Eternal Undying Chronicles

Chapter 88 Demons In Human Skin

Akimitsu sat in the lecture venue, struggling to pay attention. The room was dimly lit, the only source of light coming from the projector casting a soft glow on the screen at the front.

Rows of students filled the lecture hall, most of them hunched over their desks, either taking notes or pretending to do so.

The atmosphere was heavy with the dull hum of the lecturer's voice droning on about complex theories. Despite the low lighting, the occasional flicker of a phone screen revealed students sneaking glances at their devices.

Akimitsu was seated between two of his closest friends. To his left was Felix, a chubby blonde with a mischievous glint in his eye, his round face often split into a wide grin. Felix's build was stout, his plump hands constantly fiddling with something—a pen, his phone, or the edge of his notebook.

On Akimitsu's right was Alec, a dark-haired young man of lean build and dark skin, his angular features sharp in the dim light. Alec had a calm demeanor, but his eyes held a certain mischief, always scanning the room for something—or someone—worth his attention.

These two were Akimitsu's partners-in-crime, fellow connoisseurs of all things related to the fairer sex. Felix and Alec were in the middle of one of their usual whispered exchanges, discussing the various merits and flaws of the girls in their class.

Their comments were less than appropriate, filled with the kind of crude humor that would turn the female population against them if overheard.

"Did you see her today?" Felix whispered, a smirk on his face. "That skirt's shorter than last week's. Bet she's trying to get the professor's attention."

Alec chuckled quietly, leaning in closer. "She's probably hoping for an upgrade from her last grade. Too bad she's aiming for someone too old to care, but I could totally care."

Felix snorted. "Yeah, but she's got those legs. Makes you wonder what she'd be willing to do for an A."

"Spread them, that's for sure," Alec replied with a sly grin.

Felix laughed softly. "You think? I heard she was dating some guy in the football team. Maybe she's trying to climb the social ladder."

Alec shrugged, his gaze drifting toward a group of girls near the front.

"Wouldn't be surprised. These types are always looking for the next best thing. Just wait until she sets her sights on someone who actually matters."

"Like you?" Felix teased, raising an eyebrow.

Alec grinned, leaning back in his chair. "Who else? I'm practically a catch. Tall, dark, and handsome—what more could she want?"

Felix rolled his eyes, still smiling. "If you're such a catch, why are you still single?"

"By choice, my friend. By choice," Alec said with a mock-serious tone, then lowered his voice conspiratorially.

"But if she wants to change that, I wouldn't say no."

The two of them continued their hushed conversation, their words filled with the kind of locker-room talk that would make most guys cringe. Normally, Akimitsu would have joined in, offering his own observations or jests, but today he was lost in thought.

Akimitsu's mind kept drifting back to the footage on his phone. He had caught a glimpse of something—or rather, someone—that morning that he couldn't shake from his mind. The young man who had spent the night at Professor Malefica's house was called Alicarde.

His name was somewhat known among the students, primarily because the campus belle, Elizalina, had publicly confessed her love to him.

The confession had sent shockwaves through the student body, leaving many guys seething with jealousy.

Akimitsu didn't know much about Alicarde, other than the fact that he was close friends with the class representative, who was always with him when she wasn't busy.

What stood out to Akimitsu, though, was that Alicarde didn't seem to have any male friends—only women surrounded him.

This had sparked a range of rumors and opinions among the guys on campus, most of them not favorable.

The guys said he was arrogant and standoffish, not saying much and keeping a deadpan expression whenever he was addressed. It was either true, or the guys just wanted another reason to hate him.

Many didn't like him, but Akimitsu had a different reason for his unease. If he had to pinpoint it, it would be the cold intensity of Alicarde's eyes.

There was something about his gaze that felt... unapproachable, as if there was a wall of ice between him and everyone else. Those eyes carried an unsettling depth, making it clear that Alicarde was not someone to be taken lightly.

Akimitsu wasn't sure, but he felt like Alicarde had grown more attractive as time passed. There was a distinct sharpness to his features now that hadn't been as noticeable before, his skin was just too smooth, and it was like he got more handsome and colder.

Maybe it was just in his head, but something about Alicarde seemed to change the more he saw him, like a dark aura slowly intensifying around him.

'That doesn't matter. I still have to be his lackey even if he is the reincarnation of Satan himself. Otherwise, I won't get any bitches,' he thought with a determined expression.

As Akimitsu pondered how best to approach Alicarde, thoughts of potential benefits crossed his mind. If Alicarde had other girls in his life, maybe Akimitsu could find a way to get close to one of them.

The idea of Alicarde sending the ones he didn't want his way brought a smile to Akimitsu's face, and he nodded to himself, feeling as if he had stumbled upon a brilliant plan.

'Yes, he could send the ones he doesn't want my way,' he thought with a sly grin, nodding his head again.

His two friends noticed his absence from their conversation. Felix, not one to let his friends drift off into their thoughts for too long, smacked Akimitsu on the back of his head, bringing him back to reality.

"Hey, where's your head at, man?" Felix whispered, grinning. "You're missing all the fun!"

Alec leaned in, smirking. "Yeah, what's up with you? You're usually the first to crack a joke."

Akimitsu blinked, rubbing the back of his head where Felix had smacked him. "Just thinking... about something important."

Felix raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Oh? Important? Does it involve a chick with huge tits?"

Akimitsu gave a half-smile, not wanting to reveal too much. "Maybe. You'll find out soon enough."

Felix and Alec exchanged glances, both curious but deciding not to press further. Instead, they returned to their hushed banter, while Akimitsu's thoughts continued to revolve around the mysterious Alicarde and the possibilities that lay ahead.

In the end, Akimitsu couldn't help but ask his friends, "So like, guys... what if there was a guy who managed to smash Professor Malefica?"

He decided if there were girls to be had, he would invite his friends into the good life with him.

Felix, the chubby blonde, snorted, "Is he a Lovecraftian Elder God? Because that is a big 'what if.'"

"Hold up, let him cook. I mean, he's just coping," Alec added with a smirk, his dark hair falling over his eyes as he leaned back in his chair.

"No, I mean for real. What if there was a guy who did?" Akimitsu insisted, his voice growing more animated.

"Nah, bro, you're sick in the head," Alec chuckled, shaking his head.Nôv(el)B\\jnn

"Nah, I think he's sick everywhere," Felix whispered, glancing at Akimitsu with a grin.

"No, I mean like a guy our age who actually smashed our goddess professor," Akimitsu pressed on, his voice tinged with desperation.

"Like touched and sucked and... and baby making," Akimitsu whispered with a pained expression.

Felix suddenly stood up, shouting, "That's cap, and you know it!"

"That's never gonna happen!" Alec followed, his voice equally loud as he jumped to his feet.

Their sudden outburst drew the attention of the entire class, including the old professor, who paused his lecture to glare at them. The murmuring of the other students quickly died down.

"Out of my class," the professor commanded, his voice cold and authoritative.

"Yes, sir," they replied in unison, their heads lowering in shame. They were about to leave when the old professor had a change of heart.

The professor sighed, then, in a surprising twist, added, "Hold on a moment. If you share what caused such an outrage with the class, I'll let you stay—if it's at least interesting."

"It's nothing, sir, no big deal," Akimitsu said.

"If it's no big deal, I'll take it as a sign of disregard and give you all a failing grade," the old professor said in a threatening tone.

Their faces somewhat paled at his words.

Felix started to explain, "Actually, professor, Aki here said that—" but Akimitsu quickly covered his mouth, hissing, "Shut the hell up!"

Now intrigued, the professor leaned forward, a slight smirk playing on his lips. "Oh? Now I'm curious. Why don't you tell us what Aki said? I'm sure the whole class is dying to know."

All eyes were now on them, including Alicarde, who was sandwiched between Anne and Elizalina. The room felt even smaller under the weight of everyone's anticipation.

Alec, unable to resist the pressure, caved. "Actually, sir, well... Aki went crazy and said Professor Malefica had a boyfriend... so we obviously had to tell him off."

The old professor raised an eyebrow in surprise. These children really had an ear for gossip. He said nothing, only looking at them.

"Malefica with a boyfriend? That's news to me. Who the hell would date that witch? Although... I can see someone taking the fall due to her ginormous melons... I mean, those things are huge and quite soft too, the millennia spinster with boyfriend."

A voice echoed through the eerily silent class. It was Alicarde, who had been musing to himself in a normal tone, not realizing the class had gone quiet. His words hung in the air, every syllable clearly heard by the entire room. Naturally, all eyes turned to him.

The main thought that crossed everyone's mind was centered on his words: 'Those things are huge and really soft too.' The question was, how did he know? Alicarde froze as he realized all eyes were on him, wishing he could turn back time and smack himself in the face.

The class broke into low whispers, a murmur of disbelief and curiosity spreading like wildfire.

"Did he just say that?"

"How does he know?"

"Is he for real?"

"Maybe he's just bluffing."

"He is so dead."

"They all are if you ask me."

Akimitsu's eyes trembled. He was a hundred percent sure before, but after what Alicarde had just unwittingly confessed, he was now certain.

'He's touched them, he has touched upon the promised land,' Akimitsu thought with a reverent gaze.

The professor was at a loss for words but quickly regained his composure, laughing in amusement.

"You boys are quite funny. It must feel good to be young again... You'd better not let Professor Malefica hear you. While she's quite attractive, she's also a no-nonsense woman. I'll let it slide today," the professor said, turning back to the projector.

But before continuing his lecture, he added with a sly grin, "But that doesn't mean Malefica would. After my class, why don't you boys go tell her exactly what you all said, including you, and give me a full report next week," he said, pointing directly at Alicarde, who was struggling to maintain his poker face.

"If you are still here with us, that is," he added slyly.

The class broke into more whispers, this time filled with anticipation and schadenfreude.

"Is he really going to do it?"

"That's suicide!"

"They are so dead."

Alicarde felt the urge to curse the old bastard. That man was a fiend. He recalled his older sister Sarah telling him college professors were demons in human skin. Alicarde had just reaffirmed that fact.
