Chapter 16: So much respect...?
Chapter 16: So much respect...?
A day passed peacefully.
Harry had checked his mom and Aoi with the scope and found that it was just as he expected. They utterly adored him.
Harry was sitting in the unimpressive throne room thinking about what he should do. He needed a source of income to develop Lyria.
He needed the people of Lyria to atleast not hate him, let alone trust him.
He was thinking carefully about how to proceed when footsteps echoed through the silent corridor, and Hamilton came in and bowed with respect.
"Your Majesty, John has come to visit you. Should I let him in?"
Hamilton was baffled due to John's behavior once again. He came along with a woman and another man and waited outside the castle extremely respectful, as if he had come to visit someone who was extremely powerful.
Don't get the old man wrong. It was not like he wanted John to be disrespectful and trash the castle, it was just that he was confused.
Even if John should show respect, there was no need for such extremity right?
I mean, the young king had no guards or knights so John could come in freely anyway. He was sure that the king would grant an audience to him.
The king had to, more like. John was highly regarded in Lyria. After all, he was the leader of one of the two major groups prevalent in Lyria.
The farmers would support him no matter what he said. Well, unless what he said was so stupid that even fools would not trust him or do what he said.
And that was exactly what happened yesterday, when he went to convince the farmers to farm again.
----------------------------
John called for a gathering of all the farmers, and all of them did gather as he had requested.
The farmers were slightly baffled. What would John talk about? Would he talk about the hardship of hunting, and an alternative solution for it?
After all, a few people began to risk encountering the strong beasts roaming the forests surrounding the roads to the nearby towns, all to get some food from the other town.
This method was extremely dangerous. If they did encounter a strong beast, they would definitely be killed brutally.
But if you were lucky enough, you could travel the roads safely and get to the other towns. The other towns had plenty of rice for sale, which they could buy or trade for.
This world had monsters that occupied it. They roamed the lands and swimmed the seas. Only the sky was safe from these pests that ate people as food. The monsters were of different levels.
The weakest monsters, which could be killed by a single skilled hunter with some effort and by a group of hunters easily are classified as Level 1 Monsters.
The forest that surrounded Lyria consisted mostly of level one monsters. The monsters level could be identified easily by hunters who had some experience.
Plains surrounded the forest which was around Lyria. After the plains, there was another layer of forest on one half of the plains, while the plains expanded for a long distance on the other half.
The other half which had plains expanding for a long time was considerably safe. There were not many monsters and even if there were some, they were all level 1.
But, the Lyrians who were using the method of buying food in other towns did not prefer to traverse those plains at it would be a long journey.
It can take from two months if you did not sleep at all and travelled 24 by 7, to four months if you travelled leisurely to reach the nearest town from that path.
So, the Lyrians used the route that went through the dangerous forests.
