Cultivation Through Artifacts

Chapter 164 - Soul Piercer

A powerful gust of wind broke out the moment Khal's fan contacted with the bow, making Rubie clench into Khal's shoulder a bit harder to avoid being blown away.

"Nothing?" a hint of surprise flashed inside Khal's eyes the moment he saw that the bow was safe and sound, but thinking about it more, it was just natural.

The weapon in his hold was on the Legendary Tier, a tool that was created through extreme hardships. Any weapon or armor that reached such a Tier formed their Spirit Essence, thus it could be said they had their own spirit too.

Luckily it was not on the World Tier as if it would have been, he was quite sure the weapon would have fought back and maybe even would have killed him.

"Let's try it again." raising his Devil Fangs high above his head as though it was a hammer, Khal swung his arm, striking the bow in his other hand with all his might!

BOOM!

BAM!

CLANG!

Sounds again to whacking a steel rod into a metal wall resounded throughout the cave whilst powerful shockwaves flew around after each of Khal's hits.

Crack!

"!?"

After unknown how much hit and swing later, Khal noticed with great surprise that cracks began to form on the bow, ready to break into two at any given moment.

"You are mine!" exclaimed Khal inwardly and pouring a lot of his Essence into his fan, he began to strike the spot where the crack formed.

BAM!

CRACK!

With a sharp snap akin to breaking someone's bone, the bow cracked into two, revealing a small red core akin to a tiny, perfectly polished orb.

[Notify! Vessel shattered! 'Ember Core' has been detected!]

[Utilizing 'Magnetism'!]

Swish!

In a blink, the red core flashed and hit Khal's forehead, melting into his body the very next second.

[Notify! 'Ember Core' Soul Piercer obtained!]

As the voice appeared inside Khal's head, a warm and pleasant sensation swept through his body, causing every strand of his hair to stand on end in an instant!

"Hm?" while enjoying the feeling inside his body, Khal suddenly felt a strange sensation in his right hand thus lowered his gaze.

"A ring?" Khal suddenly noticed an orangish-red ring, with an outer appearance of a circular bow appeared on his middle finger.

After examining it, Khal tried to pull it down, but just like how his bracelet, it was stuck on his finger, even causing a sharp pain to pierce into his finger whenever he tried to move it.

"First my earring thanks to my Devil Fangs now this. I wonder why they appear in the shape of accessories instead of staying inside my body." wondered Khal but still proceeded on summoning the Soul Piercer.

Swish!

With a crimson flash, a bow with a similar appearance that the one before him appeared in the air before falling into Khal's hand gently.

"Looks the same to me." thought Khal and put his fingers on the string.

But the moment he began to pull it backward, the expected resistance was no longer there and made him feel as if he began to pull silk instead of a metal rod.

And the very same time he did that, an even greater sight appeared in his line of sight.

Without doing anything, the carvings on the bow began to lit up one by one, and slowly, black mist manifested in the middle of the bow's string.

"This should be the soul, right? But how come I'm perfectly fine even though it's visibly in contact with my skin?" Khal wondered, but figuring out it must be because it was no longer a normal weapon but a part of his power and body, Khal let go of the string and watched the Soul Arrow fly into the distance with a black flash!

"I must try this thing out on a real target." unsummoning his bow, Khal stood up and thought, "And if I go hunting, I should invite her too, right?"

-

Liza was currently before a lake, Jane on her side with both of her arms held behind her back.

"Freeze the water."

Swish!

With a single wave of her hand, Liza froze the lake into thick ice, causing the temperature around her and Jane to drop several degrees right in that instant.

Jane glanced at this sight with a nod and said, "Your proficiency with your Jade Ice improved once again. You can not only freeze faster than a month ago, but you even avoided using too much of your power, saving a lot of energy for other use. Great Job."

"Now use your second Talent, but this time without melting the ice away."

Liza seemed troubled by that request but still did as she was told. Waving her hand but this time sending a wave of crimson fire, Liza controlled her fire to remain destructive but at the same time avoiding melting the ice away.

But unfortunately, her attempt failed, and her Jade Ice was turned back into water in a split second, right when the fire reached above its surface.

"I still can't do this." sighed Liza, but her eyes still held a hint of confidence that she will be able to do it as it's only a matter of when.

Jane remained silent as she didn't blame Liza at all. Both of her Talents were complete opposites to each other, thus seeing as she failed her request was only natural.

Water and fire were natural nemeses to each other without any chance to coexist with one another. However, things were different if these two powers were under the same control and came from the same source of power, from a Cultivator.

Then there was the possibility to make these two entirely incompatible elements to find harmony and maybe create something new that no one else saw ever before!

"Just focus on this in the following days and try to perfect this technique. With your level of understanding and proficiency, I am sure you can do it."

"Yes, Master." nodded Liza and watched as Jane waved her hand and vanished into thin air.

Swish!

BOOM!

Freezing the water before sending fire in an attempt to send it through the air without melting the ice away, Liza seemed determined even though all of her endeavors failed miserably.

"I don't understand why Master doesn't let me do this in V.I.P room where my concentration would be 120%. Such a waste of precious resources," murmured Liza and was about to freeze the water again but suddenly noticed a figure watching her from the side.

"Khal? What are you doing here?" Liza looked surprised as she didn't know why Khal was there.

As everyone knows, ever since he came back every teacher proceeded on helping their students in cultivation once again thus he should be with Logan too.

But how unfortunate, if she would have known Khal's Master was currently enjoying life on a beach next to a bottle of cocktail, she would cough up blood for sure!

"What? You want me to go away?" asked Khal, acting surprised by Liza's question.

"What? No! Of course not! I was just surprised to see you here, that's all."

"Oh, is that so?" asked Khal, his eyes narrowing into a slit.

Rolling her eyes, Liza continued to practice but proceeded on asking, "Since when did you come? I was unable to detect you."

Khal hearing this could only smile as it was only natural. He not only was Cultivation Talentless but even tried out his Chameleon Armor to see how it operated in real situations.

And the results? It was outstanding!

Not only was Liza unable to detect him, but even Jane, a professional Cultivator failed to do so even though he stood there for several minutes!

His new armor was simply amazing and Khal knew that it will help him in hundreds of situations in the close future, he was sure about it!
