"I've recently hit a bottleneck in my Frozen Cloud Profound Arts," Chu Yueli said softly as she took a seat across from him. "Brother-in-law, since you're the one who improved the Frozen Cloud Arts, I've come to seek your help."
Previously, she was at the sixth stage of the Frozen Cloud Arts, but after switching to the improved version, her realm dropped to the fifth stage, and she hit a bottleneck, unable to return to the sixth stage. Since Yun Wuji created the new Frozen Cloud Arts, she decided to take this opportunity to seek his guidance.
*I don't know which stage she was, in the novel. If anyone knows leave a comment.*
As for why she came to him at night, perhaps even she didn't know.
"Hmm, give me your hand," Yun Wuji said, extending his hand toward her.
Chu Yueli hesitated; she had never had any physical contact with a man before. However, after reminding herself that this was her brother-in-law, she extended her hand, allowing him to hold her wrist.
When he held her hand, a warm sensation spread through her body, comforting and soothing. She nearly let out a moan, but as she was immersed in the feeling, it quickly faded. Yun Wuji had already let go of her wrist, leaving her slightly disappointed and embarrassed at the same time.
"You're facing a bottleneck because you misunderstood your cultivation technique," Yun Wuji explained as he leaned back in his chair after releasing her hand. "Although you cultivate ice profound strength, remember that all ice, snow, and water profound strength originally stem from the water law."
"Water law?" Chu Yueli blinked, clearly surprised. This was the first time she had heard such information.
"In this world, everything is governed by laws," Yun Wuji continued. "The Law of Water, the Law of Fire, the Law of Wind, the Law of Lightning, the Law of Earth-these are the five fundamental elemental laws of the Primal Chaos Realm." As he spoke, he raised his palm. Fire ignited, then transformed into a water ball, which shifted into a mini tornado, followed by a spark of lightning, and finally, a small mound of yellow soil.
Chu Yueli's eyes widened in shock. It was common knowledge that even the most talented individuals could only cultivate up to three elements, and that was merely a legend. She had never seen anyone control more than two. Yet, in front of her, someone was shattering this belief, demonstrating control over at least five elements.
"There are also the Law of Light and the Law of Darkness," Yun Wuji added, his smile widening at her shocked expression. "These are high-grade elemental laws that stand above the five basic ones." As he spoke, a gentle white light appeared in his hand.
"Light and darkness? Such elements exist?" Chu Yueli exclaimed in surprise.
"Yes, light is very rare. They are laws, not simply elements." Yun Wuji nodded and explained. "In the entire universe, there aren't many who can cultivate the Law of Light."
In truth, only two people in the universe cultivate the Law of Light, he and Shen Xi. However, even if that was the truth, he knew that claiming this would sound childish and boastful. The universe was vast, and no one couldn't be certain of the exact number of people cultivating profound light. How could he explain the source of his knowledge?
"On the other hand, Darkness is easier to cultivate but hard to control," Yun Wuji continued. "It's unstable and can shorten your lifespan, and in rare cases, it might even cause mental instability. Darkness excels at destruction and corrosion, while Light is best for healing and recovery."
"Is that so? They are opposites of each other," Chu Yueli said.
"That's right," Yun Wuji agreed with a nod. "Light and Darkness are even more incompatible than water and fire."
"There are other laws, like Space and Time, but let's get back to your ice profound energy," Yun Wuji said, steering the conversation back on track.
"Water is formless and shapeless," Yun Wuji explained. "If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. If you pour it into a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Water can flow or crash; it's flexible and tranquil." He demonstrated this by filling a cup with water and then shaking it to create ripples on the surface before the water settled back into calmness.
*Yun Wuji taught this to Bruce Lee.*
"Ice Profound Energy is essentially part of the Water Law, yet you're going against the nature of water," Yun Wuji explained. "You become rigid and inflexible, trying to forcefully freeze your emotions with techniques instead of naturally achieving it through enlightenment. That's why, despite cultivating the Frozen Heart Arts and paying a heavy price compared to other sects, your sect has never produced a powerhouse above the Emperor Realm. You haven't even become the foremost sect in this remote empire."
Chu Yueli was astonished as if a new world had opened before her. These were concepts she had never known or even imagined. Although she felt that he was subtly criticizing her sect, she couldn't deny that what he said was the truth.
He already demonstrated his abilities and understanding of their sect when he modified the Frozen Cloud Arts.
Yun Wuji ignored her reaction and continued with his explanation. "You need to align with the nature of water and understand its stillness, like a calm lake. Otherwise, you'll stray from the right path, and your future achievements will be very limited."
"Thank you, Brother-in-law. Your explanation has benefited me greatly," Chu Yueli said as she stood up and bowed deeply. She felt great admiration for him.
"Haha, no need for formalities. We're family, so it's normal to help each other," Yun Wuji said with a light laugh. It felt nice hearing her call him "brother-in-law," it would've been better if she had done so while panting. He shook his head inwardly, he had become very lustful recently, he wasn't like this in the past.
'Perhaps it's a side effect of the dragon blood,' Yun Wuji thought.
"Yes, family," Chu Yueli murmured, her eyes becoming distant. She and her sister were orphans adopted by the palace mistress, and the concept of family felt very distant to her.
For a moment, when she looked at the moon, Chu Yueli saw a bald man waving at her and saying something. When she blinked, the man disappeared. 'It must have been an illusion,'
she thought.
"I'll be counting on you in the future, brother-in-law," Chu Yueli said, her eyes lighting up as she looked at Yun Wuji again. Her smile was beautiful and captivating. This was the first she smiled in a very long time.
He was momentarily stunned by her beautiful smile. After regaining his composure, he replied with a smile, "Sure, you can come to me anytime."
The two talked until dawn when Chu Yueli finally said her goodbyes to Yun Wuji.
Yun Wuji returned to his room; Cang Yue was still asleep, and he didn't want to wake her up. He sat on the sofa, cross-legged, closed his eyes, and focused on his soul. He always allocated some time to cultivate his dragon soul, though it had only been a short time since he obtained the Dragon God's soul, and he hadn't made much progress.
Light shone through the window onto Cang Yue's face. She slowly opened her eyes and looked to her side. Seeing the space beside her empty, her sleepiness vanished, and she quickly got up. As she was about to leave the room, she noticed Yun Wuji sitting on the sofa.
Cang Yue patted her chest in relief and walked closer to him. She squatted quietly, resting her cheek in her hand as she looked at his face.
After a while, Yun Wuji opened his eyes and asked, "What are you doing?"
"Hehe, nothing~" Cang Yue stuck out her tongue and giggled. "Good morning, young noble."
"I'm not Li Qiye, so don't call me that," Yun Wuji said.
"Who is Li Qiye?" Cang Yue blinked, wondering if this Li Qiye was some well-known expert. "Nothing, it's just a crow," Yun Wuji didn't explain.
"Oh, I'm hungry, young noble. Please make breakfast~" Cang Yue said, losing interest when she heard it was just a crow.
"Who's the master here? Shouldn't you be the one preparing food for your master?" Yun Wuji rubbed his forehead helplessly. He wondered why he was so talented at everything, even his cooking skills were almost frightening.
"Compared to your skills, the food I make tastes like mud," Cang Yue said with a helpless expression, however, her eager eyes betrayed her.
"Hmm, you seem quite hungry. How about starting with some protein?" Yun Wuji said, pointing to his little dragon. He couldn't let his maid starve, right?
"..." Cang Yue looked at him silently for a moment before getting to work to get her dose of morning protein.
Time passed quickly, and a few days went by in a flash. Chu Yueli continued to stay at the Yun
Palace, visiting Yun Wuji every night to chat. They discussed many topics, including cultivation, sects, the continent, and even romance.
