Chapter 642:  Chapter 642 - The Crawling Masterpiece

"Beebot, come out!" Broken shouted.

At his command, Beebot emerged. The pride of his creations, this golem carriage was nothing short of a masterpiece. Nôv(el)B\\jnn

Its sleek, rectangular frame rested on five pairs of sturdy, insect-like metal legs, gleaming with a resilient finish. The entire structure radiated a moonlit glow, standing impressive in the night.

Broken couldn't hide the satisfaction in his eyes as he took in the sight before him.

At the forefront, the golem's insect-like head sprang to life, its twin glowing blue eyes ignited.

This was no ordinary means of transportation; it was a fully autonomous marvel, designed to obey commands and adapt its decisions to various situations.

With a grin, Broken leaped to the left side of the carriage. The door opened, and light from inside spilled out, inviting him in. Settling into the plush interior, he immediately felt its comfort—every detail crafted to perfection.

As he relaxed into the seat, the internal lights dimmed, and exterior crystals activated, casting a gentle illumination around the carriage. From the square windows lining the walls, Broken could see the surroundings clearly.

"Let's go, Beebot!" Broken command. "Move out!"

He felt a twinge of nervousness—it was the first time Beebot would actually move!

And then…

The moment finally came. The golem stirred to life, and to his amazement, the massive insect-like legs began to move in perfect synchronization. The carriage started to glide forward smoothly, and Broken watched in awe as his creation performed just as he'd envisioned.

Surprisingly, sitting inside the carriage was incredibly comfortable. The ride was stable, with none of the jolts or bumps he had half-expected.

Oh, really?! A mix of delight and disbelief washing over him. He hadn't imagined the movement would be this smooth—or this fast?

Curious, Broken glanced out the window to see Polly running alongside. He had intentionally asked Polly to follow, wanting to compare their speeds.

At a normal pace, there wasn't much difference between the two. But the moment Beebot activated its Charge Skill or Speed Boost Skill, the gap became strikingly clear. The golem surged forward with an incredible burst of speed, leaving Polly trailing behind.

Even more impressive was the experience inside the carriage—despite the rapid acceleration, it remained as comfortable as ever.

Another feature that struck him was the one-way visibility. From the outside, no one could see who was inside the carriage, maintaining privacy. Yet from within, the crystal-clear windows provided an unobstructed view of the surroundings.

"This crawling carriage… truly extraordinary!" he thought as he leaned back, a satisfied grin spreading across his face. Broken stayed seated for a while, savoring the experience. Even as the crawling golem crossed a stretch of desert, the ride inside remained astonishingly smooth.

Amazing! Truly amazing! He couldn't wait to bring more people along to enjoy this creation.

Excited, he commanded Polly to enter the golem, then summoned Pawpaw to join him inside the carriage. Finally, he summoned Blaze, his fiery skeleton horse.

With everyone now aboard, Broken made his way to the rear section of the carriage, where he had installed a blacksmith workstation. Opening the door that connected the passenger area to the workshop, he stepped inside and settled into the space, ready to put it to use.

A satisfied grin spread across his face as he lit the forging tool's flames, watching them roar to life. Taking out his Royal Hammer, he brought it down on the anvil with a ringing strike, the sound echoing through the small space.

It's a bit cramped, he thought, glancing around. I'll need to get used to working in such a tight area. Broken swung open the back door, revealing the forge setup positioned to face outwards. This arrangement meant he worked with his back to the open door.

However, leaving the rear open like this proved far from ideal. The wind disrupted the forge's flames, making them unsteady—a critical flaw that could compromise the quality of his blacksmithing.

Fortunately, Broken had thought ahead. The rear of the golem was fitted with a large window, and additional windows on both the right and left sides. This design ensured he wouldn't feel trapped in a cramped space while working.

Of course, smithing inside such a setup was far from optimal, but it was undeniably better than sitting idle in a carriage for hours on end. It was a significant step forward, nonetheless. Then, a thought crossed his mind—why not just use the Unseen Universe of Moonlight to teleport straight back to Slumdon Town?

He certainly could, without question.

But this was his first journey in the crawling golem, and he wanted to savor every moment of it.

There was nothing wrong with indulging in the experience.

He then set to work repairing some of his equipment, which had begun to show a noticeable decrease in durability. This would keep him occupied until he finally reached Slumdon Town.

Leon sat in the passenger seat while Ronald drove, the car rolling to a stop near a park in Leon's neighborhood.

"We're here," Ronald announced. "The last member is waiting."

Leon furrowed his brows, a suspicion forming in his mind about who Ronald was referring to.

Stepping out of the car, he made his way toward the spot Ronald indicated. It was a familiar place—one he often visited when meeting someone.

Sitting on the park bench was a girl with wavy blonde hair. Leon's lips curled into a faint smile as he recognized her.

"Hi, Leon," Laura greeted, waving to him.

Leon approached her and took a seat beside her on the bench.

She chuckled softly as he joined her. "Was it too predictable?"

"I think so," Leon replied with a smirk. "It's clear the team needed a melee fighter, and when Ronald mentioned the person lived nearby, you seemed like the perfect candidate."

Laura smiled, nodding.

She then turned to the bag she had brought with her, pulling something out. "I made something… food," she said softly.

"For me?" "Yes, of course."

"You're always making me food. I really need to repay you somehow."

"That's just me asking you to try my cooking," Laura said. "So… that's my happiness."

Leon shook his head slightly. "Let me think… What could I possibly do for you?" He paused for a moment. "My hobbies are… gaming and training. Not exactly the most exciting things, huh?"

Laura chuckled softly at his words.

Leon fell quiet, enjoying the cool night air. The moment stretched on until Laura suddenly turned her head, her gaze fixed in one direction.

"What is it?" Leon asked, following her sight.

Ronald was walking toward them, his pace brisk.

"Leon!" Ronald called out as he approached. "It's an emergency. We need to take a flight—tonight."

"A flight? Why?" Laura, startled by Ronald's words, quickly stood, her bag slipping to the ground in her haste. "Does this have something to do with Maylon?"

Ronald nodded. "Yes. His wife… she's in critical condition."

Maylon's wife, who also has the name Laura, had been under medical care for quite a while. That night, however, urgent news broke about her condition worsening.

Without delay, Leon, Ronald, Freya, Lily, and Laura all prepared to board a flight that very night.

"Euna and Booyoung are already on their way; they're heading there too," Ronald added.
