Chapter 111 Extracting A Potential High Value Item
August sat at his desk, staring at the completed paperwork spread across the surface. The official documents confirming his payment and ownership of the rented space gave him a sense of pride, yet the notification on his smartphone showing a 60,000-dollar debit tempered the feeling with a hint of anxiety.
"All worth it," he muttered to himself, though the bittersweet feeling lingered.
He leaned back in his chair, his mind already visualizing the space's potential. He saw a cozy, sophisticated lounge where players could gather to trade and sell their game items retrieved to reality.
His vision included a display area lined with shelves and pedestals showcasing his own extracted items for sale—some with rare, glowing auras to emphasize their value. The most expensive items would be in a more secure, elaborate section, drawing in clients looking for exclusivity.
"I just need the right interior designer," August voiced with a thoughtful tone.
His mind flicked to his inventory. There were so many items he had plans to extract and display, but then he remembered something. He had never tried extracting a particular item before that could have a high market value despite being a very ordinary and easy to acquire in-game item. Could it work?
The thought intrigued him, but he decided to shelve it for later. His mind wandered back to his newfound abilities. Dash had worked in the real world but Lightning Bolt was a whole different case.
It was a magical ability and yet it still worked. He couldn't help but wonder—where was the mana coming from? There was no mana in the real world, so was the system drawing it from the game somehow? The question plagued his mind.
"How does this even work?" he whispered, lost in thought.
Suddenly, Sophia's voice rang out from the kitchen.
"Ow!"
August bolted from his seat and rushed to the kitchen, where Sophia was clutching her hand. A small stream of blood was seeping out from a cut on her finger while a kitchen knife lay on the counter.
"Are you okay?" August's voice was filled with concern as he gently took her hand to inspect the wound.
"It's fine, just a flesh wound," Sophia said with a small laugh, though her wince betrayed the pain.
August stared at the blood and frowned. An idea sparked in his mind, and he summoned his inventory interface right then and there.

August's eyes zeroed in on the Health Potions... The same item he thought about earlier that he had never tried to extract.
He touched one and the system reacted immediately.
---
[Would You Like To Extract Health Potion?]
[ Yes ] × [ No ]
---
He tapped 'Yes' without hesitation. A glowing green orb materialized above his palm, swirling with light before solidifying into a glass vial filled with a sparkling, emerald-green liquid.

[Item Extracted: Health Potion]

Sophia blinked, utterly dumbfounded. "What is that? Another one of your tricks?"
"Just drink it," August said while handing her the potion. "Trust me."
Sophia eyed the vial skeptically but complied, uncorking it and taking a hesitant sip. The moment the liquid touched her tongue, warmth spread through her body. The pain in her finger faded, and they both watched in astonishment as the wound on her hand began to close before their eyes, leaving no trace of the injury.
"How—what just happened?" Sophia asked, holding up her fully healed hand.
"That's what I was curious about," August voiced with a grin, though his own amazement was evident. "Guess I've been sitting on a goldmine of possibilities."
"This is insane," Sophia stated, still staring at her hand in disbelief. "What was that? It looked like one of those game items..."
"Yup," August confirmed before pocketing the empty vial. "And now we know it works on injuries in real life too."
Sophia shook her head as a mixture of awe and disbelief appeared on her face. "You're not just playing a game anymore, are you? This is something else entirely."
"Something else entirely," August echoed with a smirk.
What else could he extract that he hadn't given much thought to? What limits could he push?
Sophia's laughter broke his train of thought. "Well, big brother, if you're going to keep pulling miracles out at least make sure I'm your number one customer!"
"You've got it," August replied with a smirk. But as he looked down at his hands, his thoughts turned serious again. He had unlocked a whole new realm of possibilities, but it also came with risks.
What would people do when they found out they could purchase something that beat modern medicine?
A grin suddenly appeared on his face as he straightened up with a look of confidence.
'Who cares what they think? I have the power to protect myself and Sophia now... I can be a risk taker again haha!'
...
...
Later in the night, August found himself wandering through the bustling streets of Tagharium in Enders Light.
He currently had the Ogre Tusk activated as he made his way through. The item had proven to be invaluable, transforming his features into that of an Ogre and concealing his identity as Aleman.
He listened as snippets of conversations filtered through the crowd.
"Did you hear? The Phoenix Celestial Guild cleared the Swordking Dungeon!"
"They must've gotten the Fruit of Sin. It's worth millions if retrieved to reality!"
"Man, I can't believe Aleman's name was in another world announcement. Who even is he? He just popped up out of nowhere."
August smirked under his Ogre visage, appreciating the anonymity the tusk provided. Too bad it could only last three hours.
He leaned against a dimly lit wall in the market district, summoning his player interface. It was time to dig deeper into Tier Two qualifications.
---
[Player Interface – Skills Menu]
[Tier Two Qualifications Test: Assassin/Mage]
Attempts Remaining: 3
Description: Tier Two Skills/Magic represent a leap in power and complexity. To qualify, a player must exhibit mastery of at least five abilities in their chosen class. The test includes physical challenges, combat trials, and mental endurance tasks. WARNING: Failure thrice will permanently lock your progression at Tier One.
---
The gravity of the situation sank in. Three chances. If I fail even once, the pressure will skyrocket. August clenched his fists. He couldn't afford to fail—not even once.
"I have to be ready. I need to polish my skills first," August murmured to himself. He closed the interface and resolved to dedicate the next few days to intense training.
---
For hours, August practiced. Using the abilities he had unlocked, he honed the synergy between his assassin skills and mage spells.
He drilled combinations of Dash into Hidden Strike, followed by Lightning Bolt. He practiced Ethereal Storm with precise timing and execution, increasing the level of his spells and skills.

[Player Notification]
[ Ogre Tusk Duration Remaining: 1 Hour ]

The notification reminded him of something he'd been neglecting in real life: his appearance. The scarf he used to obscure his face wasn't sustainable. The risks were growing.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
'What happens if someone catches a picture of me or recognizes me in public?'
"I need something more secure," August muttered while pacing the area. A mental image of the Crimson Doomblade wielder from the Swordking Dungeon flashed in his mind.
"I need a helmet but Something that covers my face completely. Something unique… something that screams 'game world.'"
With that, August made up his mind. He headed for the Teleportation Hub on the outskirts of Tagharium.
---
The Teleportation Hub was a large structure at the edge of the city, bustling with players arriving from or leaving for different parts of the game world. Massive stone arches supported glowing blue portals that thrummed with energy. Each portal shimmered with the name of a destination above it, written in a glowing script.
