Chapter 475 Blood Bug
"Shit! Crowley!!!" The officers exclaimed in unison.
In their hearts, Shye was already Valenzia's first hero.
Hence, upon seeing him stabbed by the black-furred creature's sharp claws, the two of them panicked.
Meanwhile, the guy who was stabbed, Shye, didn't even have a hint of panic on his face.
It was like nothing could faze him.
Heck, Shye even had a slight smile on his face as he stared at the creature right in its eyes.
He was cleanly struck.
However, he wasn't stabbed that deeply as he managed to grab the creature's arm, preventing its claws from digging deeper into his body.
'Appraisal!'

"Heh, we meet again, you bastard," Shye said with a cold smile.
The creature standing before him had attempted to assassinate him earlier in the area where hundreds of ghouls clung to the ceiling.
Unfortunately, it managed to escape before he could even see what it was.
Now, upon seeing the creature's rank and stats, Shye was sure that the bastard was one of the dungeon's four generals—one of his targets.
It was evidently respected by every creature in the room as all of them momentarily stopped attacking after realizing that the Dark Lycan made its move, not wanting to hinder their general's movements.
However, strong and fast as it was, the black-furred creature was surely inferior to Shye, and now that its arm had been caught, it was in grave danger.
The Dark Lycan also knew that it was in for a world of hurt.
After all, it cleanly felt Shye's raw power in their first encounter.
"Die, Mutt!"
Strangely, though, Shye's "full-powered" diagonal slash attack using both greatswords only resulted in a moderately deep wound.
Even the creature didn't expect to get away with such minimal damage, especially after being caught like that.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
However, it was well aware that it couldn't defeat Shye in a direct confrontation.
Therefore, after commanding the ghouls to sacrifice themselves, the Dark Lycan ordered the (B) ranked creatures to retreat chaotically and regroup in a specific room.
Astonishingly, the ghouls unhesitatingly threw their lives away, ferociously charging at Shye even though it would only result in their deaths.
Shortly after, the Black Gargoyles and the Vampires swiftly got out of the room and retreated in a disorderly manner, fleeing to different pathways as per the Dark Lycan instructed.
As for the black-furred monstrous creature, it was already long gone.
Naturally, Shye had no choice but to deal with the remaining few hundred ghouls.
Hence, by the time he finished the sacrifices off, the storage room was already empty.
"Haaah…Haaah…I actually…Haaaah…Survived…"
Realizing he was now safe, exhaustion finally overcame Shye, causing him to stagger slightly before sitting down to recuperate.
"U-UOOOHHH!!! CROWLEY!!"
"Valenzia is in good hands! Valenzia is finally in good hands!!"
Despite their differences in office rank, Logan and Gavin couldn't resist hugging each other in celebration.
Even Belford wanted to roar in excitement.
Unfortunately, he was the head director of an entire regional department, and he couldn't simply let himself go as he had appearances to keep, especially in front of his subordinates.
However, deep inside, he was utterly relieved.
Shye was indeed the most talented youngster he had ever seen.
Even the four titled adventurers of Valenzia couldn't boast such capabilities when they were Shye's age.
Hence, despite his hard decision to not give Shye any exceptions, Belford had been praying for his success.
Luckily, through sheer willpower and unmatched desire to live, Shye managed to survive the undead army's onslaught, even managing to slaughter two-thirds of their original number.
The job wasn't finished, though.
Shye still had to hunt the four generals and the lord monster.
'For now, I should rest properly…'
After leaving the storage room, Shye set up the Small Camouflage Camp in the corner of another random empty area.
He then retrieved his soft and comfortable sleeping bag and sat on it, pulling out a ready-made seafood meal from the system's inventory—still as hot as when it was first prepared.
Shye's exhausted body growled in protest as the heavenly aroma of cooked lobster meat and scallops assaulted his nostrils, prompting him to eat with gusto the next moment.
Halfway through his meal, Shye suddenly smiled.
'Now then, you black-furred mutt. How about you show me the way later?'
During his first rest, Shye had already planned to track the movements of the monstrous creatures using the "blood bug" he had purchased from the system.
It wasn't really a bug but a mana-powered device that resembled one.
With a single drop of the target's blood, the bug would be able to track the target.
Of course, this was only within a certain range, as the bug wouldn't be able to detect the target if it escaped to another region.
Its maximum effective range would be around a few cities from the user's location.
Thus, tracking someone or something within a dungeon would be easy work for the blood bug.
After a hearty meal, Shye quickly nestled into his sleeping bag, enjoying the warmth of the small campfire inside the camp as he closed his eyes to rest.
Six hours later, Shye was once again full of energy and was ready for another fierce battle.
Using a small vial of blood collected from his sword after moderately wounding the Dark Lycan, Shye dripped a drop of blood onto the blood bug, causing it to twitch a few times before flying off in a specific direction.
'Now then, let's kick some more undead ass, shall we?'
