Chapter 47: [47] Is this the attitude you use to treat God? _1

Tang Feng had not left Qianda Plaza long before he returned.

However, the woman by his side had already been swapped out.

By this time, the event outside the department store had ended, and the crowd had long since dispersed.

He and Jiang Zi walked side by side into the department store.

Inside Qianda Department Store, the lights still shone brightly, and shoppers were coming and going incessantly.

Their arrival immediately drew the eyes of many onlookers.

Of course, Jiang Zi attracted attention because of her beauty.

As for Tang Feng, it was because of his bizarre attire.

Although the two outfits Jiang Zi had found for him were quite neutral, a closer look would reveal they were women’s clothing.

A stunning woman and a man in women’s clothing, this uncanny duo were bound to draw stares from the crowd.

Jiang Zi was originally worried that Tang Feng would feel embarrassed.

But she had clearly underestimated the thickness of his skin.

Mr. Tang did not feel the slightest bit uncomfortable because of his attire, on the contrary, he confidently strode into the department store with a spring in his step.

When encountering people who stared at him, he even took the initiative to greet them.

This immediately gave people the illusion, “Am I just being too narrow-minded?”

Jiang Zi followed closely behind him, her heart stirring with waves of emotion.

She remembered back when they were in school, Tang Feng was a slightly self-conscious guy, blushing for half a day just from speaking to girls.

After not seeing him for five years, he seemed like a completely different person.

It appears that time can indeed thoroughly change a person!

This made her even more curious, what exactly had happened to him over these last five years?

The two of them strolled through the department store as if no one else were present.

The stores that could set up shop in Qianda Department Store were almost all high-end luxury brands.

Although Jiang Zi lived close to this place, this was her first visit.

Given her consumption views, she obviously wouldn’t shop at such a place.

She truly could not understand what those women wearing clothes worth tens of thousands and carrying handbags costing over a hundred thousand were thinking.

“Tang Feng, the clothes here are very expensive. I should take you to a nearby affordable clothing store instead, where the clothes are both cheap and good-looking,” she hesitated several times before finally not being able to withhold her advice.

“No problem, I can afford it,” Tang Feng confidently patted his chest.

What kind of joke is that? He had just randomly picked up a can from a trash heap that was worth a hundred thousand, okay?

A few pieces of clothing were not about to scare him off.

But Jiang Zi didn’t think so.

Earlier, she had seen Tang Feng leaving on a shared bicycle, and the clothes he wore were all market stall goods.

Moreover, she had bumped into him by the dumpster earlier.

He said he was just passing by.

But before she arrived, she clearly saw him rummaging through the trash.

Obviously, his financial situation was not very good.

His bringing her to an upscale mall now was probably just to put on airs in front of her, to inflate his ego, perhaps?

She found this behavior incredibly childish.

Even if he was penniless, would she really look down on him?

“Tang Feng…”

She wanted to persuade him further, but Tang Feng already strode ahead into the Givenchy boutique.

She shook her head helplessly and followed him.

When they entered, the female store clerk at the boutique was tidying up personal items, preparing to close for the day.

Upon seeing new customers walk in, the store clerk immediately put on a warm smile, “Sir, you…”

She stopped mid-sentence, her expression suddenly freezing.

She sized up Tang Feng with a peculiar gaze, obviously startled by his attire.

“May I help you with something?” the store clerk quickly amended her approach, eyeing him warily.

“What kind of question is that? Coming to your store means I’m here to buy clothes,” Tang Feng found her question problematic and replied bluntly.

The store clerk rolled her eyes and didn’t bother with him further, dropping her head to busy herself with her own things.

“Excuse me, may I try on this suit?” Tang Feng browsed around the store and finally picked out a white T-shirt priced at 2999.

The store clerk looked up at him briefly and offhandedly responded, “Sorry, we’re out of that size; there isn’t one big enough for you.”

Tang Feng frowned, for he clearly saw the label “XL” on the garment, exactly his size.

“I happen to wear XL. Please get this one down for me to try,” he conveyed his request to the store clerk.

“Do you know better or do I know better? That shirt runs small. You need at least a size XXL,” the store clerk answered impatiently.

Seeing her response, Tang Feng gave up on that shirt and turned his attention to a blue T-shirt, “This one looks nice too, please get this one for me.”

“Sorry, that one is out of stock too,” the clerk replied, not even bothering to lift her head this time as she applied lipstick in the mirror.

Tang Feng’s face grew increasingly grim, and he pointed directly at the ceiling, “What about that one?”

“That’s out of stock too.” The clerk pursed her lips in the mirror, pleased with the lipstick she had just applied.

Tang Feng could no longer suppress his anger and strode over, slamming the counter with a “bang,” “What kind of service attitude is this?”

The store clerk was startled, smearing her lipstick onto her face, and her expression soured, “Are you sick or something? What do you think you’re doing?”

Tang Feng glared at her coldly, “Since I’ve walked into your store, I’m a customer. Customers are god, so is this how you serve god?”

The woman twisted her mouth with a sneer, capping her lipstick and tossing it onto the counter, “If you’re genuinely here to shop, then of course you’re our god. But if you’re here to bother me, sorry, I’m not serving you.”

Tang Feng was amused by her words, “How do you know I’m not here to shop?”

The store clerk scanned him up and down, her disdain unhidden.

“I’ve been in sales for two years if I can’t tell who can afford what, then I really might as well be a dog. You’re more suited for the flea markets under the bridges. Don’t waste our time.”

It must be said, the woman’s words were sharp as knives, hitting right at the heart.

Tang Feng felt a surge of anger rising, struggling to keep it under control.
