Floating Immortal Order

Chapter 141: And So What?

Chapter 141: And So What?

Chapter 141: And So What?

Chu Luo took out one of the ornate storage pouches and placed it on the desk in front of Yu Jia before quietly withdrawing.

After casually putting away the storage pouch, Yu Jia turned and instructed one of the disciples on his left, “Assign these six people to the Mountains based on their talent. The records are in the jade slip. Afterwards, send the jade slips to Directory Hall and Affairs Hall.”

“As you command, Peak Director.”

Unexpectedly, the person who answered to his command was Qin Gang.

After the time it takes an incense stick to burn, Qin Gang finished assigning the people to their respective Mountains according to their talent. Among them, there was an attractive girl who managed to be assigned to the Mingxin Mountain Range.

Seeing Qin Gang making the records in the jade slip, Xu Disheng spoke to Yu Jia who was seated on high. “Peak Director, we will have to ask to be excused now. The Spirit Master is still waiting for me to go back and report to him.”

“Hah?! Hurry, off you go then,” Yu Jia said, repeatedly waving his hand in a dismissive gesture. Upon hearing the words ‘Spirit Master’, he didn’t dare to keep Xu Disheng here.

According to the rules of Cangming Peak, the Secret Realms Envoy had to be present before the affairs hall disciples of Cangming Peak could assign the newly recruited disciples to their respective Mountains and record it in the jade slips.

Yet at this moment, the Secret Realms Envoy, Wei Yuanwei, wasn’t present. However, Yu Jia, Qin Gang, and Xu Disheng completely disregarded this rule, intentionally or otherwise.

Xu Disheng brought Qingxin and Chu Luo out of the great hall. A black and white light flashed as the phantom image of the Yin Yang Diagram slowly appeared around him.

“Young Lord, I am also headed for the Mingxin Mountain Range. If possible, could you please let me tag along?” the attractive girl who was assigned to the Mingxin Mountain Range said hurriedly to Xu Disheng and the others, quickly following them out of the hall.

Chu Luo turned to look at her. They were previously acquainted. She was from the Yun Province Dao Palace, and she was well-loved by the Daoist Lords, to the point that her status was not very far off from a princess of Grand Chu Imperial City.

But then, Chu Luo glanced furtively over at the youth in the black gold-trimmed Daoist robe. Xu Disheng was still sensibly keeping silent, turning a deaf ear to the girl’s shouts.

And sure enough, in the next moment, Xu Disheng activated the Yin Yang Diagram and they flew off. A barrier of light appeared around them as they shot off into the skies, rapidly cutting through the clouds and mist. He showed no signs of stopping for her whatsoever.

… …

The Eighth Mountain Range, Zhuri Mountain Range.

This was the Mountain that was established the latest out of the eight. Despite being the ‘latest’, it had already existed for over 30,000 years now.

40,000 years ago, a Divine Sea stage patriarch of the Shangqing Sacred Sect went to Tianzhu Peak of Buzhou Mountain, where he met with the other Divine Sea stage beings of the Human Realm, who were then appointed as Rank 5 Divine Generals by the House of the Earth God. This earned them the right to go to the Heavenly Court, one of the three Heavens.

But before this Divine Sea stage patriarch left, he left behind many inheritances and treasures. The previous Great Elder of the Cultivation Hall on Refining Heart Mountain, Primordial Lord Zhuri, was at the Primordial Spirit stage at the time. But by relying on heaven-defying luck and unparalleled powers of comprehension and destiny, he managed to comprehend one of the inheritances left behind by that Divine Sea stage patriarch. He broke through to the Clone Avatar stage in one go, which earned him the title of Saint Lord. A new Mountain Range was then established in his name, bringing light to all.

If it weren’t for Saint Lord Zhuri’s previous status as ruler of Cultivation Hall, the strength and amount of resources that the Zhuri Mountain Range received from the Sacred Sect would have been even fewer, and far worse.

The Zhuri Mountain Range had several tens of thousands of Sea of Qi stage disciples, several hundred Dao Foundation stage disciples, and over 200 Peaks, but there were only a scant few Divine Core stage Spirit Masters.

Although the other Mountain Ranges had comparatively less Dao Foundation stage disciples, they were all elite disciples. Compared to the Dao Foundation stage disciples of the Zhuri Mountain Range, even the Deacons, Peak Masters, and other types who simply passed their lives on in a hedonistic manner were much stronger.

The Dao Foundation stage disciples of Zhuri Mountain consisted of the people in the Eight Mountains with the worst temperaments and aptitudes. There were dragons mixed in with the fishes, but it was a common matter for them to scheme and fight against each other.

The rules in this lowest ranked Mountain Range were even crueler than those of the other Mountain Ranges. The Outer Region of the Zhuri Mountain Range was rife with deceit and scheming. If you didn’t exercise utmost caution, it was easy to be screwed over for eternity, with no hope of ever breaking free again.

The branch of the Affairs Hall on Zhuri Mountain was also called Mountain Affairs Peak. There was an endless stream of disciples coming and going. The individual streaks of light coming from wayfaring flying-type Spirit Tools formed a constant, unbroken stream. Compared to the Mountain Affairs Peak of the Mingxin Mountain Range, the traffic here was far busier.

But upon closer inspection, it was possible to see that the looks on the disciples’ faces were rather fretful and impatient, and their cultivation bases couldn’t be considered very good. There were many people who appeared to be the solitary, malicious type, and it could be seen from a mere glance that they weren’t up to any good.

Fu Chao walked out of the Sect Affairs Hall on Mountain Affairs Peak with two other people by his side, a pleased expression on his face. Just now, the three of them managed to secure themselves a spirit fruit retrieval mission. There was a high level of demand for these types of missions that required going to the mortals’ provinces. Not only was there no danger involved, but they could also act heedlessly and enjoy their time outside of the sect.

“Are you Fu Chao?”

A cold and distant voice could be heard.

Fu Chao stared blankly for a moment before turning to Song Borong, who was standing at his side. “Junior Martial Brother Song, did you hear someone calling me just now?”

“I seem to also have heard it.” It wasn’t Song Borong who spoke, but Zhu Rou, who was standing on the other side of Fu Chao. He looked around at the disciples who were coming and going and said, “But where is the person who spoke?”

Song Borong’s expression changed slightly when he lifted his head to look above him. “Senior Martial Brother Fu, look up.”

Fu Chao lifted his head and saw a black and gold-robed youth standing on an expanse of black and white profound light, floating in the air above Mountain Affairs Peak.

“Who are you? Don’t you know that flying is forbidden in Mountain Affairs Peak?” Fu Chao said dubiously, not knowing this person’s identity.

“Are you Fu Chao?” the youth repeated with the same exact cold and distant tone from before.

“Yes, but—”

Before he could even finish his words, a light flashed in the youth’s eyes. The White Lotus Array Flag appeared and immediately suppressed Fu Chao.

Fu Chao’s expression changed dramatically. “A Magic Treasure! And a top-grade one, at that!”

He was immediately put at a loss and momentarily gave up all thoughts of resisting.

“Impudent!” A deafening roar echoed out. In the next moment, a blue smallsword flew out from the Human Affairs Hall at the summit of Mountain Affairs Peak and collided with the White Lotus Flag.

An ear-piercing metallic screech rang out as the two colors clashed and then faded. Invisible ripples spread out from the point of impact. The blue smallsword flew back, while the White Lotus Array Flag quivered as it flew back to Xu Disheng’s side where it hovered unassumingly.

Fu Chao paled. Next to him, Song Borong’s and Zhu Rou’s expressions were changing dramatically, clearly unable to figure out what had just occurred.

A Dao Foundation stage Deacon flew out from Human Affairs Hall on a sword light and appeared before them. He eyed Xu Disheng and said coldly, “ A top-grade Magic Treasure? But no matter what background you have, attacking another disciple within the sect and brazenly violating the rules of the sect is nothing but a sentence to a million deaths!”
