Chapter 66: Chapter 66 - The Rare Opportunities
Chapter 66: - The Rare Opportunities
After pondering for a while, Broken decided to allocate the points in a way that seemed fair for his current situation.
[Spend 60 Stat Points into Strength]
[Spend 40 Stat Points into Agility]
[Spend 20 Stat Points into Intelligence]
[Spend 30 Stat Points into Constitution]
[Spend 30 Stat Points into Stamina]
And this was the final result of his Status:
[...]
[Health: 1,280 Mana: 1,188]
[Strength: 180 Agility: 120 Intelligence: 110 Constitution: 128 Stamina: 120]n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
[...]
Feeling pleased with his decision, he closed the status screen and continued his walk through Deadbay City.
"I'm beginning to gain a bit of momentum. I just need to push myself a bit more," he said to himself.
Moreover, he had the advantage of being able to craft high-grade items. His level was still relatively low, and his stats were far from those of the top players. However, he could make up for it by crafting high-grade and high-level items. He could use equipment up to level 130 at his current level. If he pushed himself further, he could equip items up to level 150. With Polly leveling up alongside him, it wouldn't take long for him to catch up.
He scanned the bustling plaza in the heart of Deadbay, his eyes darting from vendor to vendor. He sidestepped a group of boisterous street performers and dodged around a cart selling questionable meat-on-a-stick. He was looking for a merchant who might have what he needed for today's crafting plans.
Finally, he laid eyes on what he was looking for. He approached the merchant's stand, which was hastily crafted from wooden planks and other scraps. The man behind the counter looked up at him with a bored expression.
"What can I do ya for?" the merchant asked.
Broken cleared his throat and replied gruffly, "I need some basic equipment blueprints for a swordsman class."
The vendor raised an eyebrow. "You look like you could use a good weapon too. But I only have plans—nothing tangible."
"That'll do," snapped Broken.
He could start crafting something with higher-quality equipment, but it would take time for him to acquire the materials. For now, he should equip himself adequately until he can gather more resources for a better set.
After rummaging through stacks of parchments strewn across the vendor's table, Broken finally found what he was looking for a set of blueprints depicting basic armor fit for a swordsman class.
With a satisfied grunt, he handed over several coins and snatched up the blueprints, tucking them away into his inventory.
As he turned to leave, the merchant called out to him, "Be careful out there, young man. The world is full of dangers."
"And that's exactly why I'm here," Broken replied stoically before disappearing into the crowd.
Broken concluded that the only way to acquire a large amount of high-quality iron ores cheaply was to mine it himself. He could buy it, but that would cost a lot of money, as merchants would surely hike up the prices compared to what they paid miners. Heeding this thought, he decided to head to the nearest cave and mine the iron ores himself. He had plenty of time to do this. He just needed to mine enough to craft the armor set.
Broken rode atop Polly, his fox spirit beast, as they sped across a clearing towards a forest path leading up the mountain near Deadbay City. The path would take them to a cave where he intended to spend some time gathering iron ore. They raced at top speed, Polly's tails streaming out behind them like white banners.
Broken had postponed some important matters recently due to overwhelming
responsibilities. Among them was inspecting the detailed blueprints of the weapons he had received from Fokil and Gia.
[Moonvine Knuckles Blueprint]
[Grade: Elite Unique]
[This mysterious knuckle weapon can tap into the powers of the universe and unleash its mighty vines from any direction.
With this weapon, you can grab onto your opponents from any angle with the flick of a wrist, leaving them completely helpless.
Plus, the knuckles are so fashionable that they can make even the most mundane battle look good!
So don't worry, you won't just be winning fights, you'll be winning style points too!] [You will need some Orichalcum, an Elite-grade or higher monster core from a plant-type monster, some steel, and one super-rare Moonstone to craft these knuckles.]
[A hidden feature was discovered. You can exchange the Monster Core into a Monster Soul Stone in the materials for a high potential to gain a higher grade than the maximum grade available for this blueprint.]
[Crafting this item requires the skill of an Expert Blacksmith.]
Broken studied the information on the blueprint with a keen eye, attempting to fully
comprehend its contents.
"It looks like my guess was correct," he uttered with a wide grin. "The Moonvine Knuckles is an item that can be crafted using Moonstone materials, which makes it quite rare since I'm the only player who has the Moonstones right now."
He continued to read, his eyes widening with excitement. "This weapon combines plant-type monster skills and spatial or dimensional abilities," he exclaimed. "I think this may be related to the Ancient Element! The value of this blueprint is priceless-it's an incredibly rare and precious item." He was in disbelief, trembling with astonishment at the thought of how valuable it was. "And Fokil gave me this blueprint, even though he doesn't look friendly from the outside. This is incredible!"
But then he noticed that the blacksmith rank required to craft the weapon was Expert, which, of course, meant that only Broken, the sole player with this rank, could craft it. This item was beyond the reach of any other player due to its demanding requirements. He wondered what kind of weapon he could create from this blueprint.
But obtaining the materials also seemed far from easy. The Orichalcum, Elite-grade monster core, and super-rare Moonstone were not common items. "Getting these materials won't be a simple task," he mused.
He continued, "Steel is the simplest to obtain here. I can easily fulfill this material requirement. But an Elite-grade monster core from a plant-type monster? That'll be a challenge. Elite-grade monsters are not easy to find, not as simple as lower-grade monsters. Besides that, I still don't have any information on how and where to find them. The plant- type monster should be deep in the jungle."
"And what's this Orichalcum? That's definitely something new for me."
"And lastly," he said, "this blueprint has a hidden feature that can be unlocked by swapping a Monster Core as a material for the Monster Soul Stone. This item is very hard to obtain, but if I do manage to get it, there's a chance I'll get a weapon with a higher grade!" He was silent for an instant as he imagined the potential of the hidden feature. "I mean, I could get a weapon
above Unique—a Legendary-grade one!"
Broken's skin prickled with goosebumps when he mentioned the word 'Legendary'. "I'm sure no one has acquired a Legendary item in this game yet," he said.
"Those legendary items are only present in Yunatea's history-owned by kings, the strongest knights, legendary figures, and the like. But I have a chance to craft one!"
He grinned widely, his excitement evident. "This will be so much fun!"
As Broken rode Polly through the trees and towards the hills, the three-tailed fox moved with
incredible agility. Her paws barely touched the ground as she dodged around branches and undergrowth. The path ahead was a blur of color as they moved at a swift pace, navigating
around trees and bushes with ease.
"Alright, next item," Broken muttered enthusiastically. "Unseen Universe Necklace
Blueprint."
