Robyn noticed the change in her voice and pulled over. He turned to face her saying, ''I'm sorry. I didn't even ask you before taking you out. I wanted to surprise you''

''Robyn, if you know what happened to me, you are going to hate me forever. I am not as innocent as my other friends and my past isn't that pleasant. You shouldn't be too curious about me'' Brenda finished and turned to open the door and he held her back.

''Now, I am even curious about that past that you are trying to hide, Brenda. I don't care, let me be the judge of whether you are innocent or not. the way I see things is different''

''Robyn I can't do this. I know what you want, but I can't give you that. I really can't. You should let me go''

''I can't do that. Brenda, I don't know what you are running away from but I am confident that I can face it with you. It does matter what it is''

''Test me'' he said resolutely and Brenda took her phone and locked into a closed site that she still had access to. She clicked on a couple of pictures and showed them to her.

Robyn furrowed his brows and frowned. He upsized the phone and asked her, ''why are you showing me nude pictures of another woman? What kind of man do you take me for?''

''Those are not the pictures of another woman'' tears swelled up in her eyes as she looked at him. A sudden realisation hit him and he looked at her.

''Don't tell me those are No way, right?''

''This is what I am facing, Robyn. One time I got my nude pictures leaked out for everyone to see by a man I trusted so much. Those pictures are forever on the internet and can't be erased. My life was ruined by a man I loved with my whole heart'' Brenda looked at him and laughed dryly, ''see? I told you I wasn't so pure. Now that you know this, you must think that I am cheap, right? I don't even know why I am telling you all this. Robyn, let's just remain as colleagues, okay?''

''No. I don't want to remain just friends. I am not looking for a pure woman either. This happened ten years ago, right?''

''What?'' Brenda was confused.

''Scientifically, it takes ten years for one's body to replace every single cell inside them. This means that the woman in this picture isn't you anymore''

''Brenda, we are going to celebrate your birthday and I'm going to make sure it is everything you've ever wanted'' he turned after saying that and started to drive away. He held her hand and placed it on his thigh as he drove.

Robyn didn't stop the car till he arrived at his villa and pulled over. Brenda looked at the location and frowned, ''the birthday is at your place?''

''Yes, I already ordered the cake, it should be at the door by now'' he got down and went to open the door for her, ''come with me'' he took her hand and went inside with her.

They saw the cake in front of the door and Robyn took it, ''let's hurry before the birthday time is over''

''Actually, I don't need a birthday party. Your sincerity is enough for me''

''That won't do. You haven't celebrated your birthday in the last ten years, we need to celebrate and I have the right wine for it. Sit down, I will bring some candles and the wine''

Brenda chuckled and shook her head, she didn't know why he was trying so hard but it warmed her heart.

She sat down and waited patiently for him to return. In the meantime, she took the remote and turned the TV on. They were showing a movie and the couple were in the middle of a steamy scene with the man on top of the woman. Brenda touched her lips and wondered what it would feel like if she was to kiss someone. It had been so long since she was intimate with someone. It felt like she had forgotten how that feeling was like.

''Here, I got what we need''

When she heard Robyn's voice, she hurriedly picked the remote and attempted to change the channel and instead pressed the volume and the moaning increased.

Robyn stopped in his strides and looked at the scene in front of him with a surprised gaze. The couple were having sex and the woman was moaning sensually. The scene was enough to get someone off, especially the way the man was thrusting in and out of the woman.

Robyn coughed. It was obvious he was flustered by the scene.

Brenda cussed and wanted to dig a hole and bury herself inside. She kept pressing the volume up and her face turned red from embarrassment. Her hands were shaky and she looked confused.

''Let me do it'' Robyn took the remote from her and turned the screen off and she finally sighed and lowered her gaze biting her lips.

''I am not that kind of woman. I just wanted to watch something and then they were showing this kind of show. I didn't know I wouldn't have watched if I knew it was showing this kind of movie'' he tried to explain but realised the more she did the more suspicious she sounded. She frowned and sighed. What kind of trouble did she put herself into? What if he taught she was a lewd woman?

Robyn looked at him trying so hard to explain herself and smiled. He sat next to her and set the candle sticks and the wine down, ''usually a lot of TV stations show steamy movies at this time of the night. A lot of TV stations are probably showing such kind of movies, so it isn't abnormal to turn the TV on and see such things but.'' He looked at her and she flushed.

''But, what?'' she quickly asked.

''Why is your face so red? I could boil water if it put the saucepan next to your face'' Robyn chuckled.

''Assh, I feel so ashamed right now'' she bit her lips.

''Let's do what we are here to do and leave the couple to act their steamy scene out'' he said and turned to remove the cake from the box. He inserted a candle stick in the middle and lit it up before turning to look at her, ''here, make a wish''

''En'' Brenda closed her hands with her hands clasped together. after a while she opened her eyes and blew the candle off.

''What did you wish for?''

''I wished that Jenny and Kody will find happiness with each other. Chloe will get enrolled into her Master class. Kris and Ronald will be happy''

''What about yourself? What did you wish for yourself?''

''Myself? Nothing''

''You are always taking care of everyone and forget of yourself. Let's make a wish together. This time for yourself''

''But, the candle is off?''

''It's not yet 00:00 yet. Close your eyes and make the wish''

''Okay'' Brenda closed her eyes and made her wish for herself before opening her eyes.

''What did you wish for this time around?''

''I wished that I will get promoted and my pay check would increase at least by two zeros at the end of my current pay''

''Whoa, so typical of you. what are you going to use that money for?''

''I need it to pay the hacker who will be able to remove those pictures from the internet. Because of them, a lot of people have stopped communicating with me and a lot of people see me as a cheap and dirty woman. I just want them to disappear for good''

''Should I make them disappear?'' Robyn asked looking at her.

''Huh? There is only one hacker in D-City who can make that happen and the last time I got in touch with his team, they said if I could the money ready they would communicate with me''

''Who is this hacker?''

''A. S, I only communicate with him through his email''

''I see'' Robyn didn't ask further and picked the knife, cutting the cake into a small piece. He placed it on a plate and gave it to her. ''Here, happy birthday Brenda''

''Thank you, Robyn''

''This is the first time you are calling me by my name. I like the sound of it coming from your lips''

''I will call you that from now onwards''

Robyn opened the wine and poured some into two glasses and gave one to her, ''here, to our new found friendship''

''To our new found friendship'' Brenda tossed with him and sipped the wine. The night was filled with them making small talks and getting to know more about themselves.
