All My Beasts are Legendary

Chapter 49: The All-Powerful Tyrannosaurus Breezes Through

Chapter 49: The All-Powerful Tyrannosaurus Breezes Through

“What’s going on there? They’ve only just gone in, shouldn’t they be undergoing the evaluation of their Beast Tamer Aptness Level now?”

Lin Shiru, Xu Younian, and the rest of them noticed the weird change to the Spirit Pagoda, and a hint of doubt crept onto their faces.

Xu Younian went as far as to immediately fishing out a black token. He focused all of his energy onto the object, as if communicating with it. After a beat, he finally relaxed.

“I just communicated with the Spirit Pagoda. According to it, what happened just now was a result of its own power flowing, and nothing has happened to the students in there.”

The crowd finally relaxed when they heard this.

...

“The Beast Tamer Aptness Level Evaluation is complete. Your Beast Tamer Aptness Level is ???”

At the same time, the transparent orb of light in the Spirit Pagoda twinkled.

Along with that, a message reached Ye Xuan’s heart.

???

Ye Xuan’s mouth fell open when he saw the three question marks.

He felt a little anxious.

He did not know if there would be surprises later.

Doong!

Just as he was lost in thought, his body had suddenly vanished from this room made of black stone when the air around him warped. He was suddenly in an enormous, empty space, expansive and flat. At the very edges of the space was a gray mist. Not a thing could see past the gray mist’s edge.

“The challenge will commence in three seconds. Please get ready,” an aged voice called out from above the space. Ye Xuan could not tell why, but he detected some inexplicable emotion in this aged voice.

But he had no time to dwell on this thought. He hurriedly summoned his beast from the Beast Ring.

As for Lil Wan, her eyes were still fixed dazedly on his pocket.

Plod.

Ye Xuan had just summoned the Tyrannosaurus from his Beast Ring when someone, whose skin had an inky green tint to it and whose ears were incomparably pointy, walked out of the mist in the far distance.

“Is this...an Ancient Wood Elf?” The shock seeped into Ye Xuan’s expression. He had not expected that the first opponent the Spirit Pagoda had arranged for him would be an Ancient Wood Elf.

Ye Xuan raised a brow at the Ancient Wood Elf. He tried to use his Beast Editor to look up its Attribute Panel. But in the end, all he could do was shake his head.

Like others had said, the opponents that the Spirit Pagoda arranged for everyone were all imaginary spirits. They were not real lifeforms.

And so, even his Beast Editor was useless in the face of an opponent like this.

“Let’s fight.”

Ye Xuan thought about it, and then glanced at Lil Wan. She knew what he was thinking, and immediately leaped into the air from his shoulder. Her little hand waved about and a vine with green leaves appeared.

This vine was the Mutated Aucuba Vine. It had perfectly inherited the unique traits of the Spawn Ironwood Thorns. Right after it was materialized, its pointy ends immediate turned a gleaming jet black, incomparably sharp.

Whoosh!

In the next moment, the Mutated Aucuba Vine tore through the air and, in the blink of an eye, appeared right in front of the Ancient Wood Elf. The Ancient Wood Elf was agile and radiant on the ground. It flitted to the right and dodged this blow.

Regular Ancient Wood Elves were different from Lil Wan—they were all unparalleled in how agile they were. After this elf dodged the blow, she immediately flew towards Ye Xuan, charging at him at top speed.

Roar!

The Tyrannosaurus howled in a low tone. From its pair of amber eyes shot out a brilliant beam of light that landed upon the Ancient Wood Elf. In the span of a breath, the Ancient Wood Elf was stuck, firmly rooted to the ground.

Whoosh!

Just then, Lil Wan’s Mutated Aucuba Vine that the Ancient Wood Elf had dodged had suddenly returned. Like a jade-green Spirit Snake, it wrapped around the Ancient Wood Elf. In the next moment, sharp thorns instantly grew out of the Mutated Aucuba Vine, vicious as they cut deeply into the Ancient Wood Elf’s body.

Ah!

The Ancient Wood Elf called out pathetically. Her body was steadily becoming incorporeal, and then it disappeared from the space.

“Does the first round end like this?”

Ye Xuan raised a brow as he watched the scene unfold. The first round felt too easy to him. According to the discussions the students who had left earlier, they would meet gatekeepers who were the same rank as them when they entered the Spirit Pagoda.

If the challenger cannot defeat the gatekeeper within three minutes, then stronger ones would manifest in the space after the three minutes were up. At that point, the two challengers would attack simultaneously, and most of the students would then be forcefully ejected of the Spirit Pagoda in the span of a few short seconds.

As such, all of the students who entered the Spirit Pagoda would have to deal with each round’s gatekeepers as soon as possible.

Ye Xuan looked around after he vanquished the Ancient Wood Elf. He did not spot anything, and so he waited quietly.

Plod.

Very quickly, after three minutes had passed, an enormous Proterosuchus covered in bumps emerged from the mist.

“This the gatekeeper for the second round?”

Without waiting for Ye Xuan’s instructions, the Tyrannosaurus glared at the Proterosuchus as soon as he saw the other reptile. Its amber eyes glinted and the Proterosuchus immediately froze in its tracks.

Whoosh!

In the next moment, a green vine lashed out through the space and, in the blink of an eye, pierced through the eye socket of this Proterosuchus that very obviously seemed stronger.

The vine emerged from its lower jaw.

Roar!

The Proterosuchus howled pitifully. This otherworldly lifeform had barely stepped out of the mist before it faded in an instant, just as the Ancient Wood Elf had.

“Is that move of yours really that powerful?”

Ye Xuan could not help but reach a hand out in response to the scene. Glee washed over his face as he glided a hand over the Tyrannosaurus’ five-color Amber Dragon that felt cold and smooth as a machine of metal.

He was in owe of the Tyrannosaurus’ move—it was truly too powerful.

Plod plod.

After another minute, an Ancient Wood Elf and a gigantic Proterosuchus strode out of the mist together. Ye Xuan’s heart stirred a little when he saw the two beasts,

A normal student on their third round might not be able to defeat the gatekeepers, but as long as they hung on for more than a minute and scored above 80 points, they would stand to gain pretty decent rewards.

But Ye Xuan was not that kind of person.

Roar!

As Ye Xuan was lost in his thoughts, the Ancient Wood Elf and gigantic Proterosuchus that had strode out of the mist were met with the deafening roar of the Tyrannosaurus. Under the sheer terror of the Amber Tyrannosaurus Roar, the two beasts immediately started to stagnate and slow.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Coincidentally, Lil Wan synced up with the Tyrannosaurus. Two spears fashioned out of green ivy pierced through the space, one after the other, and instantly arrived right in front of the two beasts. In the next instant, the two beasts followed in the footsteps of the two gatekeepers that preceded them.

“I wonder what the next gatekeeper will be.”

Having practically breezed through the three rounds, Ye Xuan took a look at the empty space, anticipation swimming in his gaze. According to what the other students had described, a lot of them were crushed by the fourth gatekeeper.

Because the fourth gatekeeper is assigned to the challenger by the Spirit Pagoda, based on their weaknesses in the preceding rounds. Even An Xue had not been able to defeat her fourth gatekeeper.

All she could do was stall until the fifth round commenced.

She hung on for three seconds on the fifth round before finally scoring 91 points.
