult children had their own homes.

This was also because his power was too great as a Magician King.

His practice sometimes accidentally released too strong an aura and his palace was shaken violently.

If weaker people were nearby, it was also dangerous for them.

The palace was surrounded by a simpler wooden fence with a few soldiers standing guard.

When Tommy arrived, all the soldiers greeted him, letting him in without inspection.

However, Tommy stopped Aldric and Anna.

"You two should wait here first, I'll talk to my father," he told them.

Aldric and Anna nodded to him with Anna allowing him to go alone.

Soon after Tommy entered the palace.

Aldric was still curious how the governor was doing now. Was he still fine or was he frustrated?

He couldn't be sure before seeing him in person.

Anna, who knew nothing, thought everything was fine.

She waited with a seemingly calm expression.

"Lady Anna!" Aldric called out to her so she looked at him with a questioning expression.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

"That friend of yours, he seemed friendly at first, but why does he suddenly seem lackluster?" he asked.

He was very curious about this so he asked.

It wasn't appropriate to ask before but now there was no one around them, so he thought it was fine.

Hearing the question, Anna suddenly chuckled.

"He's actually a friendly and nice guy, but he's very sensitive and sulks easily," she replied.

"Ohh, does he sulk?" Aldric was surprised to hear that.

"But why does he sulk?"

He became confused.

Nothing had happened during their meeting, so how could he sulk?

"So you don't know?" Anna said in response which made Aldric shake his head.

"Why?"

"He has a huge crush on me even though he already has a wife. Seeing me walking with a man and it was a young man, he probably thought it was strange because of his crush on me plus that I don't usually walk around with a man, let alone help that man to meet an important person. Although this is a game so things here are a little different and we can't completely live like in the real world, but maybe because this game feels too real, so he didn't notice. It's just that I'm not sure what to expect now. I hope he doesn't think I'm a bad woman who pays a young man to keep me company." Anna didn't mind explaining it to Aldric, but this only made Aldric open his mouth.

He wasn't sure how to react after knowing that the man was sulking with jealousy.

"Lady Anna, me?" He felt guilty.

Anna's relationship with him might go bad after this because of such a misunderstanding.

Anna waved her hand as she replied, "no need to worry too much. I'm happy if he sulks. You know, when a married man chases after me, it just makes my life troublesome. I've already been visited by his wife who went berserk on me. It was because she found a picture of me on her husband's cell phone. Thank you, Aldric, it's because of your help. I'm sure he won't be so obsessed with me anymore."

Aldric, "..."

At this point, Aldric naturally struggled to calm down.

This was not just about Anna.

The problem wasn't that the man thought of him as a young man paid by a woman?

If he didn't think that way, he might think Anna was in a romantic relationship with him.

Anna hoped he didn't think she was paying a young man but she was happy with his jealousy.

Did she wish he thought their relationship was a pure romantic relationship?

Weren't both equally crazy to him?

"Uhmmm..." He unintentionally cleared his throat.

"Lady Anna, what is wrong with you?" He then asked and he had no idea what he was asking and why he was asking.

He just felt very strange right now.

However, Anna did not actually look confused by his question even though it was a question that he himself did not understand.

"Isn't it interesting?" she replied.

When she said that, she blinked her left eye at him again.

"What's interesting?" Aldric asked again, not knowing the meaning of her words.

"If we are considered a date by that guy," she replied casually. "Hahaha, you're a young guy who managed to date a super rich woman older than you, beating Weston, I hope he doesn't cry from jealousy."

Aldric, "..."

"Lady Anna, how can you think that?" Aldric stared at her in disbelief.

It was one thing if she was just thinking, but she was actually saying it to him.

He felt as if he was being seduced by her.

"Hahaha, what's with your reaction?" Anna laughed again, questioning his reaction.

"It's just other people's thoughts, don't think too much about it," she said.

Aldric started scratching his head as everything she said made his mind wander.

Before he could say anything else, Tommy, the governor's son finally came out of the wooden palace.

Aldric immediately turned his gaze towards him, finding that he looked unremarkable.

This meant he didn't have any particular thoughts weighing on him after he met his father, the governor.

Did that mean the governor was fine?

"Mr. Aldric, Lady Anna, please come in, my father is waiting for you. He wants to see you first before deciding if you are qualified to accept this mission," he told them both.

Aldric and Anna looked at each other but Aldric had different thoughts.

Anna nodded to Tommy as she said, "sure... Let's go see your father!"

After that, Tommy led the way for them to the governor's palace.

They walked at a pace that was neither fast nor slow, arriving at the terrace not long after.

The door was only slightly open, Tommy pushed it open so Aldric and Anna could enter.

After Tommy stepped inside, they followed him without any hesitation.
