Chapter 361: Heaven's Spear True Strength, Destroying Termina
"Goodbye," Stark smirked, raised his hand toward the sky, "Angel, throw it," he ordered.
The angelic figure, towering and divine, didn't hesitate. Its voice echoed like a symphony of bells.
[Very well.]
It hadn't even been 3 minutes, but the angel simply followed what Stark said.
The [Crimson Moons Trio] apostle floated above the battlefield.
Their otherworldly forms, twisted and malevolent, radiated confidence.
Their laughter rang out across the square as they mocked Stark's attempt.
"Does this fool think a single attack can harm us?" one sneered.
"Let him try," another hissed. "We're invincible here. Let him use his strength in vain."
But they would soon learn their confidence would be their downfall.
The angel, with deliberate precision, pulled back its arm, ready.
"GO!" Stark shouted.
FWISH!
Its sheer velocity cracked the air, shattering sound itself, and the world trembled under the might of the throw.
To hit all three [Crimson Moons Apostles], as well as the ground, the angel threw the spear with such force that it damaged itself from the impact, ripping apart the sky, changing its color completely.
However, the spear did not descend in a straight path. Attached by an invisible golden thread, the angel swung the spear like a divine whip.
This was the only way it could think of to actually manage to follow the orders of its master: Stark.
"WHAT?!" the apostles roared as the spear curved, moving sideways
Before they could react, the colossal weapon struck, and it was much bigger than them.
BOOM!
The first moon was obliterated, shards scattering like starlight.
BOOM!
The second moon shattered before it could retaliate, its energy dissipating into nothingness.
BOOM!
The third moon, caught mid-escape, met the same fate, its fragments swallowed by the storm of energy.
The explosions were deafening, their shockwaves rippling across Termina.
The three moons, believed to be invincible, were reduced to cosmic dust.
But that didn't mean the apostle was dead.
...
The outside world erupted in cheers and disbelief.
"OH MY GOD, HE DID IT!"
"HE FUCKING DID IT!"
On every screen broadcasting the trial, people jumped to their feet, screaming in celebration and shock.
"Does this mean we win?!"
"Is it over?!"
Inside the square, Lilith stared at the destruction with wide eyes.
"Wow," she whispered. "But... doesn't this mean there's nothing left for us to do?"
"No." Sora's voice was sharp as she snatched the Protection Amulet from her inventory.
[Protection Amulet: Summon a protection that can tank any attack no matter what.]
She activated it, summoning a golden sphere around herself and Lilith.
This was their only chance at survival, and so as the small sphere closed in on them, they prayed that they would be safe.
"Stark's gonna attack the square for sure, look at his eyes," Sora continued.
"???" Lilith did as told, and she was right, Stark's eyes well full of insanity, the crimson vortex still visible in them as he smiled, looking up.
Right as the spear killed all three moons, the divine entity moved again.
And so the angel above, as if confirming their fears, swung the spear one final time.
Its arc widened, and with unrelenting speed, it descended toward the square itself.
"HOLY FUCK!"
"DAMN?!"
"HE'S GOING TO DESTROY EVERYTHING!"
No one could believe that Stark was crazy enough to still want to kill himself even after having the chance to win that trial.
But of course, Stark knew the reason he needed to send that spear was because defeating the moons only meant the real form of the apostle would appear.
Basically, he couldn't afford to let the other two problematic participants live.
FWISH!
As Follower and Clever observed the spear come down, they saw their lives flash before their eyes.
Never could they have ever imagined their lives could end by the hands of a random kid in a deadly trial that owned an impossibly powerful skill.
A skill so powerful even the strongest of classifiers and monsters could get instantly killed by it, and even the [Godless Demon] would probably get hurt too, or so Follower believed.
A skill so powerful... it was going to kill them in one blow, then completely erase them from existence.
"..."
"..."
But no.
This couldn't end like this, not in such a humiliating way.
"I'M THE FUCKING STRONGEST DOMINATION USER," Clever, the old guy, shouted at the top of his lungs, still carrying his cane in his hand and pointing at the descending spear, "YOU... WON'T... KILL... ME!"
He had never truly had the will to live, fighting monsters simply because it was fun, and you could see it even in this trial: he liked being a spectator more than a fighter, enjoying the drama between the others.
But for the first time, Clever felt like he wanted to get through this and live, then teach that kid a lesson he could never forget.
He would display his head in a public space, and describe him as the public enemy number of humanity.
And so...
"ZERO HAND!"
He used his [Immortal] skill, the strongest skill he had.
He had only ever used it once before, and the outside world had NEVER seen him use it either, even though he was pretty famous in his country.
As he activated his skill, the massive statue behind him suddenly turned from a golden color to a shimmering white, like some sort of diamond.
Then, all 100 arms and hands merged together into the [Zero Hand]: a giant hand, the size of the entire [Hollow Tower Square], made out of pure diamond.
[It is said that this hand is indestructible, granting its wielder both enormous attack and defense.]
"HELP ME, ZERO HAND!" Just like Stark, Clever also requested the aid of the golden statue, now the diamond statue, who lowered the diamond hand in front of Clever.
He climbed inside, then it closed on him, leaving absolutely no room or hole to see him through: it was the perfect defense, the thing he thought could allow him to survive this.
After all, the only way to avoid such an attack is by using an Immortal skill.
"Idiots," Clever laughed, and even though it was dark, he still felt secure inside the [Zero Hand].
Now, the only person who was left was Follower, and he simply watched the spear descend, not doing anything.
In contrast to Clever, he had given up his powers in exchange for the perks he had used until now, meaning that he couldn't avoid or dodge: it was over for him.
"Sorry, Lord Godless," he kneeled, truly sad that it was going to end like this, "I was too weak."
Just like that, he gave up, understanding why the panel had informed him that Chosen was the most dangerous person, forcing even Clever to hide and cower in fear.
And now, the spear was only a few meters above the ground, time slowing down as it was about to hit the point of impact.
Lilith and Sora were inside the [Protection Amulet], Clever was in his [Zero Hand] protection and Follower simply gave up.
What about Stark, you might ask?
Well, he was also just staring at the spear, which hovered right above him, and people couldn't believe that this kid was actually ready to die even though he had already killed the apostle.
"FUCK. CHOSEN."
"FUCK. CHOSEN."
Outside the trial, protests began, with the chant "Fuck Chosen" being shouted everywhere.
"At least that filthy bastard's going to die."
"Yeah, but he's taking everyone with him."
"I think Lilith, Sora and Clever are going to survive because of their protections, though, but Follower's done for."
They truly hoped that at least one of the participants survived, because if everyone dies, they had been already informed twice that something terrible and world changing was going to happen.
"See you in hell, assholes," Stark whispered as he smiled, truly making everyone outside, even his family and those of Lana and Sora, hate him.
And then it happened.
BOOM!
The world faded to black as the spear hit the ground, destroying literally everything around it.
And it wasn't just the square: the barrier around the square was shattered, and the explosion took part in the entirety of Termina.
Everything was destroyed, and through the many cameras in the sky, all humanity could do was watch in disbelief: this was the skill that kid had?!
The Orphanage? Gone!
The Manor? Gone!
All the districts and streets? Poof!
Even from their safe locations, those watching had chills go down their spine, the strongest of classifiers sensing the absurdity of the situation.
"DID THEY ALL DIE?!"
"MY GOD, I DIDN'T EXPECT THAT?!"
"FUCK. CHOSEN."
Well, it was safe to say that this trial couldn't go on anymore, since the main stage was destroyed.
And even the [Hollow Tower], which was where the last surviving participant that had killed all the commanders and completed 5 tasks needed to go, crumbled under the sheer force, reduced to nothing.
The world both inside and outside the trial fell silent as the dust settled.
They were all waiting to see who had survived and who didn't.
Because no matter who it was, then they would be the winner of this trial, or at least that is what they believed.
