Chapter 388: Christina
Chapter 388: Christina
The wind blew cold as they passed through their faces. Florencia looked at her friends, Viper and Christina who both had the same sorrowful look on their faces.
It was only silence among the three of them, the constant flapping of the gigantic dragon wings and the waves of the sea were the only sound they were hearing.
"Are you both okay?" Viper couldn't help but ask. "There seems to be a tense atmosphere between you two and this had been happening since we got here."
"I just couldn't believe that Biankka wasn't the last snake that we had to deal with," Florencia suddenly spoke, her voice laced were vemom as she spat the hurtful words that were leaned towards her friend.
Upon hearing this, Christina scoffed and rolled her eyes, "How petty could you be, Flo? I told you it wasn't intentional. How could I control such things?"
The girl with the mirror magic silently mimicked Christina's words. The latter saw this and scoffed even brighter.
"You're so childish, Flo," Christina started to cry. "I didn't mean it, okay?"
While the both were arguing, Hope had a deadpanned look on his face while listening to the two. For some reason, even though Elliot had added Florencia and the others to his party list a long time ago, they couldn't understand him. Hope had to endure listening to their argument while flying as fast as he can back to Avancia.
This was Lance's plan, he split them up into two groups. Him with Elliot, Connor, and Ed were going to infiltrate the city while Hope carries Florencia and Viper back to Avancia to seek help with the navigation of Christina.
"You're making me sound like I'm the bad guy here," Florencia gasped. "Listen here, you dimwitted"
"Shh," Christina raised her finger over to Florencia's lips to silence her.
Florencia pulled the finger down and seethed through her teeth, "Why you little"
"I said shut up," Florencia growled. Hope suddenly stopped flying and suspended himself in the air. He looked around and growled when he felt something boiling underwater.
"What do you think it might be?" Christina asked Hope. "It feels powerful. Can you lower us down so I could clearly see what it is?"
Hope growled in agreement. He had no other choice but to agree and lower them closer to the water. Christina went to the side and placed her hand on the water, closing her eyes and letting her hand glow as she felt everything around them.
"What do you see?" Florencia asked, but Christina ignored her. "Tina? Are you alright?"
Christina suddenly opened her eyes and gassped. Pulling her hand off the water, the bluish black haired girl tapped Hope's neck. "Fly, Hope! It's coming for us!"
Hope roared and immediately flapped his wings in a very powerful force to instantly lift them up. They were midair when there was something boiling in the cold blue waters.
"What the hell?" Viper whispered.
Florencia pulled her shoulders to make the girl look at her, "Tell me what's going on, goddammit!"
"It's coming for us!" Christina yelled. "There's a Deep Sea Wanderer here and it sensed us!"
Just after Florencia had said that, a large blue beast came out of the water. It was like a giant pale blue blob but but had scales all across its body and legs like a crocodile and tail like a giant shark's. It was the size of two castles and a smalls action from it would shake the entire sea.
"That looks terrifying!" Christina gasped when the water reached them. "They were high up in the air, but the water still reached them even when they were in the skies, just barely under the clouds."
"That's the thing Aquarius defeated?" Viper gasped. "How could he possibly do it? And he managed to do it three times, what in the hell?!"
"I thought we established that Aquarius isn't like the rest of us," Christina quirked her brow up. "Just his mana says it all. He's from a higher plane than the rest of us."
"Christina, how do you know all these things?" Viper asked. "And are you sure?"
"I am," Christina said with a smirk. The Deep Sea Wanderer leaped from the waters and reached them with its flight. Hope roared but Christina, gently patted his neck to calm him down. "Let me handle this."
"Christina"
"I'm sorry for acting like a little b*tch," Christina said to her friends. "But it's time to show you why my father hated me with all his guts."
Christina stood and closed her eyes. She walked to the edge of Hope's back and raised both her arms to her side. Before her friends could ask her what was going on, Christina opened her eyes, revealing a pitch black eyes.
Shivers ran through their spines as they watched the darkness in her eyes. There wasn't anything there except for a pure black color. No reflection of the bright blue skies nor the vast blue seas. It was just darkness in there.
"I am touched by darkness," Christina grinned and leaped off, meeting the Deep Sea Wanderer and crashing into the monster.
Not long ago, a lady of a kingdom known for their spice was pregnant. She was a frequent visitor of the seas and a lover of the waters. She would walk on the shores and collect shells to keep as souvenirs when she goes back to her chambers. The vast seas reminded her of the oracle who told her that her child was a strong sun with the rage and tranquility of the sea.
Her husband loved her with all his heart and even sent guards to always protect her when she went for ther daily hobby. The lord admired his wife and loved the child inside her and was willing to do anything for them.
That was until one day, the labor of the lady came. Everyone was ecstatic to meet the young lord. But what greeted them was utter darkness. The lady's stomach was ripped apart as the child crawled out and killed the people in the room.
The lord knew about this and immediately ran to the room. He saw the destruction inside, and the fear on the ones who survived. They all pointed at the child who was now crying in its barely living mother's arms.
"My dear Nymeria," the lord cried and kneeled in front of his wife.
The woman placed a finger on his lips and caressed his cheeks while holding the child with her other hand. The wounf from her belly was large. She knew she wouldn't last long.
"Love her with all your might," Nymeria spoke. "She is your daughter, but I didn't tell you what happened at the sea. I was spoken to by the darkness and cursed me. Our child is a victim of the curse, my love, but please do not hate her. She's nothing but a child."
The lord nodded and took the child from his wife's hands. With her dying stength, Nymeria placed a seal on the child's forehead, "May you grow and find peace in the world. May the darkness that kissed you be suppressed by the love you see."
Nymeria died and the king grew angry. He hated his daughter for killing his one and only love. Not a day goes by that he didn't made her feel worthless. But even so, the daughter grew up and became stronger. She accepted the darkness and secretly trained.
Years later and Christina looked back on her life as she was falling to meet the Deep Sea Wanderer. She chuckled to herself and wrapped her body with the bluish black aura, preparing for impact.
"Abyssal Rain."
