I Hate You, Devil!

Chapter 153 First and only

Chapter 153 First and only

As soon as Luo Xiaolei’s class was over, she didn’t delay and hastily left. She was strangely riled up; no, she knew she just couldn’t wait to see him.

After what happened between them last night, Luo Xiaolei could hardly concentrate the whole day. She couldn’t stop thinking about him no matter how much she scolded herself. She was utterly distracted and now, here she was, rushing out as if someone was chasing her.

When she finally spotted that familiar black car, her face instantly brightened and she immediately ran towards it. Once she entered the car, Luo Xiaolei smiled sweetly at him.

"Is everything alright? I mean, you’re not feeling uncomfortable?" she asked and Yu Chen shook his head.

"No worries, Yang Jin is just nearby." He replied, ensuring her that everything was under control.

"Oh, that’s a relief then." She relaxed. After a moment of silence, she stared at Yu Chen. "Uhm... we’ve both been quite busy lately so, how about we continue our Q & A session right now?" she suggested.

"Mm. I’m in."

"Okay, I’ll go first."

"Mm."

"Uhm... okay, here’s the question... do you have any interest in music?" Luo Xiaolei asked. There was a hint of hesitation in her voice, maybe because it was kind of obvious that Yu Chen didn’t seem to have any interest in music at all. She had never seen him listen to any music the entire time she spent living with him. There was not a single radio or even speakers inside his house. But then, the presence of a piano inside a particular room in his house made her think that maybe, just maybe, he might be somewhat interested, even if it was only a little bit. She wasn’t sure so the only thing she could do was ask him directly.

"I mean... do you at least listen to music, sometimes?" she added, curious.

Gu Wei who was sitting in front kept glancing at his boss through the rearview mirror. His eyes were sharp and focused as he waited for his boss’ reply.

"Mm, I’m interested." Yu Chen said and Gu Wei almost rolled his eyes. ’Boss! You’re such a LIAR!! God knows how you dislike music in general. You even called it unnecessary noise! And Miss, don’t believe him! That big boss of ours views music as a distraction. That’s why we, his bodyguards, are not even allowed to play any music while we’re with him!’ he yelled inside his head.

But then, since Luo Xiaolei couldn’t hear his silent rants, she gasped in surprise.

"Really?!" she exclaimed, looking quite pleased. When Yu Chen nodded, her expression became even livelier.

"Wow! That’s really great to know! Then, do you have a favorite song? Or a favorite singer?" she asked again, excitedly. She even forgot that Yu Chen once told her that he didn’t have any sort of favorites before and that his only current favorites were created from the last time she asked, which was just the day before yesterday. These were currently a sunflower, his panda outfit and the color white.

"Mm. I have." For the second time around, Gu Wei rolled his eyes again while Luo Xiaolei’s eyes sparkled.

"Who?" she curiously asked and without any hesitation, Yu Chen uttered his answer.

"Little Secret."

What followed Yu Chen’s answer were coughs from both Luo Xiaolei and Gu Wei. ’My goodness, boss!! I give up!!’ Gu Wei shrunk in his seat while Luo Xiaolei struggled to stop herself from coughing.

Gladly, she was able to quickly stop by clearing her throat before she returned her gaze at him.

Luo Xiaolei: "Oh, I see... that’s really unexpected. Uhm... how about your favorite song?"

Yu Chen: ". . ."

For some reason, Yu Chen was suddenly silent. Gu Wei glanced at him again through the rear view mirror just to see his boss glancing back at him as well. ’Now what, boss?!! You’re exposed this time! You don’t listen to any songs so how could you even have a title in mind? And you didn’t ask me the title of Xiao Mimi’s song before; the first song and only song you voluntarily listened and paid attention to!!’

Seeing that Yu Chen wasn’t answering, Luo Xiaolei was about to speak when...

"Little Secret’s latest song." He suddenly replied and once again, Luo Xiaolei as well as Gu Wei choked.

Luo Xiaolei and Gu Wei: "Cough, cough, cough."

When the two finally settled down, the car was silent again.

"I... I see. So you like ballad songs, huh?" Luo Xiaolei forced herself to speak to break the awkward silence. But then, the man’s response seemed to have made something worse.

"Mm. I like her and her latest song."

Luo Xiaolei: ". . ."

Gu Wei: ". . .!"’What the hell boss! Are you seriously confessing to someone in front of your fiancée?!! Are you trying to make me puke blood here?!!!’

At the very least, Yu Chen’s answer this time didn’t choke Luo Xiaolei – it stunned her to the core causing her system to stop responding.

Coincidentally, at that very moment, they finally arrived at their destination so Guan Ye finally spoke. "We’re here."

His voice managed to turn Luo Xiaolei’s system back to life again. "Oh," was all she could say before she hastily climbed out of the car.

Gu Wei was already outside so the moment she stepped out, the man leaned in on her and whisper something in her ear.

"Miss, please don’t misunderstand what the boss just said. The ’like’ he was talking about was the kind of like between a fan and his idol. I’m sure you know what I mean, right?" Gu Wei spoke way too fast but Luo Xiaolei understood every word he said and what he was trying to say. She could see the worry on his face and somehow, what he said amused her.

"Of course. I truly understand." She grinned at him before she walked towards Yu Chen and held his hand as she led him towards the entrance.
