I have Nine Lives

Chapter 113: The power of the rabbit tribe

Chapter 113: The power of the rabbit tribe

While the woodpecker's woman attack was quick and sudden Landers wasn't a vice-general in title only.

With reflexes quicker than lightning he dodged by moving his head to the side barely evading the attack at the last second, then with his free hand, he gave the woman in front of him a punch directly to the stomach knocking the air out of her, her transformation slowly reverted as she clutched her tummy and fell to the ground in front of him.

The wall behind her slowly started to break as spider-web cracks appeared on it after the impact until the wall was destroyed and a hole in the shape of a fist appeared there.

Landers frowned as he looked at the woman who fell in front of him, she started to cough up blood and he realized that he used a little bit too much strength, he still needed to get information from her so she couldn't die on him already!

He took out a red pill from his armor inner pockets then crushed it as he forcefully stuffed it into the woman's now human nose, the woman automatically started to snort it as she breathed then her paling complexion started to return to normal.

Landers splashed some cold water on her from a bucket he found in the house waking her up in the process.

The woman still shook as she looked up at Landers, her expression told him that she would be a tough nut to crack and he didn't know how much time he had...

He was a man that cared about ethics quite a bit but at this point, he realized that he might have to break them to do what he was supposed to.

His left hand slowly inched towards the woman's head, the woman realized that nothing good would happen to her the moment that hand latched on her head and she started to move back only to realize that she already moved with her back to the wall and she couldn't go any further.

She could see Landers's hand come closer and closer to her face and she closed her eyes... she knew that she was done.

**************

Landers left the house, there were some spots of red on his armor but considering the color of the armor and that of blood was almost the same people didn't really realize what happened behind the door of the house.

Landers looked at the sky before muttering:

"She didn't know anything."

He wanted to punch something, all the things that the woman said were speculations that she imparted to her child thinking that he wouldn't say anything.

He had broken his ethic code to get the information needed and he didn't get jack!

Well, there was nothing to do now, no point to cry over spilled milk.

He looked around at the troops as they installed defenses all over the village, he knew that the rabbits would have found out what happened by now but he wasn't sure if they knew who did it, he couldn't really believe the words of the woman.

He watched as the kid that told him everything was ready to get back inside the house after he got bored of playing but Landers waved his hand at him with a smile and said:

"Hey kid why don't you come with me for a little bit."

The kid didn't find Landers's actions suspicious at all, he already talked with him once and he thought of him as a friend after he gave him that candy.

Landers led him to a nearby alleyway but after a few minutes, only Landers was the one that came out of the alleyway.

Felix was chatting with the wisp while dangling around the outer skirts of the village, unlike the village of the foxes this one didn't have a wall so the troops were currently constructing one.

However, things started to become strange as the ground below them started to shake as if an earthquake was happening.

The foundation of the wall that the troops had started shook unsteadily and broke down as a sandcastle would.

Felix felt something wasn't right as he stopped chatting with the wisp who he decided to name Willy.

He jumped on the top of a house as he looked at the ground insistently, the troops also realized that something wasn't right as earthquakes generally didn't last much time but this one was already going on for almost a minute!

Suddenly holes appeared on the ground and body-building rabbits jumped out, they looked around for a few seconds before they started to engage the lion troops with a viciousness that was entirely uncharacteristic to its horned counterpart, Felix actually wondered who were the carnivores between the lions and the rabbits in this situation.

Felix didn't know what to say as he saw the rabbits popping out of the holes, 100, 1000, 10,000, 100,000, 200,000, 300,000.

300,000 bloodthirsty rabbits ready to kill arrived at the village and they unleashed their full battle prowess upon the unsuspecting Lions, even though their ambush was somewhat destroyed by the shaking ground they were twice the amount of the lions and their bodies were superior, their battle techniques were lacking but one swing from one of their meaty arms would send one or two Lions flying regardless of what type of blocking technique they used.

They were all behemoths strength-wise and while the Lions weren't weak they couldn't compare to the beefy rabbits.

But while they lacked strength they were smarter than the rabbits and they would trick them from time to time killing them through some deadly precise attacks.

But as Felix observed he realized that it was quite hard to injure and kill these rabbits, their thick skin gave them a defensive power that even his fortified body could only rival and not be superior.

Even after all the blood, he had absorbed from the altar his body only got as strong as those rabbits, defensively speaking.

This just emphasized how strong these rabbits were, Felix's body was almost at the captain level and these rabbits all had bodies as strong as his!

He jumped down from the top of the house he was on as he started to turn invisible, Manitola and Lindo also appeared as they charged into the troops of rabbits while Landers's aura inflated as he dropped from the sky like a meteor directly in the middle of the rabbit army.

His eyes turned frosty blue as he unleashed a lion roar making the rabbits stop and clutch their heads, while their bodies were strong that didn't apply to their souls as well.

The lion's roar envigorated the allies while it injured the enemies, it was a skill that Landers hadn't used since he was a captain and had to lead his crack troops in sieges.

The rabbits were clutching their heads as the lion troops started to attack fiercely retaliating for the losses they had taken at the beginning of the fight.

Around 10,000 people died from the lion's side and 3,000 from the rabbit's side before Felix, Lindo, Manitola, and Landers interfered.

Lindo jumped from side to side with Manitola on his back dodging every attack that was sent towards him as Manitola used her charm field stunning the opponents around thus giving the army troops enough time to skewer them or decapitate them, their bodies were strong but they still had the normal weaknesses that every living being had, the neck and the heart.

Felix had already gone wild as he activated his combat breathing technique to the maximum, after his strength breathing technique had been maxed out he also started the endurance breathing technique that transformed into runes that appeared on his bones.

His whole body was like a well-oiled killing machine as his fur stood on end, his eyes turned emerald, and streaks of golden lightning started to appear around his body.

The successful combination of the natural energy and the contract with Willy gave him the affinity to control the elements just like Siracha, it was unknown if Siracha's influence over him gave him the lightning affinity or he was just lucky.

A lightning armor started to engulf Felix's small body as he became so fast that not even after images were left behind, headless bodies started to drop to the ground as geysers of blood erupted from the stumps while heads flew into the air.

Felix's nails left dark after-effects into the air as flames engulfed the downed bodies after a few seconds.

Felix let out a roar that made the whole rabbit troops focus on him as they shouted:

"THIS ONE IS DANGEROUS, HE MUST BE THE ENEMIES' GENERAL!"

Landers frowned as his spotlight was stolen by Felix and his aura inflated once more creating a death radius around him whoever stepped in his territory was transformed into a pancake.

But his attacks weren't as flashy as Felix's so even though he also garnered some attention he was considered a smaller threat compared to Felix.

Landers wasn't a vain person so he sighed after he did that, he didn't want to burden Felix with the focus of the whole rabbit army so he decided to go all out!
