Chapter 124: I know your future
Chapter 124: I know your future
A brilliant silver light engulfed Yun Wuji's body, radiating with such intensity that it was almost impossible to look directly at him. His eyes were shut tightly, his expression focused as if he were deeply immersed in intense 'deduction'.
Jasmine stood in front of him, her crimson eyes fixed on his glowing figure. Earlier, Yun Wuji had struck a deal with her, if he could deduce something significant about her, she would agree to teach him all her skills.
When Yun Wuji made the offer, Jasmine naturally didn't believe he could pull it off.
Despite him demonstrating countless unimaginable feats and even claiming to have predicted her arrival on this planet years ago, she remained deeply skeptical about his ability to deduce her future. After all, applying a skill to oneself and applying it to another were entirely different matters.
Even the Heavenly Mystery Realm could only glimpse vague signs of the future. They were incapable of deducing clear, complete pictures or precise information.
After a while, the intense light gradually faded, and Yun Wuji opened his eyes. He raised a hand to wipe the sweat from his forehead, his gaze moving to Jasmine. Shock, sympathy, and pity flickered across his face as he looked at her.
"???" Jasmine frowned as she noticed his expression. Why was he... pitying her?
Yun Wuji walked up to her, raising a hand to gently pat her head. Then, without a word, he half-knelt on the ground and pulled her into a sudden embrace.
"Wh-what are you doing?! Pervert!" Jasmine's eyes widened in surprise, and she was about to push him away when his voice froze her in her tracks.
"You poor little girl, only 13 years old... to think you experienced such cruelty at such a young age," Yun Wuji said softly. His voice carried a faint tremble, as though he was suppressing a deep sadness. Gently, he patted her back, his touch tender, as if trying to console her.
"What do you mean? Get away from me, you creep!" Jasmine's body trembled at his words. She quickly suppressed her emotions, broke free from his embrace, and leaped into the air, putting distance between them.
"Honestly, before I made my deduction, I thought you were the victim of some royal family struggles, especially since you always call yourself 'princess,"" Yun Wuji said, still looking at her with pity in his eyes. "But after my deduction... sigh, I can't believe how low a human being can sink. To think there's a father who would scheme against his own flesh and blood for the sake of vain power!"
"Such an utterly ridiculous and absurd method, one that defies the very laws of heaven and society... And all for the mere sake of a 'possibility' at that."
"Yo... you know!" Jasmine's body jolted at his words. Even though she didn't want to believe him, the truth was right in front of her!
"Yes... I even know more than you," Yun Wuji nodded lightly, the sad and pitying expression never leaving his face as he gazed at her. He paused for a moment, then said, "You learned about this cruel truth from your brother, Xisu, right?"n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
"You really know! I seriously underestimated your so-called deduction ability," Jasmine said, her voice steadier now as she landed on the ground. A complex look crossed her face, but it quickly turned cold. She snorted and added, "Hmph! This princess doesn't need your pity. Go ahead and tell me what you've seen."
"You would've been cuter if you'd stop with that tsundere act of yours. Sigh," Yun Wuji muttered under his breath. His words made Jasmine clench her fists in anger, but he
continued, "In fact, everything your brother told you was a lie."
"A lie?! Are you saying my brother lied to me?!" Jasmine's anger flared, her finger pointing at him as she prepared to give him the beating of his life. No one was allowed to speak ill of her beloved brother!
"That's not what I mean," Yun Wuji said slowly, his voice steady as he revealed the chilling truth. "Actually, your brother was led to believe a lie. The 'ritual' your father wanted to perform requires the sacrifice of two blood-related close family members, not just one." He paused, letting the weight of his words sink in. "Your father and that old dog Tumi naturally knew about your brother's personality and his love for you, so they devised a scheme where they would make him 'accidentally' discover the 'truth' about the ritual."
"That old villain..." Jasmine clenched her small fists, her face contorting with anger and deep hatred, as she cursed.
"What your brother found was that the ritual required the sacrifice of one person to raise your father's cultivation," Yun Wuji continued, his tone steady. "Upon discovering this, he confronted your father, and your father admitted that he intended to sacrifice him for the sake of the Star God Realm. Naturally, your brother refused. He would rather desert the Star God Realm than sacrifice himself."
"But in reality, the ritual requires two sacrifices, not just one," Yun Wuji continued, "At the time when your brother was chasing the Brahma Monarch Goddess, Tumi seized the opportunity to make you inherit the Heavenly Slaughter Star God inheritance that had reacted to you. Upon learning this, your brother, in an attempt to protect you, agreed to the ritual. But the reality is that both you and your brother were always intended to be sacrificed."
"Your father and Tumi used the love between you two siblings to manipulate him," Yun Wuji continued, his tone laced with sorrow. "However, your brother's sudden death forced your father to abandon the ritual."
"So everything your brother told you was a big fat lie!" Yun Wuji finished explaining, his gaze fixed on her as her changing expressions.
"Lies! You're lying!" Jasmine pointed at him, her voice trembling with disbelief. "This can't be the truth, it can't be. Brother... brother..." she mumbled softly.
"I know it's hard for you to hear, but I still have more to say," Yun Wuji said softly as he walked up to her and patted her shoulder.
"What else?" Jasmine jolted, her eyes wide with shock, as she looked at him and asked.
"A few years from now, your little sister, Caizhi, will inherit your brother's power, the Heavenly Wolf Star God Legacy," Yun Wuji continued, his voice calm but heavy with the truth. "And when you return, knowing how much you love your sister, your father will use the same trick he did with your brother."
As Yun Wuji spoke, Jasmine's body began to tremble uncontrollably, her aura shaking with a violent force. The entire palace quaked under the pressure, and an overwhelming killing intent radiated from her, enveloping the entire area in a suffocating aura of rage.
"Old... Villain... Old... Dog... Tumi!" Jasmine uttered through gritted teeth, her voice filled with a cold, murderous rage. She bit down so hard that a trail of blood began to seep from her lips, her whole body trembling with fury as she struggled to contain the storm within her. "I...
will... kill... you..."
"Yes, in the future, you and your little sister will be sacrificed by your father for the sake of his delusional ambition," Yun Wuji said calmly, waiting for her to regain some control over herself before speaking again.
Jasmine's eyes were still wide open, her body trembling with hatred and rage. Her father had let her mother die, wanted to sacrifice her brother, and even planned to sacrifice her. Now, he wouldn't even spare her miserable sister.
"Old villain! One day, I will kill you!" Jasmine seethed, her fury reaching its peak.
"No! Caizhi! I need to save Caizhi first!" Jasmine suddenly reacted, forcefully shaking off Yun Wuji's hand as she shouted in panic.
"Jasmine! Calm down! Nothing has happened yet, and you can't leave in your current condition!" Yun Wuji's voice was firm, his words cutting through her rage. Slowly, his shout helped her regain some semblance of control.
"Actually, it's best for you to never return to the Star God Realm," Yun Wuji continued, "Even if your sister were to inherit the Heavenly Wolf Star God Legacy, as long as you remain thought to be dead, your sister will be safe."
Jasmine remained silent, her back turned to him for a very long time.
From time to time, Yun Wuji noticed her small shoulders trembling faintly. After a while, she wiped her eyes and slowly turned to face him. Her voice, soft and filled with emotion, broke the silence. "Yun Wuji, thank you..."
"We're friends, it's only..." Yun Wuji smiled at her, but before he could finish, his body suddenly collapsed. He fell to his knees, bending forward with his head on the ground. His hands clenched tightly around his chest as his body shook uncontrollably, like a vibrating Nokia phone. His face turned an ashen pale.
"Yun Wuji!! What... what's going on?! What happened to you?!" Jasmine's eyes widened as she exclaimed in shock and fright. She reached to him stretched out her hand and held his shoulder, helping him down. Her eyes, already wide, became as wide as saucers.
She saw that his usually calm and casual face was now contorted, as if worms were crawling
beneath his skin. He bit his bloodless lips, and a trail of blood leaked from the corners of his mouth. He was in excruciating pain, yet he stubbornly fought to suppress even the slightest
gasp of pain.
