Chapter 515: 510: Regret? Absolutely Impossible!
Chapter 515: Chapter 510: Regret? Absolutely Impossible!
“Alright, I’ll check again. After this, regular maintenance should suffice if there’re no issues.”
Bai Qi moved closer to the Element Gate, meticulously inspecting it. “That being said, it probably won’t need constant upkeep. If all goes as expected, this Element Gate is now completely sealed off. We will have to wait for it to self-repair before it’s operative again.”
“That’s of little concern. All we wish for now is to recover and rest; we don’t need that many external exits.”
The Water Spirit nodded, about to say something else, but noticed a tremendous flare on the Element Gate that swallowed Bai Qi whole.
“Damn it, they dare to kidnap a human in my presence!”
Nicholas, seeing this, immediately tried to tug Bai Qi back, but instead got yanked in as well.
The Water Spirit also tried to assist, but he was already exhausted from maintaining the energy for the Newborn tribal men. He had used up a lot of energy fixing the Element Gate a moment ago, making his actions a tad slow.
Elements Gate returned to silence in an instant, making it invincible to any effort from the Water Spirit.
“Find a way to communicate with the humans outside. Let’s hope they can return quickly; otherwise the relationship between the Water Element World and humans may become hostile.”
After the futile attempts of the Water Spirit, he sighed helplessly. The Shadow of the Ice Ring and the Ice Spirit Angel, realizing the seriousness of the situation, immediately went into action.
Humans, who had a multitude of legends revolving around them, would not give up easily if someone truly died in their Water Element World, the elemental creatures felt the same.
…
“Hmm, where are we?”
Bai Qi propped himself up, straining against the tall snow surrounding him, looking puzzled.
“A snowy land? Are we still in the Water Element World? But this snow is strange—it feels warm.”
Bai Qi pressed his palm against the snow, feeling warmth seep in.
A growl…
(Because, human, you’re sitting on me…)
Bai Qi heard a disgruntled voice come from below. A giant wolf stood upright, pushing Bai Qi out of the snow, finally giving him a clear view of their surroundings.
All around, apart from where they stood, lush trees could be seen, and in the distance, a range of rolling mountains spread out.
Clearly, they were no longer in the Water Element World.
“Such surprises are not at all surprising anymore.”
Bai Qi sighed wistfully. “Schuck, can we identify our current location?”
“I have already scanned the area. This environment doesn’t match any location on the Federation map, and the communication equipment is out of signal range.”
Schuck projected a map, highlighting a couple of red dots in the center. Those dots evidently showed their location.
Elsewhere on the map, a myriad of skull symbols of different sizes filled the expanse, which they used to mark the locations of ferocious beasts.
“Considering the remarkably high density of these ferocious beasts, we are most likely in a tribal territory.”
“Are you sure?”
Bai Qi responded, taken aback.
“Very sure.”
Schuck nodded, “But it seems these beasts are quite averse to this area. Currently, there are no signs of any approaching beast, so we are temporarily safe.”
“Alright, but just temporarily.”
Bai Qi sighed, then suddenly remembered something and started searching around.
“Wait, where’s Nicholas?”
If he remembered correctly, Nicholas was also dragged in with him, but he was nowhere to be found now.
A growl!
(I have found him!)
Just then, Beta’s voice echoed, speeding towards the top of the hill. Bai Qi instantly summoned Delta to follow. Indeed, Nicholas’s trace was found at the peak.
However, Nicholas seemed to have been injured and was unconscious, not responding at all.
Seeing this, Bai Qi immediately summoned Gamma to treat Nicholas’s injury. It was only after a while that Nicholas regained consciousness.
“Hmm? What happened to me?”
Nicholas struggled to raise his head, then suddenly recalled what had happened, swiftly scanning around, “Bai Qi! Where are you, Bai Qi? Are you alright?”
“Here I am, and I’m fine. But if you keep yelling like this, I might not be.”
Bai Qi clasped his ears, only relaxing once Nicholas shut up, “Nicholas, can you still sense the Jade Imprint you left in the Federation?”
“Let me try.”
Nicholas nodded and closed his eyes for a while, reopening them after a long pause, his expression full of bitterness.
“I don’t sense anything. Not to mention, there are a lot of powerful presences in this vicinity disrupting my sensing abilities.”
A growl…
(Look what I’ve found!)
At that moment, Beta suddenly found something in the snow and dragged it forcefully in front of Bai Qi.
“Is this, a fragment of the Element Gate?”
Bai Qi recognized the origin of the fragment immediately, and when Nicholas stood up, all the fragments were exposed.
“Did I accidentally crush it?”
Nicholas was somewhat ashamed. If the Element Gate was still intact, they could possibly return directly, but now, that was out of the question.
“It shouldn’t be, it doesn’t look like the Water Element World’s gate.”
Bai Qi examined it carefully and shook his head, “If there are no surprises, this gate should be the culprit leading to the abnormalities in the Water Element World, and it shattered during the teleportation process.”
“Alright.”
Nicholas sighed and suddenly thought of something. He opened another Jade Imprint, entered the Jade Dream to investigate, and quickly returned.
“The worlds inside the Jade Dream are all places I’ve never been before. I’m afraid it will take a long time before I can return to the entrance of Gusu City.”
“Right, we can fly back from the Jade Dream.”
Bai Qi’s eyes brightened, “Approximately how long would it take? If it requires several months, it might be troublesome. My teacher and the others will probably be worried.”
When he mistakenly entered the Fire Element World, it led to a tense situation blowing up in Eden and the association. Now, he disappeared in the Water Element World again. If he could return within ten days or so like before, it would be fine. But if he was gone for longer, then there might really be a problem.
“Uh, based on the distances I explored while sleeping before, it will take at least a hundred years…”
“A hundred years? Even if I return, I’ll be dead by then…”
Bai Qi’s eyes twitched slightly. He didn’t doubt Nicholas’s words. After all, Nicholas had lived for hundreds of years by himself in the Green Dragon Secret Realm. At that time, Nicholas primarily explored the Jade Dream in his sleep.
Bai Qi stood up, looking at the towering mountain range in the distance, and fell into silence for a while, “So you’re saying, our only option is to cross the tribe and return to the Federation on foot?”
“It seems so.”
Jerry nodded, “I think we need to collect information first. We wouldn’t want to accidentally tread on the territory of a powerful Ferocious Beast, which would be detrimental for us.”
Hearing Jerry’s words, Bai Qi unconsciously glanced at Nicholas.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
After his awakening, Nicholas’s injuries began to recover slowly, but it was notably slow.
If Bai Qi wasn’t wrong, Nicholas had likely absorbed the energy released from the Element Gate when it shattered, which would explain his current condition.
With this thought in mind, Bai Qi immediately summoned the Six Pets and had them surround him.
“Beta and Jerry, you will inspect the surroundings first. Schuck, don’t release your scout bees, it will reveal our identities. As for Epsilon, see if you can find any useful information from the dreams of the nearby Ferocious Beasts.”
Bai Qi gave the two pets search orders, then looked at the remaining pets, “As for you, stay here to protect Nicholas until he recovers.”
They had stored a lot of food in the Grassland Secret Realm, so they weren’t worried about supplies. But, to get out of the tribal territory, Nicholas was a necessary fighting force.
Therefore, their top priority was to recover Nicholas’s injuries first.
“Then, I’ll go back to the Jade Dream to rest. The Jade Dream can speed up my recovery. If anything happens, let Epsilon contact me.”
Nicholas didn’t pretend to be strong when he heard this and quietly entered the Jade Dream again. Meanwhile, Bai Qi and the Six Pets began to explore their surroundings slowly.
…
In the evening.
The Grassland Secret Realm.
Worried about exposing their aura and leading to unnecessary trouble, Bai Qi temporarily hid in the Grassland Secret Realm after his pets collected the information.
Although they couldn’t return to the Federation through this method, it was safer than staying in a strange world.
“So, what did you find?”
Bai Qi picked up a piece of roasted meat and asked.
“Allow me to report first.”
Epsilon stepped forward, “According to the dreams I infiltrated, this snow mountain often experiences bursts of powerful energy shock and cold air making it unsuitable for creatures to live. Therefore, Ferocious Beasts generally do not approach it.”
“However, to the south of the snow mountain, there is a tribe established by a Legendary Wolf.”
“A Legendary Wolf?”
Bai Qi was surprised by the information while Jerry nodded on the side, “That matches what I collected. But the good news is, due to the existence of the tribe, there are quite a few Beast Soul Warriors active in the area. You should be able to blend in if you disguise as a Beast Soul Warrior.”
“Oh, I almost forgot about the existence of Beast Soul Warriors.”
Bai Qi put down his bowl and chopsticks, looked at Husky and said, “Since it’s a wolf tribe, as long as I take along a wolf beast and make a disguise, there’s no way I’d be discovered.”
“In theory, that’s correct.”
Schuck nodded, but there was something strange in his eyes when he looked at Bai Qi.
“But I personally suggest that you explore in another direction, otherwise you might regret it.”
Bai Qi waved his hand, “I’ve made a judgment. Looking at the terrain, we are likely located north of the Northern Federation now, so as long as we keep going south, we might be able to return to the Federation.”
“Regret? Absolutely not!”
