"I am nullifying the power of the trickster god divine energy now, so don't fret. You have to slowly adapt and you might become the god yourself."

"The heavenly realms are vast and even the oldest gods sometimes get bewildered by all the stuff that happens here. The stories of the familiars devouring up the gods or mutating the divine energy for themselves is... not that unique nor special... Even humans are related to their origins, even if it might be only 1%."

The death god let out a faint smile, knowing that Kyoya might be not liking the fact of turning into the trickster god. His current disposition was not that of the mischievous bastard who likes to see other people lamenting and wailing after their loss.

Regardless of that, this had to be said.

Because if Kyoya can turn into the trickster god due to his 'system' born out from the summoning circle, then because of Xaya being the summoner, Kyoya also has the possibility of going for the death god's seat.

And that is something Rhest couldn't possibly allow.

However, unlike Kyoya, Xaya exactly knows how much time had passed and she knows her work well. If a lot of time passed and Kyoya still would be at work, then she would suspect something. It all would lead up to her finding that Rhest had made a move.

Xaya is a soft spot in Rhest's life though he himself not shows it at all.

She is truly like a daughter.

So instead of trying to get rid of Kyoya or going against Xaya's wishes, Rhest just went for the quest route. The husband's system had been explained by Xaya's memories more or less.

[The Sixth Death God's quest - Work outside the death castle!
