Love So Sweet

Chapter 130

130 It’s Raining

The lighting in the club was dimmed, but, the atmosphere in the room was quite lively.

Fang Su Jin sat at the table while looking at her surroundings. This was the first time that she had come to this place and she was curious about everything in the room.

Her gaze finally stopped at the tall boy across the room.

At this time, Zhang Yi Hai was sitting with a group of his friends, chatting in a low voice.

Her gaze stayed on him for a long time

Fang Su Jin could not understand how did she agree to come to this place with Zhang Yi Hai.

She had bought what she came to buy. According to logic, she should be heading straight home after running into those troublemakers.

However, instead of calling for the chauffeur to fetch her home, she decided to follow Zhang Yi Hai to see his friend.

Fang Su Jin wondered what was going through her mind when she had agreed.

.....

After pondering about it for a while, Fang Su Jin finally came up with an excuse.

She figured that the only reason she decided to come with Zhang Yi Hai was that she was afraid that the troublemakers would return to harass her.

Zhang Yi Hai had beaten them hard. It was not strange if they would return, wanting to look for revenge. At this time, it would be safer if she stayed with Zhang Yi Hai instead.

Once the idea came to her mind, Fang Su Jin heaved a breath of relief and decided to stop thinking about this matter.

Her stomach started to grumble.

Fang Su Jin glanced at Zhang Yi Hai again and wished that he would be done sooner. She wanted to go home earlier and grab something to eat.

While she was still thinking about what she wanted to eat, a waiter walked over and send her a plate of food and drinks.

Fang Su Jin stared at the plate looked up and stopped the waiter before he could walk away. “Hello, sorry. But I did not order this food.”

“Miss, your fried order the food for you,” the waiter said. He turned around and finally pointed to Zhang Yi Hai who was sitting across the room. “It’s that Mister over there. The tall guy in that dark blue shirt. Is he not your friend?”

Fang Su Jin followed the waiter’s gaze ad saw that he was pointing at Zhang Yi Hai. “It’s alright. He’s my friend.” Her lips curled into a smile. “Then, thank you.”

The waiter nodded politely. “Enjoy your meal.”

Once the man had gotten farther away, Fang Su Jin turned to look at Zhang Yi Hai.

Their gazes met briefly and Zhang Yi Hai nodded at her.

Fang Su Jin quickly retracted her gaze and looked at the plate of sandwiches and sweet potato fries with a complicated look on her face.

She wondered if he had remembered that she had mentioned wanting to grab something to eat.

Her stomach continued to let out a low grumble.

Fang Su Jin finally decided to eat those sandwiches first. At least the snack would help her to pad her stomach before she could go home and have a proper meal.

...

On the other side of the room, the corner of Zhang Yi Hai’s lips turned up a little bit as he watched Fang Su Jin pick up one piece of sandwiches and ate them slowly.

However, the smile on his face quickly disappeared when he turned to Qian Ji. Seeing the strange smile on his friend’s face made him frown.

“Yi Hai, you haven’t told us about that girl.” Qian Ji’s wriggled his eyebrows, wanting to tease his usually serious friend. “Your girlfriend?”

“Don’t talk nonsense.”

“Why am I talking nonsense? We all saw the two of you were talking when you entered. Don’t pretend that you don’t know her.” Qian Ji clicked his tongue. “Yi Hai, your girlfriend would be disappointed in you if you pretend not to know her.”

Zhang Yi Hai scooted away slightly from this friend. “She’s my sister’s friend.”

“What’s wrong with...” Qian Ji’s speech halted immediately. “Your sister’s friend? Zhang Yi Hai, isn’t your sister five years older than you?” He watched Zhang Yi Hai nod before turning to look at Fang Su Jin who was busy munching on some sweet potato fries. “It can’t be... your sister’s friend looks quite young.”

Hearing his words, Zhang Yi Hai peeked at Fang Su Jin from a distance. “I run into her downstairs. Two boys were trying to harass her. So, I asked her to come with me for a while.”

Qian Ji’s expression changed slightly when Zhang Yi Hai mentioned the incident. “That’s right. It seemed that it would not be the first time that those boys came to this street and harass someone. I’ve heard that this had happened a few times already. Hey... If I ever run into those boys, I would definitely beat them up.”

Zhang Yi Hai lowered his gaze he continued to listen to Qian Ji’s words. He decided to bring up this matter to her uncle and let him look at the boys later.

After catching up with Qian Ji and his friends for a while, Zhang Yi Hai decided to leave.

With Fang Su Jin around, he could always use the girl as his reason to head back earlier instead of staying and playing a few rounds of games with them.

Zhang Yi Hai paid for Fang Su Jin’s food before he walked over to her side. The moment he approached, the girl instantly straightened her back.

Seeing the way she was behaving made him wonder if this girl was afraid of him. It was then that he realized that Fang Su Jin was always on her guard whenever he was around.

“What is it?” Fan Su Jin swallowed. “Are you done here?”

“Uh-huh.” Zhang Yi Hai nodded. “Let’s go. I’ll take you home.”

“Oh.” Fang Su Jin gathered her belongings and the two of them headed downstairs.

Their movement halted as they arrived at the exit.

Fang Su Jin looked at the rain with her mouth slightly agape. “It’s raining.”

The weather was just fine an hour ago. Why did it suddenly rain?

She turned to Zhang Yi Hai and spoke, “What should we do now? Wait until the rain stop?”

Zhang Yi Hai looked at the sky. “It doesn’t seem that the rain is going to stop anytime soon.” He looked at Fang Su Jin again as he was thinking of what he should do. “My car isn’t that far.”

“I don’t mind,” Fang Su Jin spoke quickly. “I’ll go with you.”

Zhang Yi Hai was going to ask her to wait for him at the entrance. However, he would be worried to leave her here. He took off his jacket before handing it over to Fang Su Jin. “Give me your stuff.”

Fang Su Jin stared at the jacket in her hand. Then, she passed the paper bag in her hand to Zhang Yi Hai. She couldn’t help but wonder what he planned to do.

Before she knew it, Zhang Yi Hai covered her head with his jacket. He hugged the paper bag closely to his chest with one hand. Then, he held her hand with another.

Her eyes widened in surprise as Fang Su Jin looked at their intertwined hands.

“Let’s run.”

With a tug, Zhang Yi Hai ran into the rain, pulling Fang Su Jin along with him.
