Ascension of the Monster Queen

The demon looked at Nessa as she looked around and he did the same, then his eyes narrowed and he approached her then tapped her on her shoulder and she glanced at him and her brows furrowed.

"What's the matter?" He asked and she sighed.

'There is no way I am imagining things, this is not the first time I have sensed it in this castle, it's been more than one time since I came here, can't he sense it?' She wondered as she glanced at him and he tilted his head a little to the right as she stared at him.

"Do you want to see my face? Is that why you are staring at me right now?" He asked and she flinched as he got closer to her.

"That's not it," She responded and he scoffed.

"Hmm, then what is it?" He asked.

"Hey, do you sense anything heavy or something that you wouldn't normally think you would find here?" She asked and he glanced at her.

"Is that why you have been looking around?" He asked and she sighed then nodded.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

"I am not imagining things," She added and he chuckled.

"I never said that you were, I sensed it a few times before as well," He said and she looked at him.

"What do you think it may be?" She asked as she leaned in closer to him and he stepped back as she stared at him and he pulled his head back a little.

"Geez... Wait a moment," He responded as he grabbed onto her arms and she glanced at him as he moved her back a little then she realized and she sighed.

"Sorry," She said and he looked at her.

"It's fine, I will tell you about this but where are you off to?" He asked and she looked at her clothes then at the time and she held onto her stomach and his brows furrowed.

"Were you going out for dinner when I came here?" He asked and she nodded.

"I see, well, sorry about the delay," He added and she looked at him.

"It's okay if you want, you can come with me and we can continue talking, I am hungry," She said and he chuckled.

"Fine, I will take you up on that, shall we?" He asked and she nodded then walked away and he followed her out of the room then closed the door behind him.

After they left the castle, Nessa and the demon went into the city and she smiled as she looked at the city light and how many people there were, despite it being a little late and she exhaled deeply.

'I am going to make sure the people in my nation are able to live free and happy, a place where even if they get hurt, even if something is taken from them, they will be able to find peace and happiness once again,' She thought and the demon glanced at her and his brows furrowed.

"Where do you want to go?" He asked and she looked at him and at the same time, she caught onto a nice aroma of food.

She smiled then grabbed onto his arm and followed where it was coming from and he looked at her then she came to a halt as she saw it was a stall which the aroma was coming from.

"We are going to buy there, it smells good," She said as she approached the stall, he glanced at her hand as they arrived and Nessa sighed since there were a few people waiting in line.

"There are tables and chairs, let's take one for ourselves," She said then they went to a table and chair and her brows furrowed.

"Oh, will you eat any of this?" She asked as she turned around to look at him and his brows furrowed.

"Yeah, I have no problem with these kinds of food... You can be quite carefree sometimes, huh?" He asked as he poked her hand.

She looked at him then her eyes widened as she realized that she was holding his hand all the time and she hit his hand away as she released him immediately.

"Sorry about that, I didn't realize," She responded and he scoffed.

"It's fine, you don't have to apologize, it's not like I am complaining, you can sit down, I will make the order if you want," He said and she glanced at him.

'I listened to everything he said to me since the first time we met and I believe him due to his actions so far but, still, I need to find out more about this demon, damn it, there is so much to do, I am going to try and get it over with as soon as possible, everything,' She thought with a piercing look in her eyes.

"Sure, you can go ahead and make the order," She replied then sighed and he left to go make the order.

As he walked away, someone walked past him and his eyes narrowed as he glanced at the person then went to join the line and Nessa sat down, waiting.

As she waited, a few things came to her mind and she was a little worried about how it may all end with the ones that were causing all of the problems, the ones that were targeting different places and she wondered who their leader may be.

'If I can find the guy whose name I was given by the one that we dealt with that night, I will be closer to finding out who the leader is and figuring out all of this before things get even worse,' She thought as the demon approached her.

She looked at him and when she saw how many things were in his hand, she scoffed then got up and took a few out then placed them on the table, after which both of them sat down.

"Thanks," She said as she took her food.

"There is no need to thank me, I am just doing what I want," He replied and she nodded then he took his food and Nessa sighed as she began eating and then smiled.

"Delicious," She said and he glanced at her.

"The one that you have been sensing, it seems to be coming from something a little dark, right? Possibility might even be a demon," He replied and she stopped eating and looked at him with her brows furrowing.
