Chapter 415: Teleporting Tree
Chapter 415: Teleporting Tree
They were all looking at each other, trying to figure out a reason for their recent discovery. This new person, who was in the side of Malice, wasn't given a power from the Abyss.
"And didn't he deny the existence of the darkness in the East?" Lance muttered. "That can only mean"
"Not all of the people in their side are corrupted," Guan Yin finished. She looked at Kusa who was facing Ed.
"Eternal Chaos Strike!" Ed swung his sword and struck down Kusa. The flaming man couldn't defend on time. His eyes could only widen as the purple aura approach him, striking him down to the ground.
The dust formed a cloud of smoke on where he crashed. Ed raised his sword and was about to strike again when Connor appeared in front of him.
"Stop," Connor said, raising both his hands on either side of him. "Let him talk first. There's something different about Kusa."
Ed deactivated his skill, "He's a villain. That's more than enough for me to kill him."
Connor tilted his head to the side, baffled as to why his friens was acting this way. Ed should be the first one to spot these minor differences. The curse in his body, mixed with his own affinity, concocted his high sensitivity to magic.
He was able see past through Sayu's illusions since his body was filled with the mixture. He detected the magic, and his body automatically detected the illusions.
Ed also told them that he knew that there were darkness on all parts of Shyako. The darkness was looming over them like a cloud, but it wasn't eaisly seen by just anyone.
Yet, he couldn't get through the fact that Kusa didn't have any darkness in him. He wasn't corrupted like the others.
"Ed," Connor called out. "You ran out of the Eternal Chaos Curse in your body, haven't you?"
Ed paused momentarily. He looked at his cursed arm and slowly nodded. "I did. But what does that have to do with anything? My body feels so mucg lighter after I used up all of its magic inside my body."
"That's exactly why you're not yourself," Connor said. "It's like you're being light-headed. Your body needed the curse like a fuel. Now that you didn't have any, it's using your own life force to feed."
"That is true," Lance agreed. He was screaming from the ground while conjuring the chains to wrap Kusa with. Guan Yin was the one who was tying the Flames Master with the chains while Kaminari helped her.
"Damn," Ed rubbed his forehead and returned his sword to his scabbard. "Let's go back to them. We need to hide somewhere safe."
"Yeah," Connor smiled. "Let's go."
When Ed and Connor returned to the ground, and Kusa was securely tied on the chains, Emperor Kang proceeded to lead them back into the camp. He said it wouldn't take long for them to get there since they built the camp nearby.
"Wasn't it too risky to build it close to them?" Guan Yin asked. "I know the patrol schedule of Licht's soldiers, and in this border there were tons of them. But I guess, when you go further it would also be risky since he has tens of searching teams."
"That's exactly why we chose to camp right here," Emperor Kang chuckled. "Licht would send hundreds of people to look for us in a far away destination, but he would just send guards in these lands. He wouldn't think to have a search time since he thinks we're cowards."
"Wise," Guan Yin chuckled. "That's probably why he's having a hard time finding you."
"Yeah," Emperor Kang nodded. He suddenly stopped in his tracks and narrowed his eyes while looking at Guan Yin. "You mentioned earlier that you know the patrolling schedule? Why is that?"
Guan Yin was speechless. She thought the emperor knew who she was, but the thought suddenly made her feel pathetic.
She was around the other men in Du Du's Outer General branch for a very long time. She had witnessed injustice all throughout her service for the evil emperor, so she knew that nobody would just blindly trust her. And to think that she's one of those at the top of the ranks, everyone would doubt her loyalty.
She started to get nervous, that it constricted her throat. If she tells the emperor that she was a general, the emperor would surely find guards and lock her up.
When it was taking time for Guan Yin to answer, a boy slid past her and faced Emperor Kang.
"She's from Du Du's army," Kaminari answered. "She left the army that attacked us in Shyako and joined us here. She help kill the enemies, so that should clear things up."
Guan Yin gulped. She looked at Emperor Kang who had a skeptical look on his face, "So, she was a soldier?"
"Yes," Kaminari lied. "She was a low rank officer who follows the master around."
Guan Yin looked at him. Why did she lie for her sake?
"I trust you," Kaminari whispered to Guan Yin, making the woman slowly nod.
"Thank you," she replied. For the first time in her life, her heart skipped a beat. Kaminari was saved by these people, but he lied to them for her sake. The man was selfless enough to do so, just so that it would put the emperor at ease and not let her get in trouble.
"We're here," Emperor Kang said. He stood in front of a large tree that was pure white. The leaves, the trunk, the bark, and even the roots that outgrew the ground were white. It was as if the angels themselves went to this very tree to paint it all white.
Emperor Kang placed his hand on a small dark circle in the tree. He took a deep sigh and the tree sucked him inside in a split second.
"Emperor Kang!" Everyone except for Kaminari yelled.
"Relax," the Lighting Master chuckled. He also placed his hand on the small dark grey cirlce that was on the bark right at his chest level. "It's just how this thing works."
He took a deep breath, and just like what happened to Emperor Kang, the tree sucked him inside. His entire body fit into the tree as it made a fwoop sound, like a sipping sound from a large man's lips.
"What?" Lance pursed his lips. He walked up to the tree while carrying Elliot. While using his left hand to support his friend behind him, he used his right hand to place on the dark circle.
Just like what happened to the two before him, he felt his body getting sucked inside. He wanted to scream as he traveled to a long seemingly endless vortex of pure white. Not long after, the vortex darkened and he was now in a dark vortex.
Just a second later, Lance was thrown out of the vortex. With the heavy weight of Elliot behind him, he stumbled as he got out.
"That was a tough landing," Kaminari chuckled. He offered his hands for Lance to take, which the man gladly took. "Welcome to Blue Haven."
Lance looked up and his eyes widened. Right in front of him was a large city and it was filled with people as if there was no war happening on the other side.
