Chapter 158
Chapter 158
Sevrino could not help but sigh to himself as he looked at the human and Troll who had come uninvited. He thought highly of the fact that they had made it this far. Intruding into the fourth realm was a challenging task in itself.
It was clear that they possessed a considerable level of skills. However, Sevrino knew that strong individuals could get him into bigger trouble than weak ones.
‘How absurd it is to think that you could kill Sayr…’
If Lee Shin had mentioned a special escape method instead of spouting such nonsense, Sevrino might have pretended to believe him.
‘Tsk, tsk. Since you sought after Sayr’s treasure, Sayr won't spare you.’
Sevrino thought that with their potential, they could have reached the higher floors. However, their recklessness would throw them into the abyss of hell. Sevrino had seen countless individuals like them. Although Sevrino did not know their purpose for seeking him, it no longer mattered now that they were here.
‘Sayr already knew that you guys would come…’
Sevrino wanted to say it plainly, but he could not risk being heard by Sayr. The reason he was here in this place, with his attendant, was because of Sayr’s command. He already knew that someone would intrude, and that was why he had Sevrino evacuated to this place. Therefore, it was obvious that Sayr's eyes would be here.
"You won't be able to defeat Sayr," said Sevrino.
"Are you worried for me?” Lee Shin asked.
Although Lee Shin’s words struck a chord with him, Sevrino replied without batting an eyelid.
“Why should I worry for you guys? Do you think you guys are the first ones to attempt this?"
"Yes, we would be the first,” Lee Shin replied.
"...Stop talking nonsense," Sevrino, frowning at the answer that was not what he was looking for, opened his eyes wide at the intense aura he felt at that moment.
His assistant, the Goblin, who sat next to him, was trembling and about to pass out.
Woong—
The next moment, a portal appeared on the wall, and a man with blond hair walked out. His hair fluttered.
"You've come," said the man.
The man had large wings with feathers which reminded Lee Shin of an eagle. He was fit and quite handsome, which did not make him look like a devil at first glance.
“Mr. S-Sayr…” Sevrino muttered with nervousness.
As soon as Sayr appeared, Sevrino could not look up. He barely managed to calm down his pounding heart.
"Yes, my precious slave, Sevrino. Who has been tormenting you like this?" Sayr asked Sevrino.
Sayr was calm, arrogant, and seemed relaxed. Sayr’s deep voice made Sevrino’s heart pound like crazy once again.
"Well… Well, n-no one. No one tormented me, sir,” Sevrino replied with a shaky voice.
Sayr frowned and cast a spell on him. The black demon power turned into a thin barrier and locked Sevrino up.
‘Is this Sayr’s unique ability?’
"Keugh... Uh..." Sevrino groaned in pain.
"You won't die. I'm just trying to protect you from these thieves, so don't worry. But you will be punished for lying,” said Sayr with a bitter smile.
The demon power that Sayr shot hit the Goblin, slamming him against the wall.
"Ah...?No...!" Sevrino screamed in agony, looking at the Goblin, who seemed like he was about to die.
The Goblin remained motionless.
"Can you hear me?" Lee Shin asked, looking straight at Sevrino, completely ignoring Sayr, who was standing in between.
Sevrino also looked straight at Lee Shin.
"Oh, were you asking me what I said?” Lee Shin asked.
Lee Shin acted as if he was talking to himself, and Sevrino was taken aback as he suddenly blurted out those random words. For the first time, Sayr frowned at Lee Shin.
“Yes, I will be the first one to slam Sayr to the ground before your eyes,” said Lee Shin, looking at Sevrino.
As soon as he said that, time slowed down for Lee Shin, and black mana wrapped around Martyr, which had been drawn out.
[Divine Realm Breaking Force]
The transcendental class energy that filled the space pressed down on Sayr’s divine class energy.
"No way...!" Sayr started to panic as a portion of his divinity class disappeared in an instant. It was the first time he experienced such an effect.
‘I’ll kill you in one strike.’
Lee Shin had to deliver at least one critical blow, while Sayr had not revealed his true form yet. The black mana and divine power that flowed over Martyr, which seemed impossible to harmonize at first, intertwined with each other and resonated.
[Divine Death Strike]
As the black mana and divine power fused, a purple sword aura was generated, distorting the surrounding space as it flew. Sayr, sensing the danger, hastily gathered his mana, but it was futile.
‘The Divine Death Strike is a strike created to kill devils. The moment the strike hits, the demon power disappears.’
It was a skill that Lee Shin developed after vaguely witnessing the end of a speck of Transcendence on the 30th floor. By intertwining with the death aura of black mana, Martyr’s killing power and ability to destroy demons were amplified.
Since Martyr was a sword, this skill took the form of a sword strike; but in reality, it was a skill filled with the mysteries of magic. If Lee Shin did not possess the skill Chaos, he would never be able to accomplish this, no matter how talented he was.
The purple strike unleashed by Martyr cut off Sayr’s right arm and leg and then disappeared.
"Kuh…!" Sayr groaned in pain.
Sayr, who had lost his balance, slammed into the ground, bleeding like crazy. Sevrino, unable to believe what he saw, looked to Lee Shin, trembling in amazement.
‘This is crazy…’
The words Sevrino had thought were mere bravado from a human turned out to be grounded confidence. He could not believe what was going on even though he saw it unfold with his own eyes.
Sayr, in particular, hated to be seen when he looked disheveled. Therefore, it was far beyond his imagination to see Sayr, who possessed such unbelievable power, with his face smashed into the ground.
Besides, Sayr was a Great Devil who sat on one of the 72 thrones of the Demon World. Yet a mere human brought Sayr down in an instant.
Boom—!
Thud.
"Ugh!" Sevrino groaned.
The barrier that surrounded Sevrino disappeared, and Sevrino dropped to the ground. The throbbing pain disappeared as soon as he saw Sayr slammed into the ground. For the first time, Sevrino felt he could finally be free from Sayr. He started cheering for Lee Shin.
"He's insane..." Shakhan muttered, looking at Lee Shin.
Shakhan, who had been on guard, ready to respond to Sayr’s attack at any moment, looked at Lee Shin with admiration. Lee Shin was, after all, a human recognized by the God of Death. He was able to turn a Great Devil into a cripple in an instant. Shakhan was proud that he had acknowledged such a human.
"You arrogant bastard...!" Demon power roared within Sayr’s body.
Once again, a horse with silver fur appeared from a portal that formed in the space and tried to mount Sayr on its back.
"No way," Lee Shin muttered when he saw the horse trying to take Sayr.
A black thunderbolt appeared from Lee Shin’s fingers and shot toward the silver horse. At the same time, Sayr’s demon power also shot out in an attempt to block Lee Shin’s attack, but Shakhan quickly took out one of the fangs and shattered it.
"Thorn of Desire!" Shakhan cast a spell.
Red thorns sprang out around Sayr, absorbed the demon power and blocked the way ahead of Sayr. In the meantime, Lee Shin’s black thunderbolt turned Sayr’s silver horse into ashes.
"Krahahah!" Sayr roared.
Sayr’s body writhed as he tried to regenerate his severed limbs using demon power; but Martyr, which was wrapped in black mana, slit Sayr’s throat.
Swoosh—
Thump.
Sayr’s head rolled away and stopped in front of Sevrino.
"Hyiik!" Startled by the sight, Sevrino quickly stepped back.
"Is it over?" Shakhan asked Lee Shin to confirm Sayr’s death.
"Yes," Lee Shin replied.
Lee Shin checked the system messages that appeared in the air.

There was a series of extortions of Divinity Class. Previously, there was an incident where Lee Shin stole the stats from his opponent twice in a row due to the effect of the Necklace of the Guardian of the Forest. However, Lee Shin found it very lucky that it occurred with the extortion of the Divinity Class this time.
‘Could it be because of the stat Luck?’
Lee Shin thought this was an unexpected harvest.

* If all conditions are met, you will become an Adversary.
As a flood of messages popped up in front of Lee Shin, a smile appeared on his face. He had finally acquired Transcendence.
‘With this, I can almost say I've reached the pinnacle of my previous life.’
During his previous life, Lee Shin could not acquire the title Adversary, but now, things were different. Although the conditions were extremely tough, it did not seem impossible.
‘With the rise in my transcendental class, my Transcendence became 5.’
Thanks to the carelessness of Sayr, a Great Devil, things were much easier for Lee Shin to deal with. If Sayr had appeared in his true form or if he had elevated his combat senses, even if Lee Shin’s Divine Realm Breaking Force was unleashed, he might not have been able to deliver a fatal blow.
A moment ago, Lee Shin poured out all his transcendental class energy, created an opportunity, and killed the guy. Thanks to that, the Transcendence shot up, from zero to five. With this stat, Lee Shin could probably kill at least one apostle.
"Mr. Sevrino," Lee Shin called out.
"Yes," Sevrino replied.
Until a little while ago, astonishment and confusion were clearly visible on Sevrino’s face, but at Lee Shin’s call, he immediately suppressed all those emotions and maintained his composure.
"We don't have much time, so if you want to escape safely from here, you will need to make a contract with me," Lee Shin said.
At those words, Sevrino’s voice dropped.
"What is your name?" Sevrino asked, looking at Lee Shin.
"It’s Lee Shin," Lee Shin introduced himself.
"Mr. Lee Shin, at this point, you are not much different from Sayr in my eyes. You came to me out of the blue, killed Sayr, and now you say you are going to take me away. So, how can I trust you and decide to follow you?” Sevrino asked.
Those were valid concerns. No matter how harshly Sayr had tormented him, Sevrino could not just trust someone he just met. Originally, Lee Shin wanted to convince him slowly, but the situation did not allow for it.
Since Sayr was dead, soon there would be repercussions, and the devils in this land who noticed it would try to fight back. Moreover, there were also apostles outside who could burst in at any moment. Since the safety of Sevrino was Lee Shin’s priority, he had no choice but to push the buttons to provoke him.
"If you choose to follow me, I will spare your daughter’s life,” Lee Shin said.
After hearing Lee Shin’s words, Sevrino’s eyes wavered. His cheeks trembled and his pale face quickly turned red.
"How... How do you... know about my daughter?" It was clear from his voice that Sevrino was suppressing his anger.
Lee Shin understood. The mention of his daughter and the provocation to only save his daughter if Sevrino followed him—were enough to fuel Sevrino’s anger. His daughter had been raped and killed by raiders from another dimension in the past. Sevrino had roamed through different dimensions without even knowing where her body lay.
Lee Shin knew where her body was and why she had ended up like that. However, there was no time for him to explain such things now. Lee Shin only thought about convincing Sevrino to follow him, because he would be able to calm his anger eventually.
"I know where your daughter Isabelle's body is. And I have…” Lee Shin stopped talking for a second.
Swoosh—!
After swinging Martyr fiercely in the air to get the demon’s blood off, the white sword aura struck down on the Goblin.
"I have the life-giving sword, Martyr,” said Lee Shin.
Sevrino’s bloodshot eyes turned toward his assistant, the Goblin. The muscles of the Goblin, which were previously motionless, began to writhe, and his eyes opened.
"Sarzago!" Sevrino cried out.
"Ah... Mr. Sevrino?" Sarzago looked confused.
Sevrino embraced the Goblin with tears of joy streaming down his face after hearing his voice.
"Well, so what are you going to do?” Lee Shin asked Sevrino.
It was a touching scene, but Lee Shin simply did not have enough time to wait for them. When Sevrino heard Lee Shin’s voice, he hesitated for a second but soon got up.
"If what you’re saying is true... I will... make the contract," said Sevrino.
"Very well. As proof that I'm not lying, I will put all my mana on the line," Lee Shin replied in a confident voice.
Crack—! Baaam!
Just as the two of them were about to reach an agreement, they could hear the sound of a building collapsing from above.
