Chapter 41 It Begins!!!
Chapter 41 It Begins!!!
This was the first time Hael had seen Captain Aelia scream so loudly in shock.
He couldn't understand what Surgeon Jessica meant by GP09 levels, but judging from Captain Aelia's reaction, it was definitely not good news.
"That could render him less than human. And even if he survives, the pain might twist him half-mad! How can I let my crew member go through that? This wasn't what you told me in the beginning," Captain Aelia said as Jessica sighed.
"The level of danger never reached this point when I reported to you. But just yesterday, the highest member of Orcana Transfusion Labs of Sector H came to check our report on creating the greatest potential Warrior-class cybernetic transfusion.
We had reported to him that it was someone under your command agreed to fuse with it, which he approved based on your reputation.
But he suddenly made extra modifications to the cybernetic transfusion himself. Those minor modifications immediately dropped the success rate from 50% to less than 30%," Jessica explained to Captain Aelia, who showed a look of extra confusion.
"Why would Sir Logan even bother with a simple Warrior-class cybernetic transfusion? A person like him would disdain touching such a level of technology, let alone bother to add his own modifications..." Captain Aelia replied.
"That surprised all of us too. Even though the prototype was truly unique, that is only in the lower sectors. Such level of technology is still garbage to the top three sectors of humanity.
Yet, he made his own modifications, and also with very great seriousness and focus. When we addressed him about the heightened danger level of transfusion, he said some merciless words that go against the code..."
"What did he say?" Captain Aelia asked.
"He said that the piece of technology would be the greatest benefit to whoever survives its transplantation. And if they couldn't survive it, then their death was worth it, and the transplantation should be destroyed along with them..."
"What does that even mean?" Captain Aelia asked.
"It means that while Sir Logan's modifications greatly enhance the cybernetic transfusion, he doesn't want it's successful transplantation. Or sad to say, he doesn't want people from our lower sector to gain such a level of power."
"Tch, higher-life bastards..."
Suddenly, Jessica turned her head to Hael, who pretended to be bored, acting as if he hadn't heard a word of their conversation.
"If I were you, Aelia, I wouldn't let my crew member do this. It's simply too dangerous. But if he truly survives it, then there will be another monster from Sector H—an absolute monster, one born for war, unlike us," she said, causing Captain Aelia's eyes to flash with curiosity.
"What do you mean by that?" Captain Aelia asked.
"That transplant above our heads, Aelia, has touched the line of forbidden cyber technology with Sir Logan's modifications. It was what he probably realized too, but failed to quickly stop and instead of ruining his work, he had simply modified to a level where he believed none for our sector would be able to survive the transplant.
It's also beyond our own fusions. Gaining such power as one of your crew members, there would be massive benefits, not just for you but for him as well."
"Is this right?" Captain Aelia asked, her voice skeptical.
Jessica's eyes flashed with seriousness and a hint of scientific madness. "It's time someone bridged the gap between the higher-life humans and lower-life humans. Who better than a crew member of someone who almost succeeded in bridging the gap?
Such a level of power... If the results aren't death itself, then even I would go for it, Aelia," she said with conviction.
The elevator opened with a ding, revealing a large door with words written at the top:
**Prodigy Level Cybernetic Transfusion Room**.
---
The room was a massive cylindrical glass object filled to the brim with green liquids that bubbled with strange steams.
Gigantic metallic pipes, each were tightly connected to a coffin-like glass where a strange figure was currently floating. He wore no clothes at all, leaving him fully naked, with a large breathing mask attached to the lower half of his face, it's sources from outside the glass.
Behind his head was another gigantic pipe nailed directly to his skull, and other parts of his body had wires that dug into his skin.
He stood upright in the glass coffin with tightly shut eyes, as if dead, yet his slowly rising and falling chest indicated he was merely in a deep slumber.
Hovering before the glass coffin were over ten robotic arms, each holding various tools. Around the lab were seven scientists clothed in white robes, each on their respective tablets and computers, rapidly typing away with extreme focus.
Also present among the entities in the lab were two familiar figures, Captain Aelia and Surgeon Jessica, who both looked at the floating body in the glass.
"His entire bodily cells have been made to descend into a half-death slumbering state. The transplantation will begin soon, so please leave, Aelia. He will be fine," Jessica reassured her, for the fourth time now.
She had refused for four times already claiming she would leave when the real operation begins, yet she was still here.
But nowz the real true transplantation was beginning and they couldn't afford someone who had a chance of making emotional decisions be present in the room with them.
That would be fatal!
"You promised me you'd do all you can. So please, Jessica..." Captain Aelia said, her normally confident tone wavering a little, causing an eyebrow raise from Surgeon Jessica.
"I promise, Aelia. I promise," Jessica said, repeating it twice with a confident tone as Captain Aelia moved away from the lab.
The various surgeons moved closer toward the glass coffin where Hael's slumbering body was kept. With over three holographic displays showing every state of Hael's body, the scientists began preparing for the procedure.
"Let the Voidcrusher Warrior Class Cybernetic Prototype Transplant begin!" Surgeon Jessica announced.
