Chapter 372 Is It Time To Go To The Secret Realm Now?
BOOM.
BANG.
CLANG.
Different sounds erupted inside the small chamber where Asher and Arianna were sparring. All of them were related to the clash happening between a spear and gauntlets at an incredible speed that even most of the Nascent Soul Realm cultivators wouldn't be able to track with their naked eyes.
Sometimes there was a loud metallic noise produced due to an impact caused by a powerful attack coming from one side while being blocked or parried away by the other person using their respective weapons.
And other times, it was a loud explosion created when two forces collided head-on with each other, causing shockwaves to spread out across this entire space around them!
Although they had been fighting like this for hours without stopping even once for some rest or respite, neither Asher nor Arianna showed any signs of tiredness visible on their faces or bodies. It almost seemed like time didn't matter much in these parts anymore, as if they were living creatures who could go on forever until death itself came knocking at their doors!
After exchanging several hundred more blows against one another, Arianna moved backward before stopping while staring at her grandson, who stood motionless as well after taking up a defensive stance with his spear held in his right arm.
He had been practicing with this weapon ever since getting his hands on it. However, no matter how much time he spent training every day and night nonstop, it still wasn't enough according to Arianna, as she wanted nothing more than seeing him master every aspect within such short notice.
But alas... even someone like herself knew that some things were just impossible to do unless you had enough talent and luck combined together with your hard work and dedication toward whatever task was being undertaken by yourself.
Still though... She didn't give up hope either, because deep inside her mind somewhere, there remained an unshakeable belief that sooner or later, Asher would achieve what she desired from him without fail!
Even if he couldn't do it right away, then so be it! There will always come another chance for him to show off everything hidden within those depths of his soul when the opportunity presents itself before him.
Yet, looking at his current progress in this short period, she felt proud of seeing how fast her grandson had grown since they started training here every day without fail. And even though his skills weren't yet comparable to those of someone who had trained for years, they were still quite impressive considering all factors involved in this equation.
Most of all, it was enough to create a foundation that he could continue to build upon in the future without any problems whatsoever!
"Alright, that's it," Arianna spoke after taking a deep breath to calm herself down from all the excitement building inside her heart. "We will stop here for now."
Asher looked up with sweat covering every part of his body, making him appear as if he had just taken a bath in some lake filled with water instead of fighting against his grandmother like a maniac who didn't know what rest meant.
Still though... If one were to look at how much improvement there was visible across different aspects regarding his combat abilities, then nobody would say anything about wasting precious hours spent over such activities because they knew very well that these things were necessary for anyone wishing to become strong enough someday!
"That was amazing! I never expected you would be able to reach this stage in such a short period." Arianna praised him with a smile on her seductive lips before continuing further after taking several steps closer toward where Asher stood. "You truly have been blessed by the heavens above us all... But don't let this go over your head because even someone like yourself needs to keep working hard if you don't want everything built up until now to disappear overnight itself!"
Asher grinned back at her words but didn't reply anything because he knew very well how right she actually was when it came down to such matters.
After all, previous life had taught him many things, one of them being that nothing stays forever, no matter whether good or bad; everything changes with a flip of fate.
But instead of getting lost in those thoughts again like last time, Asher asked with eagerness visible in his voice, "Is it time to go to the Secret Realm now?"
"No." Arianna replied while shaking her head from side to side, "We still have a half day left before we need to leave for the opening of the secret realm."
"Oh..." Asher muttered under his breath, feeling slightly disappointed upon hearing that he had to wait for so long. "Then why are you stopping now? We should continue training and make the best use of whatever remaining time we have on our hands."
"You fool! What's the point if your body gives up halfway through when it matters the most?" Arianna scolded him, "You should know that there is a limit to everything out there in this world, and if you try to go beyond that without thinking about consequences beforehand, then all your efforts would be wasted away like water spilled over the ground!"
"Okay..." Asher sighed and nodded his head in agreement, "Then what should I do? Should I start meditating or what?"
Seeing how much enthusiasm he still had even after hearing those words made her smile.
"You can meditate if you want to, but it won't do anything for you right now. Instead... Why not spend some time with me while taking a relaxing bath? After all, you are sweating like someone who has been standing in the rain without any shelter for hours on end. Moreover, ever since I got here, all I have done is train you for the secret realm. You don't want your poor old grandmother to collapse due to exhaustion, do you?"
